RETIRED - divine guardian of the Compass (Ruins of Azlant)

Gid? You posted in recruitment...

Male Human Bard (Archaeologist) 11; HP 69/69; AC 21/14/18; F+4/R+11/W+7; Init+3; Per+21; Arch.Luck+3+1,6/6

Yes. Yes I did. Not sure how I even ended up on the recruitment board.

So let's just cross post here. May I repost my action depending on what the enemy does?

Sure thing. Still need Cathyriel's actions before the monster acts.

Female U Rogue (Eldritch Scoundrel) 1 I HP 9/9 I AC 14 [T 14 FF 10] I Fort +1 Ref +4 Will +2 I Init +5 I CMB +0 CMD 14 I I Perception +6

@Brainiac - just checking that you realised the archons are using a ranged touch attack, so it's against touch AC :)

Thank you, I did realize that. The worm has a high Dexterity--its touch AC is 15. :)

Female U Rogue (Eldritch Scoundrel) 1 I HP 9/9 I AC 14 [T 14 FF 10] I Fort +1 Ref +4 Will +2 I Init +5 I CMB +0 CMD 14 I I Perception +6

In that case I think it took 3 hits? One each from LA2, LA3 and LA5?

Okay, I must have missed one. I'll factor that in.

Cathyriel still has her actions for this round.

Male GMT

Hello all. Just to let you all know that Wandering Wastrel has come down with coronavirus. Not in an at-risk group but unavailable for a few days at least.

The original post.

1 person marked this as a favorite.
Male Human Bard (Archaeologist) 11; HP 69/69; AC 21/14/18; F+4/R+11/W+7; Init+3; Per+21; Arch.Luck+3+1,6/6

Holy crap! We can't have our cleric going down like that! Thank you for letting us know; it's greatly appreciated.

Godspeed to Cathyriel in recovering from this! I'll be praying for a swift healing.

I'll post a little later this morning. Sorry for the delay!

Male Human Bard (Archaeologist) 11; HP 69/69; AC 21/14/18; F+4/R+11/W+7; Init+3; Per+21; Arch.Luck+3+1,6/6

Hat-tip to Terana in that round. 77 damage in two attacks and a critical that was one point off from max damage. Impressive. Most impressive.

RETIRED - divine guardian of the Compass (Ruins of Azlant)

Thank you :)

I've got my eye set on repeating the Onthooth trick with the final boss in book 6. :D

Male Human Bard (Archaeologist) 11; HP 69/69; AC 21/14/18; F+4/R+11/W+7; Init+3; Per+21; Arch.Luck+3+1,6/6

Since we have some down time before we go meet with Anemora, let's doo a quick loot update. Here's what we've got:

1) potions of cure moderate wounds (8) - Keep (2x per person)
2) +1 hide armor (4) - 4,080 GP
3) +1 tridents (4) - 8,060 GP
4) +1 seaborne greatsword - 8,050 GP
5) Pearl-Encrusted Jewelry Box - 500 GP
6) Eyes of Keen Sight - 6,000 GP (Gideon)

Since Gideon is keeping the Eyes of Keen Sight, I'll divide the rest of the loot among the other three. That would give Terana, Tobar, and Cathyriel:

6,896 GP and 5 SP each.

Female U Rogue (Eldritch Scoundrel) 1 I HP 9/9 I AC 14 [T 14 FF 10] I Fort +1 Ref +4 Will +2 I Init +5 I CMB +0 CMD 14 I I Perception +6

So. That was moderately unpleasant.

Apologies for absence. Reading through what I've missed and catching up now, will post when I can.

Glad to have you back and that you are okay! We missed you!

Male Human Bard (Archaeologist) 11; HP 69/69; AC 21/14/18; F+4/R+11/W+7; Init+3; Per+21; Arch.Luck+3+1,6/6

I'm really glad that you're ok! If anything needs forgiving, it's forgiven, but you really don't have anything to apologize for!

I think I speak for the entire group when I say that we're just glad that you're alright and feeling on the mend! Welcome back!

