BACKGROUND
Xara grew up in a small Brevoyan village called Nottan’s Keep. Though her parents and younger brother Malan showed no signs of her unusual heritage, there have always been stories down her father’s line of a great hero of the family tree adventuring abroad and returning home many years later with a silver-haired babe-in-arms, with no evidence of a mother.

Like most Brevoyan peasants, Xara kept to herself and her chores, one of which was dealing with her rapscallion troublemaker of a little brother. Her attentions did little, however, to control her wayward sibling, and when he came of age, he fell afoul of local bandits. When the local lord’s men came riding through to wipe out the brigands, Xara’s whole family got caught in the crossfire—the nobles and would-be-nobles never even noticed or cared about the peasants in their way. Only grace and happenstance caused Xara to be in the family barn at the time, and out of harm’s way.

Alone and grief-stricken, Xara turned to Grandmother Crow for comfort, and to her surprise, she got an answer. One evening, while tending the graves of her family, a strange glowing ball of light descended from the sky and spoke comfort to her. Her Celestial blood awoke, and the lantern archon infused her with some of its power and grace. It also gave her a purpose—to protect the weak, poor, and innocent from those who would exploit them, like bandits, and from those who would ignore and harm them, even when they are supposed to be tasked with their protection, like nobles. True noblemen must be exceedingly rare, and now Xara Ozolins would take up the mantle they were never worthy to bear.

DESCRIPTION
Xara holds herself with a strong and confident determination, using every inch of her 5’10” frame to dominate any room in which she enters. She keeps her modest clothing smooth and spotless, and her exotic silver hair swept back off her face and accessorized with sapphire hair pins. While many would first mistake her hair as a sign of age, a second look at the smooth lines of her other-worldly features shows her outsider heritage—her eyes, a dark, cobalt blue, seem to gaze down from heaven itself.

Like Andoletta, her patron, Xara brooks no foolishness. She is serious, focused, and dedicated to her cause. While she has no tolerance for those who derive enjoyment at the expense of others, even in jest, she is not without a sense of fun, and she enjoys her needlepoint, good conversation, and fair games of chance and skill.
