Riese
Does everybody come, or do you leave one guy back or anything?
Riese descends the rope carefully.
"If light is needed, I am sure that myself and Altai here could shed some. I also have a couple sunrods on my person if someone wishes to use one."Is there anyone being DMPC'ed? If so maybe we could leave them to watch from above and ensure our escape route.
Altai Iscarni
BTW - before we dropped into the hole, Altai would have picked up some decently sized branches and sharpened them to make some wooden stakes. After all, stakes are vampire bane weapons, right?
Does everybody come, or do you leave one guy back or anything?
Is it possible for someone like Beldan or Gittik to get up without a rope? If so, we should all go. Leaving one guy alone in vampire territory sounds dodgy to me.

You both make it down. Right in front of the face of the giant skull, the skull is 30 feet tall. The skull....is real bone, not a carving. Here and there on the floor lie a massive metacarpal, a gigantic rib bone 40 feet long. A humerus lies propped against the wall; the other end in the sandy turf of the room.
There are no exits, other than the way you came.

The right orbit has a hole 6 inches wide in it for the optic nerve. The left orbit has a hole, circular, 2.5 feet in diameter.
The nasal cavity is filled with cartilage; kinda looks like a squeeze.
There's no lower jaw, and the teeth of the upper jaw rest firmly on the ground.
Altai Iscarni
"They dissolved into fine mist, so they could probably just drift through that little hole. A sledgehammer would probably open it up."
What we really need is to pump the skull full of kerosene and the set fire to it. Did anyone bring a gas truck? Also, what kind of skull is it - giant, dragon, something completely different?
dungeonmaster heathy
You can shimmy through the hole on the left of the socket...f@@# it, it's 3.5 feet in diameter.
It's a giant human(like) skull, though the brow ridge is kinda neanderthally.
On top, on the forehead, there's a crack in the skull, like 3 inches wide and 6 feet long; in the center of the crack is a big sliver of metal. About 2 feet long hanging outside the skull, anyway.
Riese
"Do not be alarmed my fellows" Riese states, "I can take on another form when I need more protection, I wish to let you know that when we enter into a battle I may wear the form of a lizardfolk or something similar, but for now my standard protections should prove effective."
"Encaseur gildritar guar'in!" Casts mage armor.
He then pops the head of a sunrod down on the ground, activating the light source. "If someone would carry this I could keep my hands free for wand use and to rain fire upon our enemies. Who would like the light?"
Elgan Dreadwood
Elgan quickly an nimbly slides down the rope.
"Dat' wuz fun chere!" He smiles as he reaches the bottom. "Mo'e fun dan slidin' vines! When we finished heah, we haveta do dat agin', Holey Moley! Dat t'ing is huge!" He declares, finally spotting the skull. He prowls around the skull in wolf form, sniffing. Then finally changes back.
"Dat' looks lahk deh easiest way in, we gonna check it out?" He says pointing at the hole in the side of the skull.
He gratefully accepts a sharpened stick, then changes to his black-cat prowler form, and with a leap and a wriggle, follows the wild hobbit through the hole.
Once inside, and after making sure that nothing is waiting to leap upon them, Elgan shimmers back into Elf form to talk to Gittik. "Le's see if'n we kin fin' a way up to da top. Ah wants a look at dat shiny bit o' metal in dis guys haid." With another cautious look around, he shimmers back into the sleek black hunting cat.

The inside of the skull is hollowed out.
Within there are 4 coffins.
Roughly rectangular; a-j across the top, 1-7 down the side. the right eye is at a2-3. the left eye is at a5-6. The right side of the skull goes from a1-j1; the back down to j7, and back around to form a rounded-edged rectangle. There are 4 wooden coffins, at h2, g4, i4, and h6.
Roll a move silently check when you enter the left eye...It opens onto the ethmoid sinuses, (like the top side of the hard palate,) slopes down 5 feet at column "b" into the bowl-shaped room that is the braincase.
About 10 feet in the air, you can see the other side of the metal shard in the cracked skull; it's about 3 foot long on the inside; 2 foot wide.
Beldan Vale
Beldan’s been getting increasingly nervous. He’s quiet on the way down, showing the others good places to put their feet and how to grip the rope on the climb, but otherwise not saying much.
Climb: 9+5 = 14
Down the bottom he stares up at the skull in awe … and fear. He takes Riese’s torch … gulps. “Uh … you want me to check it out?”
He climbs up and peers into the left eye. Move Silently: 7+11 = 18.
Sorry about the slow response, got too tired to formulate a proper post last night.

Altai kicks a mummified pituitary gland.
It skitters clackily across the floor....the lid to the coffin at h2 goes flying off.
She stands...Ivy from "Thirty Days of Night..."
She was probably pretty good looking before, when she was alive, and not covered from the cheeks to the neck in dried blood and wearing a shredded ravaged ballgown.
She screams. And screams. And screams.
initiative...everybody pick a position rank a-d; Altai's where he said he is, Beldan can be anywhere he wants.
ha ha! women hear everything, dude!
Elgan Dreadwood
Stiggy and Gittik aren't that cute,...
Hey! What am I? Chopped liver?!? :)
Elgan snarls, waiting to see how quickly the others react before leaping into the center of what may turn into a Vampire-powered Cuisinart!
The cat shimmers and shifts back into an elf, snarls mystical words in the language of the wilds, and a ball of flame appears in his hand.
"Oaw, shuu TUP!" Elgan bellows as he hurls the ball of fire at the shrieking banshee,...
Produce Flame To hit(touch att)/Dmg rolls: (1d20+6=25, 1d6+4=9)
I am just too tired to make complete sense of the layout description, sorry. So please put me wherever you deem logical, having made room for the the others entering, etc.
Altai Iscarni
Elgan's got the right idea. Let's burn the bastards!
Shut up! Shut the hell up! Shutupshutupshutup! Wincing, Altai's fingers weave a mystical pattern; suddenly, the pattern erupts into flames as searing fire washes over the shrieking monster.
Casting Scorching ray at the screamer. Attack roll 14+5=touch AC 19, and she then gets to eat up 19 points of fire damage.

Round 1:
Stiggy takes d3,
becton takes b4,
They won initiative, so......
the screaming banshee vampire moves to attack Altai. She moves to d1; running up the side of the wall like a climbing spider, to avoid an aoo...She rends at the mage, and misses.
The other 3 coffins' lids erupt off like my radiator cap last week.
at g4, your friend the taxman, a snivelling little runt of a blautsauger. At h6, a bald old man erupts out of the coffin, a blood crusted bald old man with a feral wolfen look on his face.
At i4, there is a powerfully muscled man; belongs in the Gladiator Pits of Yore; 6'4", garbed in a loinclout, and fangs springing from his mouth like a sandtiger shark. Long, slimy, crusted hair hangs like a limp mane around his face.
your attack; Elgan and Altai, feel free to modify your shots as you like; Stiggy and Becton, feel free to start elsewhere if you want.
