Sorek wrote:Ok, those of us who just started (Grelldar, Bastion), came in at 7th level. I assume this means 35001 XP, so this fight doesn't make us 8th (51000 xp)......
Btw that xp will take us up to 8th level
So that puts us at 48,814 which is fine with me. The level will come soon enough.
Also, on the topic of finding a cleric if we need to replace Bastion, since Baltor is still around and we do have a fighter, I'm willing to reroll Fantora as a ranged cleric so that we don't need to slow things down for recruitment. It's not my preference on it's own, but I'd rather do that than delay the game with finding a new player.

I have no objection to a respec of Fantora as a cleric. I just don't particularly want to be botting a 2nd character long-term.
Fantora Ossman |
@brvheart, would allow me to either take over botting Bastion for the group or re-roll Fantora as a cleric so that we've got one to continue our adventure without a pause to re-recruit? Of the two I'd prefer botting Bastion, but I don't know what you feel about that.

Complete Level 8 Stats are in Lomyldyr's profile.

I would kind of prefer rerolling as a cleric. That would keep the party at 6 characters but would like to get the opinion of the rest of the party. Sorek has suggested he running a cleric as a 2nd character also, not my first choice.
Thoughts?
Fantora Ossman |
If you prefer to keep the party at 6 I'll go ahead and get a cleric ready so that we can keep moving. If we decide that botting or a second character for Sorek works then I can keep fighter Fantora so no harm done. I should be able to have a cleric ready to go by tomorrow.
Would there be any issue with the Ecclesitheurge Archetype from the Advance Class Guide (which is on the list of approved sources)?
Would the Hinterlander Prestige Class that Sorek brought up be an option? It's from the Paths of the Righteous player companion, so it's one I'd need to have more explicitly OK'd.
I'm thinking of going with an Elf who worships Darach-Albith (using the profile from this document,) if both of those options are OK.

IT YET LIVES!
Good to see that you're alive brvheart.
We can do the cleric switch over once we get back to the Ferry; I'm willing to keep running BadBastion until then.
brvheart |
I don't have a problem switching out the cleric here in RA. The new one could be a survivor of another party.
I know nothing about the PC so I will in this case put it to the party for a thumbs up or down.
Sorek |
While I am willing and would actually like to try my cleric as a 2nd character... it makes sense to reduce our number to six which is what I believe brvhearts other RA game is at.
I'm fine with the Ecclesitheurge Hinterlander Cleric

Rolling for HP
Cleric Levels (with one reroll): 5d8 ⇒ (1, 7, 5, 3, 5) = 21
Hinterlander Levels: 2d10 ⇒ (2, 2) = 4 (disappointing!)
So it would be 8 + 7 + 5 + 3 + 5 + 2 + 2 = 32 from levels.
Here's the proposed Cleric/Hinterlander. I dropped the Ecclesitheurge, and switched to a human Freya worshiper.

