I applied for a game and while waiting decided to check out the other threads. Interesting reads too.

Back again! Glad to be back in an AC environment. It got hooooooot! Good thing the camp we stayed at had a swimming area, too bad the lake was down 2 feet and the water started at the craggy rocks rather than the pebbles.
Well let me know. I haven't played as a player online in years, then months IRL.
Yay! Glad you're back. I've been applying to almost every game in sight on recruitment and I might be in trouble if I get in all of them, lol!
I will definitely be putting some kind of a game together in the next few weeks. Just not sure what I will land on yet. Let me know if you have a particular module or AP in mind.I applied for a game and while waiting decided to check out the other threads. Interesting reads too.
I noticed that! Going to take a run at Ameiko, eh? ^_~ Would be fun if we both made that game.
ok get round 9 finished and then I will get the undead attacks done.
Oh! I'll have to post another round shortly then.
I did a more detailed accounting of the buffs and debuffs in play using a combat round summary, like I tend to use in my own games. I'll spoiler the details since it's a lot.
R0: Rai casts Shield on self (+4 shield bonus to AC, negates MM)
Alembic and Seraphina have Mage Armor (+4 armor bonus to AC)
R1: Ingvarr issues Battle Cry (+1 morale to attack, +4 morale to save vs Fear and reroll if failed for 10 rounds, last round:10) and begins Raging Song (no casting, AC - 1/ +2 Str, +2 Con, +2 Will) Allies can accept or refuse every round active, unconscious allies auto-accept. Song kept active by Ingvarr
Rognar casts Bless (+1 morale bonus to attack and on saves vs fear effects. For 5 mins)
Note: Bless is wasted while Battle Cry is active since morale bonuses don’t stack. Sorry Rognar. Bless will kick back in once Battle Cry expires. (R11)
Toki’s banner bonus to saves is also negated by Battle Cry since it is also morale.
R2: Rognar casts Prayer (+1 luck to attack and damage, enemies suffer -1 to both, 40’ radius for 5 rounds, last round 7)
Sera casts Shield on self (+4 shield bonus to AC, negates MM)
R3: Rognar casts Consecrate (Undead suffer -2 to attack, damage and saves for 10 hours!)
Sera casts Protection from Evil on Meir (+2 deflection to AC and a +2 resistance on saves for 5 mins, reroll failed save vs evil mental control with +2 bonus)
R4: Alembic casts slow on up to 5 Vampire spawn (-1 to attack, AC, and Reflex saves, plus staggered and reduced to half move rate for 5 rounds, last round:8)
Sera casts Protection from Evil on self (+2 deflection to AC and a +2 resistance on saves for 5 mins, reroll failed save vs evil mental control with +2 bonus)
R5: Alembic casts slow on up to 5 Vampire spawn (-1 to attack, AC, and Reflex saves, plus staggered and reduced to half move rate for 5 rounds, last round:9)
R6: Alembic casts slow on up to 5 Vampire spawn (-1 to attack, AC, and Reflex saves, plus staggered and reduced to half move rate for 5 rounds, last round:10)
Hundor casts Shield on self (+4 shield bonus to AC, negates MM)
R7: Rognar casts Enlarge Person on Koldur (+2 size bonus to Str, -2 size penalty to Dex , -1 penalty to attack and AC due to increased size. Reach increased to 10 ft.)
All allies benefit from Battle Cry (+1 to attack, +4 to save vs Fear) until it ends after round 10 and then Bless would kick back in (+1 to attack, +1 to save vs Fear). All allies accepting Raging song (which is everyone save Alembic, I think) take -1 to AC, +2 Str, +2 Con, +2 Will. Prayer grants +1 to attack and damage.
***
So all told, we have +2 to attack, +1 to damage for ranged attackers, (+1 to attack R8 on unless Prayer is recast)
+3 to attack and +2 to damage for melee attackers with the increase to STR, (+2 to attack, +1 to damage R8 & on unless Prayer is recast)
-1 AC and +5 HP, +1 Fort save, +2 Will save and +6 to Will saves vs Fear for accepting Raging Song
Sera has her personal spell effects listed in her top line above ^, Meir’s adjusted stats are as follows:
AC 19, touch 13, flat-footed 17 (+2 Dex, +6 natural, -1 size, +2 deflection vs Evil )
Temporary Bonus Apllied Protection from Evil
hp 43 (5d12)+10 +5 = 48
Fort +9, Ref +8, Will +6, +8 vs Evil, +12 vs Fear
Enemy Debuffs:
-1 to attack and -1 to damage from Prayer until round 8 (Johanna also cast Prayer, but it went to waste unless she retcons it)
Otherwise, -2 to attack, damage and saves if in range of Consecrate (20’ radius on Rognar)
Most of vampire spawn should be slowed. (depending on position and saves from Alembic’s spells)
The “theatre of the mind” rules at work here seem to favor maximum effect, which could have affected all 15. Quite a few should also be blinded and dazzled but not past round 6.

