”Krogge is here”

Male Catfolk Ninja 1 (HP: 7/7)

I'm here, but I shouldn't be letting you know that.

I am also here, collecting stories, hearing tales.... teaching peasents the finer points of philosophy and by Philosophy i mean possibly teaching them how to defend themselves without needed arms and armor and the like.

Looking over our party we are very much team stealth. Our lowest stealth check is a +5 on Krogge I believe. I almost feel sorry for the bad guys... well okay i dont.

Male Catfolk Ninja 1 (HP: 7/7)

I feel like we'll get along well.

Welcome, everyone.

I'm working on drafting an initial gameplay post, including individualized entries for each of you to establish your place or arrival in town, as well to introduce a little of the knowledge your characters already have about the town.

As we get started, if you have any questions about what your character knows or their connections with the town, please feel free to ask.

Male Human Vigilante 1

Greetings peeps! Glad to be a part of the game! I will be your Bruce Wayne/Batman of the game! Don't mind if me and this Blue Corvus fellow are never in the same room, I assure you, we are absolutely not related in any way!

...honest!

Statblock, background, and “The Cave” (Krogge’s home in the forest) are available for view in my profile. If anything isn’t allowed I’ll be happy to change it.

The Gameplay thread is open, and our story begins...

Male Catfolk Ninja 1 (HP: 7/7)

So if I'm a ninja, and you're a monk with nunchucks, and we're both catfolk, should we just say that Common is English and Catfolk is Japanese?

Male Human Vigilante 1

I always played Draconic as Spanish... dunno why...

I always equated Draconic with Latin.

Anyhow, once the haggling at the docks finishes, both groups will discover a mob gathered in front of the herbalist's shop.
That's where the whole party will meet and the first full encounter will unfold.

In the meantime, if Sweet Pea, Randu, and Flint have anything more to discuss or ask as they enter town, please go ahead.

I am sick with a cold, so if I post late or post nonsense, you know why ;)

I just unlocked Legacy of the First World in Herolab, and discovered something. There is a favored class option for Gathlain kineticists:

LotFW wrote:
Increase the amount of burn cost reduction when using the kineticist’s gather power ability by 1/6 point (the minimum burn cost of 0 still applies).

Can I swap out for this? I'll lose a skill, and we haven't had a combat yet.

Sure, go for it.

Male Catfolk Ninja 1 (HP: 7/7)

I'm gonna roll know local here, if that's alright so I can post once in response in game.
1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18
Or if it's Nobility, that's the same bonus.

Flint:
You easily recognize him as Ergin Tock, owner of the Sitting Duck tavern. The place is too close to the palisade's north gate for most residents' comfort, so most of the patrons are travelers, adventurers, explorers, or local rakes who cannot risk visiting the Rouge Lady for raucous entertainment.

The tavern was originally built by a retired adventurer, Larden "Ferret" Kried, but ownership eventually passed to Tock when Ferret supposedly returned to the adventuring life. There was some scandal with the deed that Tock produced, with many locals assuming it was a forgery.

These suspicions were bolstered by the fact that Tock used to work for Gavel Thuldrin Kreed as hired muscle.

About my drawback, Hedonistic:

http://www.d20pfsrd.com/traits/drawbacks/hedonistic/ wrote:

You are a creature of pleasure and comfort.

Effect(s) Whenever you spend a day without gaining reward or treasure (at least 10 or more gold pieces) or spending an hour on entertainment or pleasure, attempt a DC 20 Fortitude save at the end of that day. If you fail, you begin the next day fatigued. This fatigue lasts 4 hours, or until you receive a reward or sufficient entertainment or pleasure.

I plan to play this as innocent as possible. I feel that meeting a bunch of new friends would count to her as pleasurable entertainment. Do I avoid the roll?

Yeah, I had made note of the drawback.

Between getting paid by Laurel, having your meal covered by Jak, and the overall experience of meeting new friends and visiting the town for the first time, no roll is needed for this first day.

