Hey Gang --
I sent my brain ahead to GenCon to save on shipping. It seemed like a great idea at the time.
_____
So meanwhile, if you have a burning question, need a VO call or have other problem, here are some people who can help point you in the right direction:

No, for Starfinder you need to move to our sister lodge: Castamir Station
The bot buddies are not nearly as sophisticated as the androids at that place :-)

With Legacy of the First World a validated source now, my Order of the Tome Cavalier is contemplating converting to the Order of the Blossom - so my question is, how does a Society Cavalier go about switching Orders? I know it's a prerogative of the class and doesn't need retraining.

Cavaliers are allowed to switch orders? I never knew that. I would have thought that would fall under the retraining rules.
I'd recommend starting a new thread in the PFS subforum to ask about this. You're more likely to find someone with detailed knowledge of how cavaliers work in PFS that way.

A cavalier cannot change his order without undertaking a lengthy process to dedicate himself to a new cause. When this choice is made, he immediately loses all of the benefits from his old order. He must then follow the edicts of his new order for one entire level without gaining any benefits from that order. Once accomplished, he gains all of the bonuses from his new order. Note that the names of these orders might vary depending upon the campaign setting or GM's preference
Bolded the portion I found relevant. On a precursory look, I'm not seeing anything specifically changing this for Society purposes. So it appears you would need to have a GM mark on your Chronicle the change, and then wait an entire level before gaining the benefits of the new order.
I could be wrong here, but that's what I see without further research.
Magabeus |
Ultimate campaign says that retraining your order works as set out in APG 33 and See also retraining feats.
I see nothing that would be applicable in the retraining feats part: I agree with GM RePete's assessment.
GM Granta |
there doesn't seem to be scope (in PFS) to reset an Order.
The "Additional Resources" explicitly says that PFS cavaliers replace Expert Trainer with Skill Focus [Handle Animal], but does not alter or remove the ability to change orders. For me, that strongly implies that this part of the class description is still available--and I would record it the way GM RePete recommends.

I'll be at Gen Con from Wednesday until Monday, so I won't be around much, but Subtier 10-11 can get tricky and complex VERY quickly. So if you wouldn't mind checking in, we can work towards a smooth table.
Would the following players check in to both DISCUSSION and GAMEPLAY.
Granta
Magabeus
Thereus Silver Crusader (GMErich)
Pirate Rob
miteke
GM Andrew

So what's this about a new special to ring in Season 9? Will we get an opportunity to sign up for and play that on here?

Aaaaa, this is totally random and irrelevant, but I'm super proud, so I wanna say it anyways! @_@ I'm not going to be at Gencon, but my Confirmation will! My local VL was so impressed when I ran it that he asked me to make up extra props for him (I'd made a bunch of little notes for the opening and closed 'em with a wax seal) and to borrow my maps and notes. c:
SO! I won't be at Gencon, but I'll totally be there as prep and spirit? :D <3
(Also, I'm super flattered and pleased that someone liked my kit so much!)

Congrats. I have to admit, having been playing PbP exclusively, I miss the time put into physical props, notes, maps and layouts for real miniatures in F2F games. Digital maps and notes are the best we can do in this media.
Well done!
GM Blake |
From memory the Assault on Absalom needs to be run as part of a sufficiently sized con with RVC permission - so probably not for a long while :p
Prepping this for GenCon. Table minimum is actually only 5. They're just super excited that we're setting a table record (188+).
TriOmegaZero |
It will be convention exclusive for the better part of the season however, I believe. Solstice Scar will be exclusive for a few months after initial debut of each part before being open to run anywhere that meets table minimum. (Since it 'debuted' at PaizoCon, Part A will be open after GenCon, as I understand it.)

Nicely done, Hiyami.

Per the blog it was mainly an update to the visual aspect of the guide and some minor additions of the questions answered on the forums by paizo staffers.

I haven't looked it over yet, but here's what my local VL said:
- Larger, easier to read font and improved layout.
- Longer, more-detailed Community Standards.
- The "newly created" clause is gone from applying-to-first-level.
- Wayfinder is statted out in Guide.
- GM-star re-roll mistake is fixed.
- New section talking about ACs/Familiars/... and magic items, including the Extra Item Slot customized for PFS.
- Re-rolls are now explicitly once per chronicle sheet, instead of session.
- Longer write-up for VO descriptions.

Any sense when we should expect new Faction Journal cards?
They are up now
Xynen |
I could print them, but since I only play PFS on these forums there's not really a need for it. The older ones came in full sheet form so the objectives were right under the bonuses which made it easier. I could rearrange the images with another program but I'm not sure why after 8 seasons of full sheet versions the half sheet is now the only one available.

Government cutbacks.

Even for in-person play I prefer the full page ones. I always have it sitting in a pile of 8.5x11 chronicle sheets, inventory sheets, and character sheets, so it's easier to file if they are all the same size.
Thankfully I have no characters needing the S9 sheet yet, so I'll hold out and hope they put the full page ones up.
GM DevilDoc |
I don't know what this may mean for any future printings, but I stopped by the Sagamore Ballroom today and all of the faction cards they had laid out for tomorrow were the half sheets.

Since it seems like a popular request, I took the file and made these full sheet versions of the Faction Journal Cards for Season 9 for anyone that wants them. Let me know if anyone has issues with the link.