Seraphina Medvyed |

Sorry for double post, I just realized Johanna didn't cast prayer, she simply said a prayer as RP. She can't actually cast yet. My mistake!
Can't edit the post anymore, so I'll just retcon the retcon line... lol!

Koldur of the Axe |

Given my luck. I seldom managed to get into games and frankly those I do get into don't have a long life. lol

Hundor |

I wasn't sure, thx Sera!

Koldur of the Axe |

Round 13!
Koldur looks menancing!!!!

Seraphina Medvyed |

Round 50??? This combat is a buff-caster's worst nightmare! >_<
Can I retcon when I cast Protection from Evil on Hundor? I'll have to recast it on Sera and Meir in my next post.
I'm back to school shopping with my daughter today, but will probably work on it tonight.

Seraphina Medvyed |

Ok, have cast it on him in round 50 instead of 18 where 32 rounds of it would have gone to waste.
Sorry, this is literally the first time I've seen a combat run to these kinds of rounds. Having trouble managing resources with such a big/long fight.

Koldur of the Axe |

lol Unexpected long combats?
Our foe does not prescribed to the within 10 rounds limit.
They like protracted combat so as to better monologue you.
Insert Cut scene.

GM Wolf |

Message to all games:
I AM A LITTLE FED UP WITH THIS... IF I AM SLACKING ON POSTING TALK TO ME! IN ALL MY GAMES I EXPECT YOU TO POST AT LEAST ONCE A DAY! I AM ON THE VERGE OF CLOSING DOWN SOME OF MY CAMPAIGNS FOR LACK OF PARTICIPATION! I SHOULDNT HAVE TO MESSAGE YOU, PLEASE CHECK YOUR GAME AT LEAST ONCE A DAY!
I am just making a blanket statement to all games, so you can't say I didn't tell you. Some games are better you should know who you are but even in those games we have people who are slacking!!!
Honestly I feel bad about most of my games, a little bit of encouragement would go a long way!!!

GM Wolf |

lol, nice Koldur. He was going to say a lot more but Johanna's response was rather final.
You could think of it really as three encounters but I thought I would keep counting rounds as the thrill of battle was still upon you. I thought I would give you chances to do things... I was sorely mistaken. Now we will find how many PCs have been scared off with such a long wait!
We have 8 PCs and in the last week we have seen 10 posts?!?!?!?! Just a guess cuz I don't want to be fuming. I know I haven't posted much and I will get there, but now it feels like Koldur and Seraphina are the only PCs.
I was also disappointed that only one of you have interacted with NPCs much, let alone PCs...
I am mad at myself for not being a better proactive DM.

Ingvarr Battlecaller |

We all have room to improve, GM Wolf. For myself, I posted round 50 actions on Wednesday morning about 7 hours after you announced round 50, and have been waiting since for others to post and your summary of round 50 (about 4 days).
I assume with your most recent post you are calling for actions for round 51 and 52. Is there something more you expect from us than to post our actions for the round and wait for the resolution of those actions in your round summary?
I guess my suggestion is to be clear with your expectations and specific with your instructions.

Koldur of the Axe |

Well Johanna pretty much told him to bring it on so I expect him to bring it on but really. Deeper darkness, trolls and he still refuses to come nearer?
I have two Elixir of Darksight purchased from our alchemist earlier but I was leery of breaking it out but seeing this, might have to do so.
BTW in case most of you don't know ( i know most of you don't as you're new), we do have a alchemist NPC to aid us in crafting most if not all alchemical concoctions.
You can get it at half price but need to wait as he crafts them. The man does run a business.
Another alternate is we gather everyone into the tower, shove a middle finger at the undead and activate it. lol.
We then clear out the tower ourselves. :P

I say use it. I can craft that too, though it is pricey.
Who is the alchemist? Bokken?
All Sera can really do now is heal and buff the frontliner's fannies to a high shine. So get your hiney up here, and prepare to be shiny! =P
Maybe she could blast again if she can get out of the darkness. Meir could get her above it if that's what we want to do.
Alternatively, we could withdraw enough every 5 round or so and let Meir unleash his breath weapon.

Koldur of the Axe |

Who is the alchemist? Bokken?
An Alchemist NPC we rescued, Perrin.
Yes Bokken is still here but Perrin is a lot friendlier to us.Also Infernal Healing is going to take a full round to cast no?

Seraphina Medvyed |

Also Infernal Healing is going to take a full round to cast no?
Ah! You're right. In that case she'll have to cast the Protection from Evil on Sable, then.

Koldur of the Axe |

Given the nature of the spell.
Can Koldur see Ingvarr signal?
Or Sable fighting the troll?

