"Rerro!"

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

Heh heh...Beldan's green around the gills.....poor feller...his stomach's churning the whole boat trip...

Male Human Rogue 14

"Oh my ... when did I eat carrots?"

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

It almost seems like they want to dance and caper, like little animate mandrake roots.

Male Human Rogue 14

Beldan tries to take his mind off the dancing particulates by loading his crossbow with unsteady hands.

Male Human Rogue 14

"What was in that moonshine? I know I can hold my liquor better than this..." he mutters.

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

There's a little green man, about 1.5 feet tall, dressed like a king of the Aztecs, with jade chased qetzal feathered crown and an ocelot pelt cape, sitting on the edge of the boat next to Beldan now.
"It's not what's in the liquor, friend....it's what's in you now," he says quixotically.

Male Human Rogue 14

Something about the little man just screams ‘Gold!’ to Beldan.

“Are you a leprechaun?” he asks queasily.

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

"What's a leprechaun?" he asks.

Male Human Rogue 14

Beldan’s face goes white. “But … if you were just a figment of my imagination you’d know that … ‘cos I know it - right?”

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

"You think, therefore I am not? Interesting....
What are you guys doing, anyway? Oh, and....duck now."

Male Human Wizard 17 (Conjuration specialist)

"Who are you talking to, Beldan? Are you... having visions, like Gittik?" Altai grimaces in frustration. "Why now? I can't take notes during this dust-up! Try to remember what you're seeing, and we'll talk about it after the fight, OK?"

Male Human Rogue 14

Suddenly, in the middle of Altai’s speech, Beldan ducks … the sudden movement causes him to vomit into the bottom of the dugout.

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

An errant tomahawk/metal smoking pipe from the fight on board the ship spins through the air where your head just was.
Altai sees that....

"was the throwing axe real?" he laughs. "or is your head?"

Male Human Rogue 14

“I think it’s … the Moonshine Fairy,” Beldan answers Altai groggily, putting the little guy’s (probably rhetorical) question in the too hard basket.

Male Human Wizard 17 (Conjuration specialist)

"Fascinating. Why can't I see him?" Altai shakes his head. "I had a fair amount of that stuff too."

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

I'm gonna crash....the canoe will berth up next to row "H" of the Leg Man in the morrow I guess; you guys can go ahead and make climb rolls and say where you want to end up if you want to, or whatever.

Again, the fog cloud seems to be moving along with the ship, and it's nigh impossible to see anything specific on the deck, though the unmistakable sounds of fighting and dieing reach you from within the fog...

Male Human Rogue 14

“Poor old you – you’re not vomiting either,” says Beldan crossly, feeling sorry for himself. He’s got vomit on his boots, and his breeches.

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

You made your save.....

the green man looks at Altai; asks Beldan, "what happened to your friend there? He looks rather odd somehow."

Male Human Rogue 14

"Oh ... he got ducked."

Barbarian (berserker) 3; Init +1; AC18; Hp 36/41; Saves Str +5, Con +7; Passive Perception 9

Oso grabs his kit quickly and launches himself upstairs carrying Pip. It's the only way to travel.

"Juju comes! You want fly again ma man? Kelanen wants his best singer safe."

He aims to comes upstairs at the paddle end so that he can assess the situation.

Bard 8/ Troubadour of Stars 9 Epic Shredder

Yikes! Talk about in media res!

Pip had been thinking about Oso's dream ...

Knowledge (local)1d20+5=23, Knowledge (History)1d20+6=26

When the sounds of fighting break out. Oso grabs Pip and tucks him under his arm. Pip is used to such indignities, and goes along.

"Man, just when I thought we were gonna have a smooth ride downriver." He laments

M Halfling Barbarian 10

Save = 13+

"Heh - deaf, blind, sick and crazy."

<on seeing the boat and the battle>

"Meh, more fighting. Me see fight before. Maybe lizard come to us for kill, save us journey."

He draws his weapons and begins to limber up.

Barbarian (berserker) 3; Init +1; AC18; Hp 36/41; Saves Str +5, Con +7; Passive Perception 9

Oso takes Pip's comments as a yes.

casts fly on the halfling bard at the first opportunity

"Dur be an' attack an' we be showin' dat the Prince of Swords is king!"

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

Oso casts fly on the halfling; you guys emerge at b7. You see nothing but fog, but hear fighting nearby. You can't see anybody more than 5 feet away in this pea soup fog. What do you do? You each have a full attack coming to you...

It's everybody's go. The dugout pulls up at IJ8-12; climb aboard at will...

I know, right?

Male Wild Elf Druid 16 (Shifter version, PHBII)

Elgan, hearing Beldan's conversation with his invisible friend, pretty much ignores it and puts it in the same category that he files the rest of this crazy groups 'civilized' antics under.

HE casts a spell on himself, and his skin turns a darker, rougher brown. Casts Barkskin As the dugout approaches the fog enshrouded boat, he says, "Ah'll take care o' deh fog whin yeh climb onta deh boat, an' be ready tah he'p when yeh need it."

With that he dives over the edge of the canoe as if going for a swim, but his familiar shimmer takes him into the form of a great bird of prey, and he soars above and ahead of the group, circling the misty boat until they arrive.