=Racial Traits=
Bonus Feat: Humans select one extra feat at 1st level.
Skilled: Humans gain an additional skill rank at first level and one additional rank whenever they gain a level.
=Cleric Features=
Weapon and Armor Proficiency: Clerics are proficient with all simple weapons, light armor, medium armor, and shields (except tower shields). Clerics are also proficient with the favored weapon of their deities (longbow and longsword).
Aura (Ex) (Good, Strong): A cleric of a chaotic, evil, good, or lawful deity has a particularly powerful aura corresponding to the deity’s alignment (see detect evil for details).
Channel Energy (Ex) (Positive): Regardless of alignment, any cleric can release a wave of energy by channeling the power of her faith through her holy (or unholy) symbol. This energy can be used to cause or heal damage, depending on the type of energy channeled and the creatures targeted.
A good cleric (or a neutral cleric who worships a good deity) channels positive energy and can choose to deal damage to undead creatures or to heal living creatures.
Channeling energy causes a burst that affects all creatures of one type (either undead or living) in a 30-foot radius centered on the cleric. The amount of damage dealt or healed is equal to 1d6 points of damage plus 1d6 points of damage for every two cleric levels beyond 1st (2d6 at 3rd, 3d6 at 5th, and so on). Creatures that take damage from channeled energy receive a Will save to halve the damage. The DC of this save is equal to 10 + 1/2 the cleric’s level + the cleric’s Charisma modifier. Creatures healed by channel energy cannot exceed their maximum hit point total—all excess healing is lost. A cleric may channel energy a number of times per day equal to 3 + her Charisma modifier. This is a standard action that does not provoke an attack of opportunity. A cleric can choose whether or not to include herself in this effect.
A cleric must be able to present her holy symbol to use this ability.
Domains (Good, War): A cleric’s deity influences her alignment, what magic she can perform, her values, and how others see her. A cleric chooses two domains from among those belonging to her deity. A cleric can select an alignment domain (Chaos, Evil, Good, or Law) only if her alignment matches that domain. If a cleric is not devoted to a particular deity, she still selects two domains to represent her spiritual inclinations and abilities (subject to GM approval). The restriction on alignment domains still applies.
Each domain grants a number of domain powers, dependent upon the level of the cleric, as well as a number of bonus spells. A cleric gains one domain spell slot for each level of cleric spell she can cast, from 1st on up. Each day, a cleric can prepare one of the spells from her two domains in that slot. If a domain spell is not on the cleric spell list, a cleric can prepare it only in her domain spell slot. Domain spells cannot be used to cast spells spontaneously.
In addition, a cleric gains the listed powers from both of her domains, if she is of a high enough level. Unless otherwise noted, activating a domain power is a standard action.
Touch of Good (Sp): You can touch a creature as a standard action, granting a sacred bonus on attack rolls, skill checks, ability checks, and saving throws equal to half your cleric level (minimum 1) for 1 round. You can use this ability a number of times per day equal to 3 + your Wisdom modifier.
Battle Rage (Sp): You can touch a creature as a standard action to give it a bonus on melee damage rolls equal to 1/2 your cleric level for 1 round (minimum +1). You can do so a number of times per day equal to 3 + your Wisdom modifier.
Spontaneous Casting: A good cleric (or a neutral cleric of a good deity) can channel stored spell energy into healing spells that she did not prepare ahead of time. The cleric can “lose” any prepared spell that is not an orison or domain spell in order to cast any cure spell of the same spell level or lower (a cure spell is any spell with “cure” in its name).
Bonus Languages: A cleric’s bonus language options include Celestial, Abyssal, and Infernal (the languages of good, chaotic evil, and lawful evil outsiders, respectively). These choices are in addition to the bonus languages available to the character because of her race.
=Hinterlander Features=
Weapon and Armor Proficiency: A hinterlander is proficient with all simple weapons, longbows, light armor, medium armor, and shields (except tower shields).
Favored Enemy (Ex) (Undead): At 1st level, a hinterlander chooses a favored enemy from the list below. This functions like the ranger class feature of the same name, except that the hinterlander gains an additional ability corresponding with the favored enemy chosen. Additionally, at 8th level, he can select a new favored enemy and the bonus for one such enemy increases by 2 (rather than at 5th and 10th levels).
Undead: Arrows loosed from a hinterlander’s bow are infused with divine power and deal full damage to any undead that are incorporeal, as if the arrows had the ghost touch weapon special ability.
Master Archer (Ex): At 1st level, and again at 3rd and 5th levels, a hinterlander gains a bonus feat from the following list, even if he doesn’t meet the prerequisites: Deadeye’s Blessing, Far Shot, Focused Shot, Point-Blank Shot, and Rapid Shot. At 3rd level, he adds Improved Precise Shot, Parting Shot, Point Blank Master, and Manyshot to the list. At 5th level, he adds Pinpoint Targeting and Shot on the Run to the list. The benefits of these feats apply only when the hinterlander wears light, medium, or no armor.
Fast Movement (Ex): At 2nd level, a hinterlander’s base land speed increases by 10 feet.
Favored Terrain (Hinterland) (Ex): At 2nd level, when a hinterlander is within a 10-mile radius of a settlement with a population of 2,000 or fewer individuals, he gains a +2 bonus on initiative checks and Knowledge (geography), Perception, Stealth, and Survival checks. A hinterlander traveling through this terrain leaves no trail and can’t be tracked (although he can leave a trail if he so desires). At 9th level, these initiative and skill bonuses increase to +4, and the bonuses function as long as the hinterlander is within 20 miles of a settlement with a population of 2,000 or fewer.

I totally give my non-biased thumbs up to Lyssa! She won't have the archery oomph that Fantora did, but will still give moderate ranged support while covering our clericing needs! No fancy new mechanics, just a cleric who has the advantage of being here now (and who will be better able to handle incorporeal undead if we see many more of them.)
Remember, give thumbs up to Lyssa!

I'm convinced by her yard sign "Lyssa for Cleric"
You have my vote
Edit :for simplicities sake maybe and because our previous Cleric was already 8th lvl... Maybe Lyssa and everyone else could level up to 8th now so we're all on the same page

I'm fine if brvheart wants us all to level at the same time. Bastion, Grelldar and Fantora were the ones who would have been slightly behind, but not by much. I figured that I'd just do with Lyssa whatever we were going to do with Fantora/Bastion as they're the ones she'd replace.

On an unrelated note, I've sent PMs to Baltor and Lomyldyr that I don't know that they've noticed. If you see this and haven't seen the PMs, I'll ask you to check your PMs.

OK, I am going home for Christmas. Posting may get spotty (or maybe not, it's going to be a weird season). Normal posting will resume as of Jan 6, 2021.

@brvheart, can we have some map cleanup/editing? Bastion isn't in play any more, and Fantora has changed into Lyssa Tanner... Not to mention the dead cultist, the dead specter, and the hound archon should all be gone.

I was without power for 3 days then Paizo would not let me in again until now, sorry guys

Welcome back....Hope you've thawed out a bit from the freezing temps
Grelldar of Oenopion |
Thinking ahead, some q's for Brvheart:
Given I'm still not too clear on your allowed sources list, will you allow
Also, how do you handle the saves for temp negative levels transforming to permanent 24 hours later; is it exactly 24 hrs (allowing us to pre-buff for the 24 hr mark with a revised prepared spell list...) or just the next time we would prepare spells/reset 24 hr abilities? Also, are the saves simultaneous or one after another?