EDIT: I didn't really split up the extra 896 GP that I had from the loot split; if y'all wouldn't mind letting me re-calculate that real quick, it would make the loot split 6,224 GP for the other three, with Gideon getting the EoKS and 224 GP.

That sound alright with everyone?

You don't want to give the pearl-encrusted jewelry box as a gift to your wife?

Male Human Bard (Archaeologist) 11; HP 69/69; AC 21/14/18; F+4/R+11/W+7; Init+3; Per+21; Arch.Luck+3+1,6/6

No, I don't think so. You guys might not mind it, but it would throw off the treasure split. Though now that I think of it, we probably should at least hang on to it until we find another place to sell it. Wouldn't want to risk Anemora finding her gift in a market stall somewhere.

If that's agreeable, that would at 125 GP to everyone's total.

RETIRED - divine guardian of the Compass (Ruins of Azlant)

Fine by me. :)

Male Human Bard (Archaeologist) 11; HP 69/69; AC 21/14/18; F+4/R+11/W+7; Init+3; Per+21; Arch.Luck+3+1,6/6
Gideon Ross wrote:

That should say subtract.

Everyone else's share would be 6,099 GP and Gideon's would be 99 GP.

What are the rest of you doing while Terana gathers information? Visiting the markets to sell off the gear you have?

Female U Rogue (Eldritch Scoundrel) 1 I HP 9/9 I AC 14 [T 14 FF 10] I Fort +1 Ref +4 Will +2 I Init +5 I CMB +0 CMD 14 I I Perception +6

Hi all

Due to ongoing work (I had 2/3 of my team reassigned to other matters last week), I don't now have time to post regularly here. I'm going to keep running the games where I'm DM but I think I need to drop the games I'm playing in: it isn't fair to you guys (especially the DM) to have to keep waiting on me.

I'm sorry to do this, but I don't see how it works otherwise.

Sorry to see you go, but I understand. Take care of yourself. I'll continue botting Elly, at least until the end of this adventure.

For the rest of the players, how should we proceed? Do we want to recruit a new PC, keep botting Cathyriel, or create a new DMPC to round out the group?

Male Human Bard (Archaeologist) 11; HP 69/69; AC 21/14/18; F+4/R+11/W+7; Init+3; Per+21; Arch.Luck+3+1,6/6

Sorry to see you go, Cathyriel, but real-life stuff trumps this every time; good luck with getting your work running smoothly again!

My preference would be to recruit a new PC to the group, though I recognize that that might be difficult given where the group presently is. If it would be possible (and realistic) to recruit someone that can jump straight in, that would get my vote.

Otherwise, I'd say let you keep botting Cathyriel until we get back to Talmandor's Bounty or wherever is the next most realistic place to pick up a new PC.

INACTIVE - GAME DIED

Oh nooooO!

Well maybe we can recruit a Mordant Spire elf or a merfolk?

RETIRED - divine guardian of the Compass (Ruins of Azlant)

Yeah, I think we need 4 so another PC would be good. I may have someone to suggest.

A new PC can be of an underwater race. Terana let me know who you have in mind.

Hello all. Terana pinged me and said ya might be looking for a replacement. I’m game if you’ll have me. Thinking a female Druid who is focused on casting while shapeshifted. Honestly may spend most time in animal form with Wild Speech. Thoughts?

Welcome, Thron. A druid would likely be a good fit in this group. Since the party is currently in an underwater city, you are welcome to create a character from an underwater ancestry like an aquatic elf, merfolk, locathah, or cecaelia if you'd like.

Male Human Bard (Archaeologist) 11; HP 69/69; AC 21/14/18; F+4/R+11/W+7; Init+3; Per+21; Arch.Luck+3+1,6/6

Undine would be an option as well.

Appearance

I believe Arianda is finished up and ready to go. Her backstory...will be revealed over time...

*evil laugh*
*cough*

I mean...nothing to see here...don’t worry. Move along. Move along.

*sinister gleam*

Looks good, Arianda! You may join in now--looks like the party needs help already! :D

Male Human Bard (Archaeologist) 11; HP 69/69; AC 21/14/18; F+4/R+11/W+7; Init+3; Per+21; Arch.Luck+3+1,6/6

Yikes! Need help is a bit of an understatement, wouldn't you say?