Male Catfolk Ninja 1 (HP: 7/7)

I've never really found a third trait I wanted bad enough to take a drawback.

CG Male Half-Orc Ranger 2 | HP 23/23 | AC:17, T:13, FF:14 | CMD 17 | Fort +4, Ref +6, Will +1 | Perc +6 | Init +3 | Spd 30 ft.

It can be great if you don’t have lots of skill profs

Gathlain Phytokineticist 2 | HP 18/18 | AC16 T13 FF14 CMD11 | F+6 R+5 W+0 | Perception +4(low light) | Initiative +2 | Burn 0/6 l

I definitely took the drawback for a skill's sake. Kineticists don't normally get Survival

Male Human Vigilante 1

I like to tie the two together, if I can help it.

One I quite like is Heirloom Weapon. Gives you a free proficiency with a simple or martial weapon... that's a free feat!

Male Catfolk Ninja 1 (HP: 7/7)

I like that, but it is limited to specifically /that/ weapon. As in the actual heirloom. You can't use anything better, and you can't upgrade it unless you use Masterwork Transformation.

CG Male Half-Orc Ranger 2 | HP 23/23 | AC:17, T:13, FF:14 | CMD 17 | Fort +4, Ref +6, Will +1 | Perc +6 | Init +3 | Spd 30 ft.

Is it really already night? We left Jaks at around sunrise and I thought the camp was only a few miles away from town.

Whoops. Sorry, I got confused. I'll make a revised post.

Male Halfling (HP: 9/9; AC: 13,t13,ff11; F +1, R +3, W+ 6(+8 vs fear)

Folks. Our life here has been ssomewhat up ended One of our Housemate's elderly mother has been neglecting herself to the point where she has to move in. So we have been doing what we can to make the house elderly ready, make sure she's got a room set up, and prepare for the transition of having someone whose politics and beliefs are very different from our own now present.

LOADS of fun.

So let me apologize for my slow posting rate. I hope to pick it up again.

Are we in rounds?

1 person marked this as a favorite.

I'll roll up the Initiative order. This hasn't become a Combat yet, but it will be useful in determining when each person's actions take effect.

Edit: Scratch that. I forgot that Rrruh had thrown a dart. Technically this is combat now, but everyone outside the party remains largely unaware.

CG Male Half-Orc Ranger 2 | HP 23/23 | AC:17, T:13, FF:14 | CMD 17 | Fort +4, Ref +6, Will +1 | Perc +6 | Init +3 | Spd 30 ft.

Are we doing block initiatives?

I prefer individual initiative rather than block initiative since it allows for more strategic planning.

Ah ok, fair enough. Might I suggest block perceptions? That way it doesn’t take 3 days to get the whole parties perception roll =D.

Btw, I am totally enjoying things so far and love the immersion of falcons hollow.

Gathlain Phytokineticist 2 | HP 18/18 | AC16 T13 FF14 CMD11 | F+6 R+5 W+0 | Perception +4(low light) | Initiative +2 | Burn 0/6 l

Since most perception checks are a passive reaction thing, I'm fine with the GM rolling it for me, if it speeds things up.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Sure, we can use block perception to speed things along.

Also, I am very glad to hear that you are enjoying the game!

For expediency, I will post the actions for all the thugs and the wyrm in one block, and you guys can chime in when your characters decide to intervene.

Just a heads up folks,

My wife and I will be leaving this afternoon for a long-delayed honeymoon to Iceland. I will be bringing my laptop with me, so hopefully there won't be much disruption in my ability to post.

Hey Jack, does The Blue Corvus want a sidekick who means well but needs some moral guidance?

My plan for Krogge has been to get to level 2 and pick a combat style and then reevaluate. I'm starting to think a few levels in vigilante would be cool with the way the campaign seems to be heading. I could be the Red Rook haha

Jack would be a little surprised - it'd be new territory - but he'd also be open to the idea. He'll have to move on in due time, so if he can leave someone to carry on a legacy of justice, he'd be up to the task!
