I think Randu is of two minds chiefly...

Either he buys a small gathering of houses that he rents out cheaply to undercut any attempts at greedy landlords to gouge folk, while still making steady coin for himself. In the center of that, he has a rather nice spot (maybe even a tower) for himself.

Or he buys up a place where he can serve good food and entertainment. He might want to convert the Rouge Lady just to keep it from getting corrupt and abusive again... a cleaner establishment, yes gambling and dancing girls might stay but they'd be treated a lot better. etc. With decent bouncers to protect the staff. Or he might just make it or a new place a fine feasthall so it doesn't intrude on the more drink focused Sitting Duck.

Those are just to initial thoughts. I think he is aware that eventually lumbering will die out, so it is probably wise to have fall backs for economic change in a few years.

He would be happy to take any advice from friends or locals he trusts.

Since the Lumber Consortium acted as landlords for the entire town, practically every building in town will be up for auction in an process that will take a couple days.

Sympathetic officials in the Andoren government have arranged direct sales at reasonable prices to business owners who have occupied their buildings for a certain number of years, so these will not be auctioned. This means Roots and Remedies, the Goose 'n' Gander, and Jak-a'-napes will not be up for auction.

Unique named landmarks on the town map that WILL be up for auction include Vade's Tower, whose owner has vanished, leaving his son behind; The Sitting Duck tavern, whose string of short-lasting owners were all cronies of the late Kreed; the Rouge Lady; and the Woodwil, since operator of the workshop and artists' gallery, Deveera Gadsel, has only been using it for a couple years, but you've heard from locals that most folks have agreed to abstain from placing competing bids on it.

The Mayor's House and the Tribunal Building are going to remain public civic buildings, so they are not up for auction. After much debate, it was decided that Kreed Manor will not be auctioned for now.

Finally, a number of houses, boarding houses, shopfronts, and other small buildings in town will be auctioned. Existing parcels of farmland both in the deforested hills between the town and the forest will be auctioned off, as well as newly chartered parcels of farmland to the south of the river, since Andoran wants to see the depopulated Falcon's Hollow become revitalized.

She takes her money and buys one of the small chartered parcels of land high in the Hills, and has a summer house built on it. She calls it 'FOXHOME' and talks to a local farmer to look after the place while she is away.

Rrruh would want to purchase parcels of land that have both farming opportunities and some forrestry opportunitys... cause has big plans.. and by big plans i mean setting up a small little area for cat young catfolk to settle.. making a new tribe of sorts in that land he would make an open air theatre where he could have his (and others) plays performed.

When Sharvaros Vade fled town and abandoned his frail son, Savram, the boy was taken in by the families of some of his few friends, although due to financial issues, none of them could put him up for long, and he was rotated among these families.

Lady Cirthana has also offered the boy sanctuary in the temple, but Savram hasn't accepted. However, the warrior-priestess has been taking up collections to sponsor the boy's care, and many of the Diamond Regiment soldiers stationed in town have been contributing to this fund.

Meanwhile, the boy has shown no interest in returning to his father's tower, even if it were given over to him.

Very sorry about my long delay when you were trying to hurry things up. I've made my post. Randu will try for the the Rouge Lady. My overly long post in the spoilers should explain Randu's plans, and he'd welcome his adventuring companions at chipping in.

EDIT: And while he's not thinking of adopting Savram himself, if anyone else had a plan for helping the kid, Randu would be happy to step aside.

Having a bit of a hard time coming up with something for Layla to take over in a similar vein. The tower makes sense maybe as an arcane caster although she isn't really a wizard, and I doubt the townsfolk would care.

This seems like a good suggestion to me. Maybe she could train some locals in the gunplay, and even produce Blackpowder? That would be a resource rare enough to get business to the town eventually

That could definitely work! Put a few more ranks into craft Alchemy next level, start an arcane gun school in my downtime. I'll bid on the tower, looking to take it over, and renovate/sanitize if needed.

Had an idea, Miya would use the woodland plot to become an apiculturist, that is a Beekeeper. A mining to make woodland magic honey
With she hopes a breed of magic bees.

Magic Honey that could be can be used for spells and medicines as well as mead.

Happy holidays and happy new year, everyone.

Unfortunately, I have to start the new year with some bad news.

After giving it some thought, I've decided to retire this game. Even apart from the holiday lull, I haven't been able to give proper time and attention to this game due to increased family and work responsibilities.

We can still wrap up the game by having epilogues for everyone's characters, describing how they settle in around Falcon's Hollow or as agents of Andoran.
