I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

Just a leather thong necklace, with a black opal. Maybe worth 100 g.p. or so.

Male Human Rogue 14

“Gah! Oh sweet Pelor … After that,” Beldan gestures to Stiggy and Riese, his other hand shielding his eyes, “this Isle of Dread place sounds like a breeze. Hmmm … I think I heard about that place … filled with wingless dragons and giant lizards, and pretty island girls in coconut shell swimsuits …”

"Huh. That's an odd thing for the hag to carry around."

I'll drop a Detect magic on it, just to check it out.

Thanks gods that wasn't a "leather thong" cuz Stiggy was gonna put it on.

It's faint to moderate divination magic; also some modicum of necromancy involved.

It isn't.....the standard magic item out of the dungeonmaster's guide exactly (nor is it my invention; I see no guidance from the books for this thing so this is my interpretation of what detect magic would show).

Male Human Wizard 17 (Conjuration specialist)

Um, yes. Thanks for that image, Stig.

"OK. Now that the area seems clear, let's check out the oher doors. After that, we'll destroy the vats."

"Welcome to Fantasy Island of Dread."

Mr Rorke wrestles the Devil....again.

Riese's got this neato item called an Artificer's lens which allows him to cast Identify once per item. What does he see?

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

It seems to be a "hag's eye." A coven of hags can create one and scry through it.

You've been on "television," of a sort.

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

Ha ha! I found the module!!!
What doors do you want?
Alzo, the fairy princess is able to heal everybody to max again.

"You don't get in any more trouble, though....I can't heal you up no more's," she chides, Stiggy especially.

That's what I thought. Darn hags.

"Break it - it's a spying focus. Unless..." Altai wanders back a bit until he gets to the dragon carcass and the ghoul chewing away at it. "Got you a nice shiny ornament in exchange for the stuff you found for us in the dragon's stomach. Now, just keep munching away."

He returns to the group. "Hags can only have one hag eye, if I remember correctly. If we had broken it, they would just have made a new one. Instead, they can scry away on some dank ghoul hole to their heart's desire." He flashes a smug grin. "Now, let's see where the doors behind the altar lead."

How about the door at R1, just to take one?

Also, just to remind ourselves, we found 5 fist-sized, unworked diamonds; worth about 500 gold each in the T-rex's stomach.

dungeonmaster heathy wrote:

"Ah reckon aam nigh invulnerable noo."

Is there a mirror where he can check himself out in this new plate?

<Slurping stops. Tenser licks himself for a while.>

"Rummy!"

Altai Iscarni wrote:

That's one each, right?

Male Human Wizard 17 (Conjuration specialist)

There's six of us, so no. :( Unless the ghoul found another diamond after we left.

Yeah; there's one on the wall.

He looks pretty studly.

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

That door, at r1, opens into a hallway that goes thirty feet, bends left; there's 50 feet of hall then it goes left and to the door at f1.

There's three doors on the left(i.e. south) side of the back hallway.

Male Human Wizard 17 (Conjuration specialist)

Those doors seem like prime investigative targets.

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

None of them even look so much as locked...

don't worry, I won't go traphappy on you guys.

"Um ... at least, since you're shorter than the guy who was wearing it, some of the plates sort of overlap, so you can't see too much flesh. Course, you're wider too and - Pelor, don't flex like that!"

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

chain mail chaps....YEEEEESH!

And inside are...? After we're done here, we'll break apart the vats and kill off any surviving clones of doom.

Male Human Rogue 14

BTW, loot-wise Bel just took the Ring of Protection and his share of the cash. Stig, Elgan and Gittik each get a potion of CMW.

“Guess I’ll check out these doors … just in case …”

Search: 4+10 = 14.

They seem to be just what they appear to be; nothing out of the ordinary.

There's three doors one at 10 feet, 30 feet, and 45 feet away from the bend in the hallway...

Male Human Wizard 17 (Conjuration specialist)

Open up the one at 10' first.

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

This room....appears bigger than on the map. It's 15 feet wide from east to west, and 60 feet long.
There's large stain-glassed windows on the west wall; the misty outside shows through, as does a little sun. (not a mistake).
Theres a 40 foot long, 5 foot wide table down the middle of the room.
There's a door on the east wall halfway down, and a door on the south wall.
At the far end of the table, on a throne, sits a creature, manlike in form, though he seems to be a patchwork quilt of the macabre.
On either side of him, on the wall, is a suit of statuary plate armor
holding a halberd.

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

He doesn't seem to be doing anything but sitting there on the throne.

Male Human Wizard 17 (Conjuration specialist)

"This is... beyond weird. Let's regroup." Altai backs out of the door and closes it quietly. "The thing in there could be anything. However, the real reson we came here was to kill Jag Doom and destroy his army. Let's tear apart the cloning machines first; after that, we can go back and deal with the Corpse King in there. Or just go home."

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

Knowledge: Arcana 19:

Spoiler:
the stitched thing looks like a flesh golem, more an actual construct than undead, morbid as it's formation seems to be.

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

I gotta go pick up some milk for the wee ones; I'll be back around in an hour...

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

He's back.

