Stig steps toward them (wherever) and digs in with the adamantine waraxe: 1d20+6=19, 1d10+19=29
If it's a kill then cleave: 1d20+6=15, 1d10+19=20
(a little bit of dramatic licence...)
Stiggy starts wailing over and over with the axe, and (49 hit points worth of ) lizardman after lizardman falls as he cuts a bloody swath into their host.Spanky the Leprechaun |

What a weirdo!
Pendobar 'Pip' Bushytoe |
Pip is cruelly throttled by the two femur-wielding harpys at e4 and f5.
He takes 8 h.p. in damage.
ROTFLMAO, I had to make >this< when I read that passage!
Pip, wishing he'd one last Glitterdust left, attacks the harpy again at F5
His flailing blow fails to land

I'm gonna be forty next month. When am I going to grow up.
Heh. I turn 43 next week. What is this 'grow up' of which you speak? ;)
About 13 years ago i had a discussion with my X mom-in law. The 'conversation' ended with "When are you going to grow up and get out of your second childhood?"
My response was, "Ma'am, I'm not done with my first one yet."
So my question is, is there a term limit or statute of limitations on a second childhood? Do we have to use it by 45 or 50 or lose our rights to it forever?!? ;P
Elgan Hawk flaps overhead, shaking his avian head in sadness at some of his compatriots attempts at dispatching the undead Harpies,... and then there's the Stiggyblimp of quizinartness, and his pet, Gittik the devourer. Elgan flaps, looking for a breeze to hold his position and concentrates on his lil' ball o' warm-luvin'.
Altai Iscarni |
I think this is {mostly} correct. There are a couple discrepancies with the harpys (different locations called for them etc.) so could everyone take a look and see if I got it right? Also, have we only killed ONE harpy?
Gittik is in D3. The harpis in D1, D2 and E4 are all down.
dungeonmaster heathy |
Riese's flame power goes off, burning some more of the enemy.
The two harpys miss.
The lizardmen surge forward, now encompassing squares e1, f1, e2, f2, a3-d3, a4-f4;
Beldan takes 24 in damage.
Gittik takes 18 in damage.
Altai takes 14 in damage.
Stiggy takes 17 in damage.
Pip takes 16 in damage.
The lizardmen are everywhere, stabbing, smashing,...fighting tooth and nail. A mob of many arms and spears and clubs...
Round 6.

Shee-eeeet. I should have kept my mouth shut.
Riese steps away from the lizardman horde before blasting them agai.
Move to A1 before using Fiery blast again - it's too crowded to use an actual Fireball. The target is the A/B 3/4 intersection - that hits four lizards and none of us. Damage 12, Reflex 17 for half.
Altai runs out of the scrum of lizardmen, covering his head.
Full retreat to F7. I have no area effect spells left, and any 5' steps only gets me either into the mob or next to the harpies, creating AoO's if I use an item or scroll. Blah!

Waraxe, 2H PA #1: 1d20+6=15, 1d10+17=26
Waraxe, 2H PA #2: 1d20+1=3, 1d10+17=18
<Stiggy begins to struggle under the combined mass of his beergut and the lizard mob.>
If the first attack kills then cleave: 1d20+6=11, 1d10+17=19
dungeonmaster heathy |
Stiggy lays into them hard, and after his hewing, there's not a lizardman standing in the place that wants to face you.
70 % of the mob is dead, 30% is either too wounded or knows better.
His cleave takes out the harpy in c5, separating her head from the rest of her.
The only thing standing that wants to fight is the harpy at f5, menacing poor wounded pip.

And don't forget the Brightly burning bouncing ball o' fire courtesy of your friendly neighborhood Druid-man! Er,... Elf,... whatever! ;P
Elgan screeches in warning as the horde moves forward toward his embattled allies,... too late. They are almost engulfed by the tide of scaly-skinned reptilians that slithers forward like some kind of prehistoric serpent.
Beating his wings to stay in place, the druid-hawk concentrates to bring the ball of fire rolling back towards teh front of the small horde, trying to get it in between the lizards and his friends.
EDIT- Elgan sends the ball after the HArpy that dares to pick on a poor, defenseless, injured, and very musically creative rhyming-wise Hobniz!

End of combat
1,012 exp each.....EVERYBODY CAN GO AHEAD AND LEVEL!
Oso and Pip; I'm assuming you might have started a few exp behind the rest of the guys, but I'll just go ahead and say you crested the next level here.
There's about 5 or 6 unscathed lizardmen standing about; they surrender weapons.
Altai Iscarni |
You should have about 21450 xp, give or take a few. I leveled as a wizard, obviously. I rolled 3 new hit points, and my two new spells are Charm monster and Summon monster IV. I have a couple of new spell slots, but no actual spells until I get to memorise something. Good thing: Scorching ray now produces two rays!
dungeonmaster heathy |
The lizard man points at the door they came through to the south.
"Through there. More of our folk, but they will not fight you. They won't fight anymore.
I should have listened to them....
Then through another door, and down some stairs. He's down there somewhere.
This is the Tree of the Three Hool Hags. They, and his wife will guard him.
His wife....looks like you folk, but....she has horns on her head. And wings."
Altai Iscarni |
"Multiple hags. Fantastic." Altai makes a sour face. "Remember the hag we faced in the portal house? Now there's three more. And some sort of demon."
He shakes his head. "We can't trust anyone in here, as they can all assume human form. We'll need to kill anything that moves and ask questions later, if at all."
Oso Legumbe |
"Dat hag. Wot it be doing to hurt ma main man, Pip, and me? Sounds like ma granny."
Oso quickly assesses the wounds on people.
"Prince, give dem some healin' love."
Oso burns three turns giving everyone fast heal 3 for 2 rounds each time, thats 18 pts each.
"I say, time to rest. No way I can take that undead and his family. Gonna be fresh out of healing soon too. I can call for the Prince again and this place is bad juju and dem vampires gots the sign over me," he sighs.
If we stop I can throw some more CLW healing to anyone that needs it and if we act all brave and take the fight to the bad guys then I'll save the spells for the big finish.
Beldan Vale |
Beldan gets pretty beaten around by the horde of lizardmen, unable to fend them off in such great numbers. He’s honestly beginning to fear for his life before Stiggy and the others manage to beat them back.
The battle over, he slumps to the floor, head bowed, the heel of his hands over his eyes, and just sits for a moment, looking up and nodding gratefully at Oso as the healing energy flows through him.
“I don’t know,” he says, when the talk turns to how to proceed. “I’m all for being cautious and re-grouping – but if we get the chance to, so do they. At the moment we’ve kind of got the advantage, given that they didn’t expect us, and the vampire lizard is still – presumably – in a weakened state. If we go away and come back tomorrow, they’ll have had a chance to rig traps, raise more zombies, stuff like that, and we’ll probably have to face the boss all over again. I’ll go with the group on this one, but I’m just saying there’s an advantage to pushing on now as well.”
Leveled. Rolled a 5 for hit points and have distributed skill points.
