What a perfect occasion to roll Snake Eyes, Honeylyn! I'm laughing my behind off.
Yes, you have roleplayed the bad dice rolls really well :)
@GM, I'm adding 1 XP to my Gang Enforcer theme as I used my Unsavoury Reputation as a negative on that last roll - does that work?
You would know Penkus by reputation at least. He was a better-than-competent smuggler, who would have been a real force if it weren't for the drinking. And the fits of indiscriminate violence that come when he drinks. Even in Shadowshore, beating a client into a coma with a broken oar is bad for business.
My OCD requires me to tell you that it's Vanthus. The dwarf misspelled his name in the note. Carry on.
Noted. But you're talking about Penkus in the past tense, is he dead then?

Going to be leaving tomorrow on a family trip to Milwaukee for a few days. I'll return on Friday, so if a post is needed from me in the meantime, please feel free to bot me. See you then! :D

Thank you.
Yes, add XP to Gang Enforcer theme. Add XP to your themes every time you use the weakness tag. That's what they're there for. If I ever don't call it out, chalk it up to chronic GM brain.
Sorry, I didn't add: Penkus hasn't been around much the last year or so. But apparently he was here with Vanthus five weeks ago.

Trail in the Woods |

Just chiming in to let everybody know that I'm here and following with interest.
I made this character far too much a fish out of water, didn't I? He really has nothing to offer right now

Marking XP for the unsavoury reputation tag in my most recent roll means I've marked three XP in that theme. What options are there? Do I add another tag or is there other stuff I can do?

I didn't give my PC any starting wealth or equipment -- just let the Master of Ceremonies dictate what resources I may or may not have at the start.
.
Also, sorry for my slow posting this week -- mostly it's that I don't feel a lot of roleplay for Svetozar Lanezra here, sorta like Trail-in-the-Woods -- but also I've been struggling with a bout of insomnia this week and at work each day I've been sluggish, sorry & sleepy.

No apology necessary. Life happens to us all.

Congratulations!
Taking a tag is the basic option.
You may instead Mark Promise (which will allow for some pretty potent advancements to your character when you reach 5).
You may instead choose one of the following special improvements:
* Face from the Past: Once per session, when you meet a character from your Past for the first time in the game, you may describe how your last meeting went and give them an appropriate tier-2 status.
* Lessons Learned: Once per session, when you roll a total of 6 or less, you may explain how this situation is familiar to you from your Past, reroll the dice, and take the new result.
* Not Letting Go: Whenever you burn a tag from this theme for Power, you can mark Abandon on any other theme instead of marking that tag as scratched.
* Put It Behind Me: Whenever anyone invokes one of this theme’s weakness tags, you can count the tag as a power tag instead. Mark Abandon instead of Improve.
* Vivid Memory: Once per session, when a weakness tag from this theme is invoked, you may discover (ask the Narrator) or reveal (decide yourself, Narrator approves) an important detail from your Past and gain an appropriate story tag or a tier-2 emotional status.
(the special improvements depend on the type of theme you have. This one seems to be a Past theme to me.

Thanks, that's great - I love the Put It Behind Me, I think that works well for this theme. I'll take that.
I think we're all agreed to pay this guy the 7 gold he's asking, so good to go on my part.

I can't imagine anyone not getting in the little boat -- we're not gonna wait for everyone to post a 'Yes' are we, before moving forward?
+1

Is it totally dark down below now?
I don't know that we ever really got into gear. I would hope someone brought a lamp or torch, otherwise I will have to try again to make some light.
Correct that we didn't get into gear. I don't really feel like this system wants us to track every single thing you're carrying, but we are playing an AP built for a system that does make that assumption. Going forward, we may want to use backpack tags a bit more.
For now, I leave it to you guys. If anyone was carrying a source of light around with them while they were asking around the city, they would have it now.

Or I can do a little Narrator Fiat solution. :)

Now to light them. I may have to see if I can light one without melting the whole thing at once.

Weekends are hit-or-miss for me for posting. This weekend I was 100% in on our tabletop Greyhawk campaign in Medegia. Mondays are often my busiest days; I try to post in the mornings but alas, especially on a Monday, it can be later. Note that this week is the new Financial Quarter so I will be SLAMMED with accounting and IRS stuff. But actually, it doesn't feel as nightmarish a Quarter as it often does so, wish me luck that it goes easy. BTW, I had a GREAT weekend of gaming -- and a GREAT Monday at my business for profit. So I'm a' Happy!

I tottally get that, GM to GM :)

Happy Independence Day to my fellow Americans!
And happy 101st birthday to the Caesar salad (Caesar Cardini invented it in Mexico in 1924)!

Anirtak |

So... now that we're in an honest to goodness combat, we are going to make sure everyone gets a turn before we move on.
I will do my best to resolve each action as it happens, but if you're waiting for your turn, go ahead and post. If this requires some ret-conning to keep thigns straight, I'd rather do that than have each round take a week.

Trail in the Woods |

Is the geography such that Trail can get in there without knocking over more people? Perhaps by doing some cat like acrobatic stuff?

Any salad is a Caesar salad if you stab it enough times :)

Yes. If you narrate yourself squeezing past, you'll be able to. You'll have to take the [tight passage] as a -1 on your roll.
If you take a consequence, though, I get to narrate what happens. If you - for example - succeed on slipping past the others and attacking with your claws, but take a consequence, then the consequrnce won't take away your success. It could be as simple as you taking a status in return.
Svetozar failed on his roll AND ignored the tight passage in his post, so his consequences reflected that.
