THought while looking at leveling up -- Right now, Falric, Barundar and I seem to pretty well obliterate anything that we melee with, but overall the team seems a little weaker at range. (Though we haven't really had much opportunity to test that.)

Now that we've got some cash, I'm planning to grab a heavy crossbow (if readily available, GM?), but otherwise don't know that I have any great options to focus on range. Don't know that we need to worry about it, just noting.

Guys, I am very sorry but I'm going to have to bow out of the game. There has been a lot of things going on in my life lately and I haven't been able to commit to the game as I should. So rather than continue to drag you down I'd like to offer my spot to someone that can make a more meaningful contribution.

By way of quick (and possibly even accurate?) summary:

* 3 days ago game-time, the party met a Hopeknife coming-of-age ceremony, besting militia captain Rodrik and his crew at several games
* 2 days ago, Rodrik turned up mysteriously dead. The party took on investigation of his death, and was attacked by assassins twice in response that day and night
* 1 day ago, the party continued our investigation, recreating Rodrik's last mission by heading into the burnt-out Plague House outside of town. There, we captured a half-orc rogue who told us of an orc/troll plot to invade the town; Rodrik was killed for getting too close to the truth.
* tonight: invasion happened; we're on mission to light 3 large beacons/bonfires around town to allow the mostly-human militia enough light to fight effectively. So far, we've lit the one within the inner wall, and ventured out into the compromised outer sector to light the other two.

From your profile, looks like Ugun is a Trunau native, so should be all sorts of ill-advised things you could be up to at the moment, with half the town overrun. ;)

Eli is searching for ancient famous artifacts. It was just revealed that perhaps Truneau is holding one of those right before the invasion began, so I haven't really had time to expound on that yet.

2. Regarding your 10-min background, I didn't really like the known and unknown secrets part. Let's just say that what you have been told is that you are the product of a rape between your mother and the orc chieftain of the Twisted Nails orc tribe and you both escaped when he was overthrown.
3. I had in mind another intro so we will ignore your posted intro for now. I have a more fluid and natural intro planned, given the circumstances of an orc invasion.

What are you using for the combat maps? Are these roll20 screencaps? if so, would it be easier for us to just log in to roll20 typo see the maps?

I do use Roll20 for the maps, but I am not very computer-savvy so I don't know how the rest of the program works in order for players to log-in, etc. I think it works fine for now for the screen captures. The icons for everyone except Elisen could not be copied for some reason, but I think you can understand which is your icon if you look closely.

Question: Can we use a ranged attack against the drum itself? If we can just put a hole in the skin that would be enough to ruin any percussive qualities of the thing.

The attack-the-drum idea is worth a shot, but I think that would count as a "sunder" attempt, since he's holding it, and sunder can only be done as a melee attack? (Otherwise, the "Damaging items" rules say you can do it with ranged items.)

To keep us moving, I'll take a shot at the top of the tower; GM, if you're willing to let me attack the drum, let's do that, otherwise assume I target the bard/skald? Note - the +1 on my attack / damage are race / trait bonuses against orcs, prob don't apply against drums.

GM: what's your 'order' for rolling for NPCs?

I'm asking because this round you rolled a save for Orc 2 first and then for Orc 1 but the previous round the order was reversed (Orc 1 first and then Orc 2).

What does the order respond to?
