Sera sits and enjoys the amazing meal. She does her best to follow along with the conversation, but truth be told most of not all of it was foreign to her much like the Keleshites were. She’s was not well versed in the topics of trade customs and lineage. If it were about art she may be better equipped to provide her input

She continues to eat, but actually sits back from the table. She takes the time pull her her drawing supplies and tries to sketch a image of their honorable guests. Not so much as to impress her, but she has always used art and sketching to calm her nerves.

Blask tilts his head slightly to the left when Kindu mentions “no introductions”. He than says a single word.

Blask

He lets it sink in then follows it up.

Call me ANYTHING other than my given name, and YOU’LL see my fist in your face. Got it?!

Blask was always serious and to the point. In his line of work, being a jokester can be the difference between a shallow grave and a round of shots at the bar afterwards.

After the issue was resolved, he headed with the drone to the hideout of Padre.

One way in, one way out. Wish I knew how many chumps this joker had “protecting” him.

Blask grabs his pulsecaster rifle, readying himself to take a shot at any hostile that presents themselves.

True to his word, Captain Trone gets you the local inn as promised. Chef, you have a place to cook all of your own. Your food is exquisite, and Pluck is a happy (albeit fat) chicken sidekick. Your former boss comes in to congratulate Your hard work and bravery in aiding the town back when it was at its lowest point.

Rubin, you sing on stage whenever the mood strikes you. Your stories of stoic bravery, are shared by all you soak in your tales of fighting of the bad guys and thugs. A few local ladies swoon over you, and should you ever choose to “settle” down, you virtually have your choice of bride.

Kraull, you indeed rough up the locals when they have one too many ales from Chef’s collection. Plus, all the locals challenge you to arm wrestling contests every night. The standing wager is a night of drink from their buddies if they ever beat you. You are undefeated at 100 wins. It’s amazing how ale dumbs nes senses and reaction times...like you need any more help on top of your massive size.

The three of you, adventure whenever the “bug” bites you. Nothing too crazy happens, and you all seem to enjoy a moment of respite from being hunted and stabbed.

Captain Trone tries desperately to get Ricardo to atone for his crimes and demeanor, but alas is lost to the criminal aspect. He rots in jail, his pleas falling on the uncles deaf ears.

that wraps up the game. I have another idea in mind, so if interested keep an eye out for it in the coming weeks. Feedback is welcome if you wish to leave any and I will place the game on inactive in the next day or two. Thank you all for sticking with me/it and I hope you three had a good time

Time to start a “chase” to wrap up the game in dramatic fashion. There will be a total of 5 obstacles and Ricardo is essentially 1 “Square” ahead of you. You can attack if you have a ranged weapon. I will give two option with a DC, you chose one. If you succeed you stay within 30’. If you fail you stay put. You can attempt both to be able to catch up to his square: Pass both=his square, Pass 1/Fail 1= stay put, Fail both= lose action next round

Just as Rubin tries to figure out where Ricardo was fleeing to, Ricardo pops back into sight.

Damnit, I forgot my spell was limited in duration.

Description
You create an invisible magical sensor that sends you visual information. You can create the arcane eye at any point you can see, but it can then travel outside your line of sight without hindrance. An arcane eye travels at 30 feet per round (300 feet per minute) if viewing an area ahead as a human would (primarily looking at the floor) or 10 feet per round (100 feet per minute) if examining the ceiling and walls as well as the floor ahead. It sees exactly as you would see if you were there.

The eye can travel in any direction as long as the spell lasts. Solid barriers block its passage, but it can pass through a hole or space as small as 1 inch in diameter. The eye can't enter another plane of existence, even through a gate or similar magical portal.

You must concentrate to use an arcane eye. If you do not concentrate, the eye is inert until you again concentrate.

Once at the bottom, Zen'yr will grab a wand and a scroll. She taps everyone with the wand, increasing their foot speed. She than asks the others if they don't mind waiting for ten minutes be exploring too much. She then begins to cast a from a scroll which takes a while. At the end an invisible sensor is at the door, trying to squeeze through any holes.