"Crap! Gideon shouts as Terana is taken down without so much as a how-do-you-do, pushing through the pain of the blows to quickly weave a spell that will put him in a better position to help the others.

Concentration Check: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (18) + 10 = 28 vs. DC 21 to cast Invisibility and avoid AOO

Once invisible to their enemies, Gideon attempts to get out of range of their weapons, preparing to cast another spell.

AL Remaining: 5/6.

Current HP: 43/63.

RETIRED - divine guardian of the Compass (Ruins of Azlant)

Wrong thread again Gid :P

Male Human Bard (Archaeologist) 11; HP 69/69; AC 21/14/18; F+4/R+11/W+7; Init+3; Per+21; Arch.Luck+3+1,6/6

Geez...I really, really have to stop posting right before I go to bed. Sorry, Brainiac!

I plan to update a bit later today!

Appearance

Sent you a PM, DM Brainiac.

Responded to it!

Is there anything else you wanted to do now, or will you wait to meet with Rillikmatai again tomorrow?

RETIRED - divine guardian of the Compass (Ruins of Azlant)

Nothing else for now I think. We should stay I side and try to avoid trouble!

Male Human Bard (Archaeologist) 11; HP 69/69; AC 21/14/18; F+4/R+11/W+7; Init+3; Per+21; Arch.Luck+3+1,6/6

As long as nothing of importance would've taken place at the dinner with Anemora, I'm fine with that.

Alright, I will post a little later today.

Male Human Bard (Archaeologist) 11; HP 69/69; AC 21/14/18; F+4/R+11/W+7; Init+3; Per+21; Arch.Luck+3+1,6/6

Good evening, Brainiac! Wanted to let you know that, beginning Thursday night, I'm going to be indisposed for a little while, probably a few days.

My wife and I are headed to the hospital that night for labor induction and we expect to be in the hospital until at least Saturday/Sunday; even after we get home I'm not really sure what the routine will end up looking like, but I have every intention of keeping up with the game if at all possible.

Please feel free to bot Gideon as needed. Thank you!

Appearance

Congrats! On that note, I’m on my way in the morning with my wife for a cesarean! So ditto for me...but I will try to post when I can.

RETIRED - divine guardian of the Compass (Ruins of Azlant)

Best of luck to you both, and more for your respective partners!

Mazel tov to you both! Don't worry about the game for now--focus on the new additions to your family! We'll be here when you get back. :)

Male Human Bard (Archaeologist) 11; HP 69/69; AC 21/14/18; F+4/R+11/W+7; Init+3; Per+21; Arch.Luck+3+1,6/6

Thanks guys and congratulations to you and yours, Ari! I pray that everything goes well for all three of you!

Male Human Bard (Archaeologist) 11; HP 69/69; AC 21/14/18; F+4/R+11/W+7; Init+3; Per+21; Arch.Luck+3+1,6/6

I've been completely forgetting to take advantage of the Manta ea Ray cloak for a while now. I left the strength bonus to attack and damage off that roll because I'm honestly not sure if the cloak lets me add it.

INACTIVE - GAME DIED

Ah crap it looks like I never advanced to level 10 correctly
This will take a little work

Slayer (Sniper) 3 (same bonuses at slayer [sniper] 2)
+8 hit points
+1 BAB, Will saves

Skills: +1 each of: Acrobatics, Climb, Disable Device, Perception, Survival, Swim; Craft (weaponsmith), Craft (engineering)
+2 to Craft (clockworks)

Feat: Empty Quiver Flurry

Class features: Deadly Range (sniper version), Slayer Talent: Trapfinding, Sneak Attack +1d6

Tobar now has trapfinding, so he can disable magical traps, and gets a small bonus to saves and AC vs. traps.

Other note: I don't remember if we have a treasure tracker, but I am wildly below wealth by level. My weapon is +1, my armor is +1, I have no stat-boosting items, and aside from a ring of swimming, that's it! I don't even have a cloak of resistance.
