Aaaa, I think the "domain power is a standard action" covers it! c: Thank you so much for the clarification. ^o^
Not quite. Domain Powers and Domain Spells are two completely different things and should not be confused. Domain Powers are supernatural abilities granted at specific levels. Domain Spells are spells that can be prepared in addition to your spells per day, and include (such as in your case with True Strike) spells that are not on the clerics spell list.

GM Hmm |

The general rule of thumb I apply in these situations where the rules don't specify the kind of action is always go with standard until you find a clear ruling otherwise.
This is an excellent way to go!
Hmm

GM Andrew |

Well, supernatural abilities (Su) are always standard actions unless specified. Spell-like abilities (Sp) are always the same as the spell they mimic if there is one unless specified otherwise. Actual sells (like domain spells) are the exact same as the spell and shouldn't differ at all.
Usually where you run into trouble is spell-like abilities that don't mimic a spell and don't specify an action. They are few, but they do exist.
Another important issue people miss is that spell-like abilities (Sp) provoke AoOs (just like spells) and must be cast defensively to avoid it. This does not apply to supernatural abilities (Su).

GM Blake |

Hey Gang...
I have heard rumors that PBP Gameday scenarios have started dropping for some folks! Is this true?
Hmm
I received my GenCon scenarios but not the GD SFS special. Since I'm only running SF in part one, that confounds the issue. I'm betting I won't get that any sooner than Aug. 17.

1 person marked this as a favorite. |

I think the root of hiyami's confusion is that HeroLab lists it as "1 action." So, the answer that she's really looking for has nothing to do with domain powers, spells, or supernatural abilities. The answer she's looking for is this:
1 action = 1 standard action
It's just shorthand, that's all. If it were any other type of action (move, swift, free, etc.) those specific words would be present.

GM Faelyn |

I have not received my Gameday scenario yet. Now just to clarify, was I supposed to do anything specific beyond register the game on the website? If so, then that would explain why I have not received mine.

GM Faelyn |

Okay, just wanted to make sure I didn't drop the ball on my end. Thanks for the info Granta! I'll keep an eye on things and its still a few weeks out anyway.

Other than signing up I haven't done anything. So far, two GM's have already PM'd me letting me know a table is ready for the group. Given that we have almost 3 more weeks until the event kicks off, I am not worried about the other's I have signed up for.

Should "The Silverhex Chronicles" be worth 1 experience...or 6???
My Psychic, or rather, a pregen surrogate for him back when that was necessary, had that adventure (the only character of mine to do it just yet), and I recorded him as having received 1 XP, but I've just heard the adventure should actually be worth 6.

GM Hiyami |

"Ahem!" An elderly gnome slowly steps into the lodge, leaning heavily on his cane. He draws a single piece of parchment from his belt pouch and attempts to project his voice. "Would--" His voice cracks in an alarming way and he coughs to recover before clearing his throat and trying again. "Penumbra, Son of Cayden, Hadzi, Garzen Marbleface, Little Dio, and... whoever Sedoriku is sending - please assemble here!"
---
Now that we have everyone, would Eric Collins - France, GM PDK, Ietsuna, TheSuperDodo, Will Huston, and Sedoriku assemble in preparation of Gameday VI's #7-10: The Consortium Compact?

GM Hmm |

Hiyami, have you gotten your scenario support yet?
Hmm

GM Ladile |

I've not gotten mine either but like hiyami I figured that they're just doing it in waves - plus I know they need to get all the stuff out for folks running at GenCon and that takes priority right now.

![]() |

It's worth 1xp. The subject has been pretty heavily canvassed, the rewards are not cumulative.
I thought so...just, y'know, a DM had said otherwise.

Shifty wrote:It's worth 1xp. The subject has been pretty heavily canvassed, the rewards are not cumulative.I thought so...just, y'know, a DM had said otherwise.
The wordings can be confusing as I had that same impression the first time reading through some of the cumulative quest. But it was definitely clarified to be not cumulative xp.