Longstrider for all (+10' land speed for 1 hour). Choosing to have it examine the walls/floor option for 100' per minute = 900' total. Wanting to explore as much of the "map" as possible :)

For his first day off, Vincent will relax in the room. He will write a letter back home, detailing his first week. It's successes with the dish and how he fumbled the words and that he demands better of himself. He mentions that he misses everyone at home, and perhaps next weekend his wife and granddaughter could visit for a day. He wonders what the next week will hold, and concludes the letter with a thought of love.

The second day, he rests his old creaky body. He ices down his knee, to prepare for the next weeks challenge.

---------

Vincent listens to the next challenges before him. I know home cooked, it is what I have done for the past years. I think Chef Bahram and Mimi will be very well with their exotic trainings. I wonder what I could bring to the table?, he thinks to himself.

I have some ideas for hearty stews that may lend well to the upcoming week. Maybe braised quail or kobe beef stew. Tessara could make some tender dumplings to incorporate into the stew. Mimi knows vegetables better than I, she can help to pair the meat and vegetables. Bahram knows cheese, perhaps we could pair a cheese to thicken the stew and give it some richness to balance the earthy vegetables and meat? Thoughts from you talented folks?

Vincent will look towards the pair of chefs, with the vegetable and cheese pairing. What thoughts do you have for your dish. I would like our dishes to compliment one another. Are you going on the heavier side or lighter side? If I go with a savory soup, and Tessara makes a sweeter bun; will you be able to have enough creative room to make a dish that builds on ours?

interview response:

My name is Vincent Del Sol, sir. I want to become a chef at your restaurant, to become something. Ever since the war had ended, and my age has increased, my physical skills have diminished. Luckily, I had picked up cooking as a pastime, which I have gotten better at as I had focused on it.

I prefer to focus on stews and soups. Even though I have been out of the military for two decades, I still cook for a large gathering; which will be perfect for your new eatery.

For your tasting today, I offer three stews. The first is a hearty vegetable stew, filled with fresh root vegetables from my humble garden. Leeks, carrots, potatoes, and some local pepper seasonings.

The second soup, is a personal favorite, chicken and corn chowder. Nothing fancy, I admit. However, fancy does not equate better.

The final disk is a cold gazpacho. Fresh pressed tomatoes, some salt, pepper, and a few fresh basil leaves to add a bit of zing. I hope you both enjoy them.

Why should you chose me, over another? I work hard, and strive to better myself. I ensure if there are workers under me, they perform their tasks as per my instruction.

Stubborn, demanding, vigilant

What makes me laugh the most are children. My memories of my children keep me young and going. Thank you for your time; sir, ma'am.

I stare at my father for a few moments when he mentions getting a bite to eat and the "shop would be okay". I chuckle a bit as he mentions Kaspeae's outer beauty.

Is she, I never really noticed. I have always been focused on our shop. I know that you are a spring chicken nowadays, and I refuse to let your work get back logged, how would that look? People entrust is to get their orders done in a timely fashion. I could go for a bite of food, I will get the basket ready.

I pick up the basket, but don't get very far when my father calls me over. I move to the door, and taje in the view before me. I get a lump in my through as I see two heavily armored people with a small village behind them cone towards me.

I..I am Marcus Dale ma'am. Not that I do not beleive you, but can I see some paperwork. I doubt Dieredon or Calex would fail to produce proper material given their punctual demeanor.

After given such material I look to the Empire's soldiers I had heard just today about a looming threat to the Gymnaga, and all nearby. My friends, Dieredon and Calex went to investigate. While I take on the responsibility of leader by proxy while they are away...I ...I my thought stops as I see the faces of the myriad of faces staring at me for some leadership, but most importantly...a sound of reassurance.

I look beyond all gathered, to the woods and fields beyond. Dieredon, Calex, everyone...please be safe and return soon. I just hope I maje the right decisions for all involved?!

Okay, I agree that our bridge and general secluded nature is an asset. I want to start working on huts, and other sleeping areas for all. I, want to be the first be to go to my fellow villagers on the outskirts of town and tell them the situation. I look to my father, hoping he knows that the decisions to come will be some of the most difficult I have ever made.

I address the elven soldier, Sir, I want you and my father to locate our carpenter in the village. I want you three to get some shelters started. The sooner we can get some ready, the better. I want all who came here to be safe, secure, and most importantly comfortable.