As the canoe pulls up to the side of the boat and the hungover warriors begin climbing the side, the Elgan-Hawk hovers in place, beating his wings forcefully while crying in a peculiar, warbling tones. The wind from his beating wings is intensified by his casting, and a there is a forceful rush of air as the heavy fog is shredded and blown away like a small sail in a hurricane. So that when his companions reach the deck, it is a clear view they have of the situation,...

Cast 'Gust of Wind', should take care of either Obscuring Mist or Fog Cloud, whichever it was. ;)

Barbarian (berserker) 3; Init +1; AC18; Hp 36/41; Saves Str +5, Con +7; Passive Perception 9

unmodified initiative roll (not sure if you want this) 13 for Pip and Oso.

Oso casts a spell on himself and moves forwards towards the fighting. "Size of a bull, strength of a bull! Captain Quork where are you?" he roars.

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

The fog parts--here's the setup...

lizardmen (plain) at a3,d3,h3,a5,d8,g9,b10,g12,c13,h13,d14,f14,b16,d16,and g16.

red skinned lizardmen at a9,d10,f11,b12, and d13; Rieses guys have seen them before...

There's a 14 foot tall lizard man at de 15-16 with a sharktoothed greatclub and an alligator skin cloak with thehead still on it on his head like captain caveman or something...he's munching the club and bleeding out of his mouth.

An ugly gnome (Capm Quorkus) is at d5, with his trusty dog at the helm, and there's sailing men fighting for their lives at c5,f5,f8,c9, and h7 on some stairs.

"Oh, no! Half me crew is dead!" says Quorkus.

To Riese and co: "arrr, who might ye be!!!"

his dog growls.

Everybody but Elgan is yet to go...
(edit) Oso did his spell, and he can move 30 feet whenever.

Male Human Wizard 17 (Conjuration specialist)

As Gittik grabs the raiing to climb up, Altai taps him light;y on the shoulder. "Just a little something to help you . Or not so little. He he..."

Casting Enlarge person on Gittik just before the fighting starts.

As Elgan's spell parts the fog, Altai stares in slack-jawed surprise. "Dang. That a lot of lizardmen. We'd better do something about it..." He casts another spell - a mote of fire streaks from his hand before exploding 15' over the pitched battle.

Casting Fireball on the CD 13-14 intersection. The explosion hits these guys: lizardmen (plain) at b10,g12,c13,d14,f14,b16,d16,and g16;red skinned lizardmen at d10,f11,b12, and d13; Big Liz at DE 15-16. They all take 23 points of fire damage, Reflex 18 for half. Note that the H column is outside the blast, so the lizardman in H13 is unaffected.

Altai is standing in the canoe in J11.

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

All the "normal" heh heh...looking ones in the blast are now dead. The others look kinda crispy; split skins, boiling oozing wounds, but they look like they're operational.
The giant lizardman looks ticked off...

Male Human Wizard 17 (Conjuration specialist)

Hey, that's 8 down. It's a start, at least.

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

it was mostly ornamentation....think of them as parsley.

Male Human Wizard 17 (Conjuration specialist)

Just indulging the primal joy of blowing things up.

Male Human Paragon 3 /Evoker 6 (abjuration&enchantment barred) ---37,300XP

1d20 4=24 fort save."Lightweights...."
"Good idea Altapi- Imbelia Pyrrok de'flar!!" 7d6=25 damage, DC 18 reflex for half. Riese fireballs the same spot Altai did or shifts it slightly to get more of them if he can. "Altwai, I could show you how to get more from your flame spells if you wish. I am quite an expert in that regard, as you can see....."

Male Human Wizard 17 (Conjuration specialist)

If you put the epicenter at the DE 13-14 intersection, you hit all the same red lizardmen, the regular lizardman in H13 and Big Liz. I didn't do it as I thought it was a good idea to keep the H column fire-free for boarders. But since we drop our bombs first... *Boom!*

Also, here are the effects of Enlarge person. If Gittik doesn't want it, I'll drop it on Stig instead (it'll make Stig Large, so it might actually make more sense to cast it on him).

Male Human Rogue 14

“You guys go ahead … I’ll catch up.”

Beldan spends this round getting his shit together.

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

Riese's fireball doesn't finish any of them, though they all look balefully burnt. The giant lizardman looks the best...

Any of Riese's people:

spot d.c. 10

Spoiler:
flying through the air, there's a flying hobbit. Though much less rough around the edges, and with a better idea about style of dress than the goblin-raised barbarian, this hobbit looks like the spitting image of Gittik.

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

Oso can still move;
it's still Bushytoe, Gittik, Stiggy, and Becton's go; Becton feels pretty lucid--combat snaps him back to reality.

Where are we?

Male Human Wizard 17 (Conjuration specialist)

In the canoe next to the boat - I/J 8-11.

BTW, do you want that Enlarge person spell? If you do, it's yours.

Sure. Map is almost done. That makes me large, right?

<Stig moves to EF 9-10.>

Male Human Wizard 17 (Conjuration specialist)

OK. Stig is now Large. The effects of the spell are here. More importantly, you now have 10' reach and your weapon size increases, so your waraxe now does 2d8 damage. Enjoy!

I don't think you can - there's a lizardman in G9 who's in the way. The red lizardman in F11 would get an AoO as well.

Which also reminds me - did the lizardman in H13 survive Riese's Fireball?

G/H-10/11, attack F11