<Stig scratches a left buttock that has probably never seen the light of the sun... ever... exposed by one of the all too revealing panels in the armor.>

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

It's just.....Stiggy's avatar face....when you say that stuff.... the whole nonchalant look....LOL!

"Cloning machines?" Beldan scratches his head. "Was that all those glass tubes and stuff in the other room that you blew up with the fireball? Or are we talking about something else?

"Either way, yep, this place is sure weird. Some patchwork looking guy just sitting there on a throne..." the young man shivers. "That's creepy. We're not doing too badly out of this place loot-wise though. I don't mind sticking it out for a bit longer..."

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

The vats are just tall brass cauldrons, with a lot of jibberish etced on them, and with something green and gooey inside (think ectoplasmic slime a la Ghostbusters), though, in most cases, the slime is burnt to a crispy smudge within the brass bowls.

Male Human Wizard 17 (Conjuration specialist)

We cut up and smash everything. As we have a couple of adamantine weapons and Riese can blast stuff all day, that shouldn't be too hard.

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

You make a big mess. They're pretty much demolished.
There's sticky green ghostsnot all over everybody involved, but it's not caustic or anything. It itches a little bit.

Male Human Rogue 14

“Yeech,” comments Beldan, looking at the green gunk.

“So what now? Do we head back to the swamp,” he gives a slight, involuntary shudder, “and let them know that the big bad hob is dead? Or do we go and see what’s what with that tattered king?” The guy on the throne wasn’t wearing yellow or anything was he?

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

Just his teeth.

(It's not Hastur).

Male Human Wizard 17 (Conjuration specialist)

Knowledge (arcana) 9+14=23.

"We can go back. The corpse thing is a flesh golem; my best guess is that the suits of armour are animate as well. Constructs are resilient, but largely mindless. I think we can take the thing on the throne."

Male Human Rogue 14

"Hmmm ... well on the other hand, they're not bothering anyone there are they?" Beldan muses. "And I reckon that golems and such aren't known for their amazing wealth..."

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

the flesh golem said mean things about your mother....J/K!

Male Wild Elf Druid 16 (Shifter version, PHBII)

Wow! Thx for the DMNPC ride guys! I think you guys roll better than I ever did! What exactly did we each end up with? I saw the suit of shapeshift armor for Elgan, but did I miss anything else?

Elgan, having recovered from his near-hag experience, peeks through the door way at the tattered man on the throne.

"If'n ah remembeh's raht, deh constructs is mostly immune tah magics. W'ed havta take 'em all down deh hard way. Which is prolly ok since deh wizzies is mostly outta heavy stuff by now. Prolly. But deh lil' princess iz outta favors fer deh day, an ah'm light on heavy healin' mah-se'f. If'n we iz gonna do dis, we needs tah do it fast an' hard. An' if'n sumone gets hurts he needs tah git outta deh way cuz we maht not be able tah puts him back tagedder agin!"

Ah man, I've missed that! ;)

I just wanna know what my cut is of the loot. I know we got a spellbook we can copy some stuff from before we sell it but what about the rest, is someone keeping track?

Male Human Wizard 17 (Conjuration specialist)

Stuff:

+2 bastard sword - sell for 8335 gp
+1 mithril shirt - sell for 2100 gp
+1 ring of protection (two of them) - Beldan gets one. Everybody else has one, so we sell the other for 2000 gp
+1 full plate (looks like demon worshipper bondage gear stuff) - to Stig
+1 greatsword, anarchic (+1d6 vs. lawful's) - sell for 18350 gp
+1 hide armor BEASTSHAPE - to Elgan
2 scrolls of summon undead iii - sell both for 750 gp total
3 potions of cure moderate wounds - to Stig, Gittik and Elgan

8,000 g.p. in coin/gems/jewelry/masterwork gear of one kind or another.

This gives us:

31535 gp in gear/2= 15267 gp and 5 silver
+8000 gp in stuff
=23267 gp and 5 silver/6
=3877 gp and 9 silver each

In addition, we have 5 unworked diamonds worth 500 gp each - they are not counted into the numbers above.

Male Human Wizard 17 (Conjuration specialist)

Also, in addition, Stig'll sell off some of his weapons and armour and put the gold in the party coffers. We don't know what yet, though.

Don't forget the spellbook and what spells are in it, they sell well!

Male Human Wizard 17 (Conjuration specialist)

Spellbook contents:

1)blade of blood, chill touch, orb of cold: lesser, summon undead i, and spells you allready have....

2)seeking ray, boil blood, false life, kelgore's grave mist, spectral hand, summon undead ii.

3)gaseous form, summon undead iii, greater mage armor, lightning bolt...

4)Polymorph, Wall of fire

I don't have the Spell compendium here in the States, so I don't know a bunch of these.

PHB2 has Blade of blood, seeking ray, kelgore's grave mist and I think Spectral hand. Kelgore's (Riese's) grave mist is a fairly good spell. I am gonna scribe Grave Mist, Wall of Fire, and Seeking Ray(4d6 ray of flame, that if it hits gives me a +4 to hit that target with any other ray spells, basically a tracer-spell with damage.). Kelgore's Grave Mist is a decent area of effect spell that saps life from creatures over time. I'll post the details if you need me to.

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

Does anybody know where pricing of a spellbook is detailed?