Looking towards the woman soldier, Ma'am, please go to the Bread and Board. Lulu and Oscar are good people and I feel will help to calm whatever tensions arose from others in the village who have doubts and fears. While you two are doing that, I will do my best to gather those on the outskirts. Gathering both people and animal in hopes to build a good supply of food and manpower alike

I look to the Children of the Crescent Moon. I walk up to the one who looks to be in charge.

I am very sorry for your loss, but am ever grateful and thank god that your are safe. Everyone has been thrust into chaos by a dangerous threat. I will do my best to make sound decisions and will rely on your knowkedhe as well to make sound choices so both your home and ours can be restored to prosperity and safe haven. For magic items, you pretty much need your valuable masterwork stock item first, which you can either buy or craft yourself ( this choice can save you more money if you can for instance make the masterwork weapon or armor yourself ). For the most part the rules seem to only really differentiate and assign extra cost for masterwork weapons, armor and tools. For wondrous items i believe the items are supposed to be high quality, but no where do they really assign a cost above and beyond the base price for these things. This is probably because the raw item varies so much. Whatever method you get your base unenchanted item there is only one spellcraft roll for the enchanting, and you can take 10 on it.

It was unclear to me if by our rules Spellcraft can count as a craft you can make money on since it isn't a trade per se. Thus I just had Bartleby use his craft armor for some cash. The returns are pretty minimal, and I don't really keep track of all the other threads going on so I am sure i missed a bunch of rolls, although I have also made a few magic items as well.

I am not sure that the craft rolls make up for the profits made from enchanting. Most of us enchanters seem to be cutting buyers a break and offering less than full retail book prices, and the demand for magic items low comparatively I think but still i think enchanters come out ahead probably (although precious feats are spent to achieve this ). I don't feel too bad since I am also woefully behind Wealth by Level standards for my level, which is a separate issue, and should not really bias the argument for craft vs enchant economy, but should be addressed though. Part of the problem is that 1 encounter typically will not provide as much cash you would get for an entire level, since normally you would take many encounters to level up, and have a chance to acquire a lot of treasure. I would say we should add a note for those DMing encounters to inflate the treasure value to x5 or x10 or so. I know we discussed this somewhat on by...

Spellcraft was never discussed as being a means to get a few coins. I would have to say no, simply due to the fact that it isn't a craft/profession. However, I could see those that have it, charging a fee to passer-thru adventurers so that could be a means for making extra coins.

As far as WBL and the wealth disparity, it is difficult, because like you pointed out Bartleby, this is one encounter, and not a series. I do want people to be able to have appropriate funds, so I have been thinking about a solution.

MY WBL SOLUTION

Since there are usually different levels in an encounter (a couple level 1 PC and a couple level 2 PC's), it is hard to give WBL as treasure, since one is supposed to be 1000, and the other is 3000. So, I have an ideas

Option 1) After everyone finishes with their current games; since I think nearly everyone is out on one, all PC's get a bump in the current wealth, to be at the point needed for their WBL. [ie. Bartleby, since he will be level 8, should have 33000 in wealth, so whatever he is missing after the current game, a secret benefactor will give him coin to being him to correct WBL standing)

All Pc's will get bumped to their correct WBL number.

After all Pc's get their bump to the correct WBL values, on future scenarios, whatever goods/coins/loot is given in the adventure by GM's, the GM will simply make up the difference in gp, even if there is no good way to explain it in game.

Portia's eyebrow raised as she is told the plan, she thinks for a moment, i need to stall him. I need to get him to take his time, to get him caught. Even if I go down with him, but he can't hide all the evidence before this auditor lady sees it

Look, I am going with you. I need to see the job to the end and ensure the cargo is safe. I will not take no for an answer, lest you want our employer to hear about your lax security and shoddy merchandise practices?

Of course I worry Kaspeae, but Dieredon and Calex are better suited to find out what happened. If I go running about in a frenzy, what would others in the village do? I use the shop to keep my mind occupied during the day, and it wanders during the night. I agree that song and some upbeat tempo could be used to lift people's spirits with the recent events. Maybe I will see you there later, but I have a few things left to finish for the day, he walks with her to the door and wishes her a good day and good performance.

