Alright, some good news: Our perma-roommate will be leaving around the 19th, or else at the end of the month! A mutual friend is moving into town and getting a two-bedroom, and she'll be moving in with them. Huge relief for us.
Also, I'm past the worst of the sickness, so aside from a case of quarantine loneliness, all I'm really dealing with now is a nasty cough. Today was a baking day (baked a smores pie), so I was still pretty swamped, but things should be getting easier soon.

Life happens, no worries. New baby about to drop here, so I've been quite busy myself.

Suffered kind of a family/money emergency today, I may not be in a state to post. Everything's basically short-term fine, I just realized a couple roommates have been forgetting to pay their shares of groceries for the last few months right as my girlfriend got told the card was overdrawn at the grocery cashier, and that happened on the same day my other girlfriend's very hopeful job interview apparently went very badly, so it's been a stressful time.

Hey, all. So, I have some sort of bad news. I think we're going to have to either greatly abridge the rest of the campaign or finally call it quits.
I've been putting this off for a long time. I truly hate the idea of letting everyone down after how long everyone else has stuck with it. I hate leaving something half-finished. I especially hate getting this close and letting it fall apart.
At the same time, I've gotta face the facts. I'm a lot busier than I was when I was 18. I have a job, I have a much stronger social life, and my mental health is a lot bouncier than it used to be, for better and worse. I don't play PF1 anywhere nowadays except in a couple of grandfathered campaigns like this one. The PCs are so advanced in a system I now know so little that I barely understand how they even work. The campaign's pacing is a total mess (by my own action and inaction), and I no longer really feel confident in my ability to deliver the kind of character-driven storylines that I personally enjoy running. And we still have over three books to go, which will likely take years at this rate.
At this point, I feel like I'm only maintaining the game for the sake of finishing it and for the sake of not disappointing people. I do still really enjoy running the campaign when I'm actually running it, but when I'm letting another hiatus take hold, it's miserable. Every hiatus is very embarrassing and stressful for me, and the hiatuses have become very, very common.
So, here's what I'm suggesting we do, if people are up for it. I'm going to try to drastically fast-track the campaign. The bulk of combat and roleplay encounters will be handled in summary, and a handful of scenes—and I do mean a handful, like, no more than 9-10, and not enough to require more than a few levelups to run through—will be played out in full.
I'll narrate/skip past the bulk of Book Ten, aside from a couple key fights. There's one scene I've had in mind for half the campaign, for example, and the boss fight is important. We'll also skip the bulk of Book Eleven, aside from a few key encounters. I'm not sure about Book Twelve yet. Most likely we'd just focus on the two final confrontations and then an epilogue. I believe I can do this.
If anyone else wants to take over fully as GM, I'll support them and offer whatever I can to help. That said, I don't think that's a reasonable ask when you all have characters you're attached to. Alternatively, if people would rather just call it here, I'd be happy to write up a simple set of summaries for how the campaign would have resolved.
Any of these three options are fine with me. I just can't commit to being responsible for this game with no ending in sight.

Hey, I completely understand. I also have ADHD. I have two more kids than when we started this b~%@#. I was in an apartment back then, now I'm managing a farm property and trying to start businesses at the same time. This is one of only two games I still play on the forums, and they are the only PF1 games I'm in. I have to look up rules basically every time I post because I DM and play 5e, and so I forget or get them mixed up.
The fact that this lasted 10 years is a miracle, and we should be proud.
I am easy. I have no expectations, and am happy we did all that we have. Whatever is easiest for you to finish out, KC, I'm good with. Thanks for running so far :)

I'm down for fast-tracking this.

Augh, I keep getting caught up with other obligations, but I got my first commission sent in and it's bought me some breathing room. I'll likely be posting pretty irregularly for the time being, but I'm still here! Just looking forward to the move being finalized. Just a few more weeks of limbo. :)

Alright, that's definitely the last post I can wrangle before the move starts. We do the main trip this Sunday. See you all on the other side! Good luck on the roll, DCat!
If Carina fails her check, it's still extremely unlikely the night twist with 50 hp will survive to its turn. Whether or not the surgery works, unsurprisingly, a power word stun has essentially ended the "fight" part of the fight.

Oh gosh, sorry, this slipped my mind pretty hard.
So, we're still moving in. It's been an intense process, and we still aren't that close to unpacked. Simply moving out fully took all week. Then the election happened. And then we all got sick!
This game's still a priority, just wanted to be clear! I just haven't been able to focus much on anything. We're recovering now and hoping to finish the move next week. Or I guess this week, now.