GM Hmm |

Checking in again on the Scenario Support thing, because I know there was another set of drops just now.
Who is still missing Session 1 Scenario Support? They seem to be doing this in rolling batches, probably because we are a Tier 1* size convention, and they're still getting scenarios out to GenCon GMs.**
Hmm
____
* Tier 1 Conventions are the largest size conventions. We're ranked up there with the biggest conventions based on number of tables that we're running this year! And we're still growing!
** Like me! Just received my long overdue packet of PSA materials to prep.

GM Hmm |

Thanks guys. This is helpful. Keep the reports coming!
Hmm

I got my scenario, and I am not even running it until second slot.

![]() |

I've not got the starfinder ones, but I'm guessing they won't drop until after the 17th at the earliest.

![]() |

Will there be a 2nd drop later for session 2? I submitted a game for session 2 last week, which I assumed would have missed the deadline for this drop.

GM Hmm |

I got my scenario, and I am not even running it until second slot.
If you were good enough to get your scenarios for Session II listed before the Session I Support deadline, I submitted both to Tonya. I wanted to make sure you all had plenty of prep time.

GM Hmm |

There will be a second drop.
The Scenario Support Deadline for Session II is September 4th.
That means I will not be submitting scenario support until September 5th at the earliest, and there'll be a wait afterwards once it is submitted for it to drop from Tonya.
Basically, I will be submitting for Tables Numbered 140+ that are in Session Two. If you want scenario support for Session Two, please get your tables in before the September deadline.
I've not got the starfinder ones, but I'm guessing they won't drop until after the 17th at the earliest.
It is my assumption that all Starfinder Society scenarios will drop after the 17th at this point.
Hmm

GM Faelyn |

I received my drop today as well, Hmm. Thank you for looking into this. Now time to get some prep work in.

hiyami |

Here's a question for people that have reported sessions for Adventure Paths! c: I was reporting for Curse of the Crimson Throne's Edge of Anarchy and saw that it says GM 2 under Prestige Points and GM Ranking: +2 under Notes.
Um, if you don't mind, what does that mean? ;A; I could totally be wrong, but I was under the impression that if you GM something, you get full credit for it, so I thought I got 3XP and 4PP that I could apply to a character. If that's wrong, please, please correct me so I don't derp it up. @_@
Thank you! c:

![]() |

Remember, it's the chronicles, not the online reporting that is authoritative. The first time you GM an AP, you are right about the XP and PP; the other things you're quoting I _believe_ mean that it counts like 2 scenarios in terms of calculating your GM stars.

GM Hmm |

I am looking forward to seeing that first star on you, Hiyami.
Hmm

hiyami |

Ohhhh, thank you for the clarification! I'd actually forgotten about the GM stars and how they, um. Are super useful! /shot Now I feel silly! And also a little bit excited, since I've just been provided with a goal/milestone. I guess I'll be up to five games GM'd on Saturday, since Edge of Anarchy counts as two! \o/
I actually just went back to the book and looked at that bit again and realized that it says that you get a number of rerolls per star - that's, um. Over your career, right? Not per game? (This is definitely not me settling a dispute with a friend when we looked at that, nope, not at all!)
Thank you all so much~ c:

That's a typo Hyami you get a bonus ON rerolls equal to your gm stars not bonus OF rerolls equal to your gm stars should get corrected in he new guide

GM Hmm |

Me: Hey, when are we going to see the new Roleplaying Guild Guids for PFS and SFS?
Thursty: Soon™
____
As GenCon is around the corner, we should be seeing those guides in the next couple days, I hope. Yes, you get a bonus to your reroll equal to the number of stars you have. I get to add four now!
You also get to use stars to refuel replays. They recharge every year if you GM regularly, so you can replay a favorite scenario or two. For instance, I am using a star replay to play Overflow Archives during PBP Gameday VI, and am so looking forward to that game.
Plus, the stars look cool in your header when you post in the PFS forums. Woot. My first star snuck up on me. I didn't realize that modules counted double, so mine showed up on the sixth game I GMed. Boy, was I surprised to see it there!
Hmm