Marcus sees the spring in her step, but doesn't find it unusual. He turns back and goes to finish working on his projects for the day.

After his workday is done, he closes up shop and heafs towards the Bread & Board, hoping to catch a hot meal and unwind from the day's work.

Kaspeae Havannis wrote:

Are you worried about Alinda? and the question seems to be more difficult for the elven girl to ask than it might be for Marcus to answer.

And then she said,

Everyone is glad that Patricia left you in charge And when Marcus heard that he wasn’t sure he understood, he wasn’t sure he wanted to understand, just what that meant.

Marcus is busy working. The sound of the hammer and the bellows seem to give Marcus a calm demeanor. He is so focused that he does hear his name at first. After a few more times, he looks up to see who is there. Kaspeae stands there, smiling at him. He wipes his hands on his blacksmith apron and walk over to greet her.

Am I worried about Alinda? What do you mean?

He waits for his question to sink in, it takes a moment for Kaspeae's notion of him being left in charge to sink in. He looks up, obviously caught off guard.

What do you mean 'left me in charge'? What have I been volunteered for?

Portia hears Issabelle squeak a couples times. She whistles her over, to see why her feathery friend is all in a fuss.

gut instinct intuition: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 19

When she hears the cow, she draws her sword. She takes a defensive stance, as the cow becomes a woman. She tries to keep her composure, but she cannot help but have her jaw drop.

What the hell is going on. First I am at home in the comfort of my forest, now I am in a strange power struggle between who knows who it how many. There is strange artifacts from another world, dimension. Now there is a talking cow, who is a dopple-something or other.

What exactly is a doppelgänger? as she keeps her blade out just in case.

discovering of Gina:

Vincent is shocked when a girl is found under a bed. He will allow the others to tend to her wounds.

next day after discovery:

Vincent wakes, and again lets the more skilled people at herbs and remedies take care of her. He could do more harm than good right at this moment.

When asked about to stay here and search for clues or head on or back, he simply shrugs.
Go or staying matters not to me. I will do whatever the group decides

Vincent will search the rubble for anything of use for the journey ahead: tools, money, weapons, trinkets

Vincent sees four of his cousins get attacked. He moves up to the strange creature attacking Kiwyn and uses her as a distraction in hopes to land a solid blow.

dagger+flank: 1d20 + 7 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 7 + 2 = 29
damage + sneak: 1d4 + 1 + 1d6 ⇒ (1) + 1 + (3) = 5

crit confirm: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (14) + 9 = 23
1d4 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2

on the road again:

Vincent, never been a large animal lover, Uses the mule only as a last resort. He is used to packing and carrying his possessions. As he has never been used to having much, he is not ignorant to be ill-prepared or without a plan.

He enjoys the trip at hand, enjoys looking at the various wildlife, and trees and nature overall. He enjoyed the break from the town.

He takes out his dagger and plays with it. He does some sleight of hand on occasion, flipping it from knuckle to knuckle. He hums a soft tune, something he heard as a child, that brought his solace and comfort when life was harsh (as it usually was in his viewpoint).

At the end of each night, he takes out a small pad, and draw for a few moments. Most are just doodles, whatever his hands create. Some are of the interesting "cousins", he has learned them to be.

After each drawing, he tosses it in the fire.

int check: 1d20 ⇒ 17 apparently, others didn't see my post from the previous page, so I will paraphrase what was said

Portia, looks on as the contents of the wagon go from normal to the bizarre in a matter of seconds. She looks on, not knowing what she sees, then it all clicks, at once.

She looks around, nervously as there are new faces amongst her group. Could she trust them she wondered. Derrick, Valid, Sithudan, and a few others were with her from the beginning. But what about Thikka, this strange Ritmush character, and Minerva and the others. Will they think she crazy, or can they be trusted.

After a few stressful moments, she decides that these newcomers went into battle with her against these prisoners and slaves. The could be trusted...hopefully she wasn't wrong.

Guys, guys. Derrick, Valind, take a close look at these strange artifacts and gizmos. They look like the other ones don't they. The other ones from the other night. And think back to the other night, when we went spelunking. One of the prisoners said the Dwarf's name was Karl Drespor. How many Dwarves would have the exact same name? Derrick, Valind, you remember don't you?