Ingvarr Battlecaller |

If those black circles depict the borders of the darkness spell, I think Ingvarr and Koldur are currently both out of the darkness.

GM Wolf |

Koldur you are not on the front line. You are near Ingvarr, you can see and hear him. As you drink it you can see through the spell. I will need to add the other baddies. You can't see Sable until you drink the elixir.
Yes the big black circles are the borders of the darkness spell.
The only ones in the deeper darkness are Sable, Hundor, Johanna, Seraphina, Toki, and maybe Meir. *Phone post

Koldur of the Axe |

Time to drink and join in the Havoc then.

Ingvarr Battlecaller |

I thought the spawn were gone? We had 20 rounds or so before round 50 to shoot them with magic arrows before the darkness came in and I though they all had x’s in them. Did more just show up?
Also, Ingvarr had the people use the barricade as a way to form the front line in the dark, asking Sable to call in the dragon’s fire, so hopefully the dragon was able to position the fire not to hit allies.

As I understood it, the spawn came over the barrier as mist but then their commander called them off so he could attempt a parley. Johanna refused to negotiate, so they are coming back at us now.
Since a Troll is Large and those in front of Meir are Small, could we flavor it so he aims the breath weapon high and save Hundor, Toki and Wartooth from being roasted like marshmallows? Maybe they could duck and reflex save for a quarter damage?

Skyreave |
Hey folks so this is Vrog Skyreaver/Alembic. Sorry about the spam if we were in multiple games together.
Unfortunately, I have some bad news. I currently do not have access to my main account. I have opened a ticket to Paizo, but from the email I got back from them, it's not looking like I'll be able to access my account any time soon.
I would have posted sooner but I didn't even think about making an alt until now.
As it's not fair to everyone to make them wait, I'm going to withdraw from the game. If I get me account fixed and the game is still ongoing, I'll reach back out to see about joining.
Thank you for letting me play with you all, and I hope you all have a great game!

GM Wolf |

The mists would have retreated with the true vampire, yes you could have shot at them. But no one chose to make actions during that time...
Either way Meir made sure the troll was centered in the attack so Sable likely got burnt. I would be fine with Seraphina's suggestion thus only the troll was burnt. No skeletons.
Oh wow Vrog, I hope you get it all settled! Best regards!

Seraphina Medvyed |

I know it may feel we have a lot of players but this is Kingmaker. And always things happen, I expect two players to be gone before the next month. I hope to be pleasantly surprised!
Well, it took almost two months. Surprise! XD
Sorry to lose Alembic, but best wishes and see you around the boards!

I think that makes the most sense to me. Meir would be able to hear Sera and Hundor even if he could not see them. I don't think he would risk torching her and if Hundor is already hurt, both BW and Fireball combined could possibly kill him.
I have to run out to an appointment, but will be back and updating in a few hours!

Koldur of the Axe |

If Vrog sees this.
I'm always happy to wait until you rejoin us. :P

And Ingvarr asked Sable to guide the fire strike from the dragon (with him being adjacent to the troll and all), but curiously Sable never spoke up, or the dragon didn't wait for him to, or both...

I think that might have been a misunderstanding at your wording. You said "at Sable's direction" and meant for Sable to call out instructions. But Meir took it to mean "in the direction of Sable".
It's worth noting that a Dragonkin doesn't normally speak Common, so maybe it was lost in translation... lol!
@Koldur, You shouldn't have been hit by the breath weapon. I added the cone to the map so you can see.

HA! I could totally see that! Prepositions are not the easiest in any language, though Meir might have wondered why I wanted him to breathe fire at Sable. Ingvarr will have to pick his words more carefully when speaking to Meir, or just say them in Draconic, I suppose.

Koldur of the Axe |

Ingvarr Battlecaller wrote:@Koldur, You shouldn't have been hit by the breath weapon. I added the cone to the map so you can see.
Really? That makes a lot of difference. the map doesn't turn up well on my phone....
I do need to smash the Darkness orbs.

Koldur of the Axe |

All good. Get to your classes, we'll mow down more undead.

Koldur of the Axe |

if the second skeleton with the darkness gem is down, then I'm going after vampire.
All vampires needs to be staked. or decapitated. or generally something that'll put them down.

GM Wolf |

No worries Wolf if it went round by round it probably would have taken 6 months to run :)
Too true! Most battles take about a week and that is only about 5 rounds.
"Press the attack. Harpies one of you fly out follow the mist of the leader. We will track it down and end this."
You may want to use diplomacy to get one of them do to it. Even those you have allied with look at you with reserve.

Johanna "The Cat" Sinclair |

"Go as a group. Two of you always keep it in sight as the others fly and spread out to report back. Leave us a trail to follow. Do not engage it. Stick to the air and retreat if it takes form and tries to attack. You can do it. Let us end this tonight. Do it for your own freedom from this."
