I will be traveling from 1/26 through 1/29. I should have good access to the internet and be able to post in the evenings. But feel free to bot as needed.

Mara Thorngage |

The reason I had guessed the caster may have been only 5 ft off the ground is because the frog is medium and this part in the grapple section of Combat: "If you successfully grapple a creature that is not adjacent to you, move that creature to an adjacent open space (if no space is available, your grapple fails)." But if that doesn't make as much sense to GM with a long stretchy tongue, that's fine. I'll have the aether elementals chuck stuff while the ground elementals move into position in hopes of getting her in reach.

Mara Thorngage |

Sorry for my slowness again. Whole family was sick again, covid this time.

Uwe von Roth |

Uwe wants to go check on the lizardmen. He feels responsible for them getting killed by sending the creature down to them.

Uwe von Roth |

I hope she is healing well!

Karita looks around the room, and spots a few useful and/or unusual items. The two tables nearest Zen’Zot appear to have unused alchemical reagents on them. There also appears to be fully created alchemical goods; in total she finds: Alchemist Fire (x2), Air Crystals (x2), Liquid Ice (x1). There are enough raw alchemical product to equate 1 Good.
There are bookcases surrounding this uppermost floor. Most of the books are about history, lore, alchemical processes, and other various topics. Appraise to find out if any are valuable
There is a nice Tien rug on the floor in the middle of the room, with an open book sits atop a pedestal nearest one of the magma elementals. appraise
The green orb, is a 1 foot diameter aquamarine gemstone. appraise
The deceased Serpentfolk Hunter, has some useful equipment: +1 human-bane arrows (x2), potions of cure moderate wounds (x2); +1 composite shortbow with 20 arrows, mwk scimitar, 95 gp
The smaller table near the stairs has a small cave of items: potions of cure moderate wounds (x1), scroll of blur (x1), scroll of daze monster (x1), scroll of hideous laughter (x1), scroll of invisibility (x1), scroll of mirror image (x1), scroll of touch of idiocy (x1), 273 gp
The item between the aquamarine gemstone and the table appears to be an old relic from an old civilization. History to identify more info

No history here.

Zen'Zot Oremite |

Wow - well much thanks for the update DeathQuaker.
My condolences to their family and friends. May they focus on the wonderful things they got to share with him before his passing.
He will be missed here for sure.

Mara Thorngage |

Wow that is tragic and shocking... My thoughts and prayers with the family and friends.

Uwe von Roth |

That is tragic. :(

1 person marked this as a favorite. |

Perhaps we can honor the player, by having Karita become a more permanent background NPC at the store.
Maybe something happens in the tower that precludes her from adventuring anymore, or she chooses not to adventure anymore. Hate to completely lose our preforming alchemist.
Which might be another reason she might stay behind, her performances have been in demand by a portion of the locals as well as demand on some of her more fun concoctions -- kind of like those that could be found at Sugarplum's Sweets Shop in Diagon Alley.
Thus Karita's Inkredible Koncoctions (or KiK for short as in: "Let's get some KiKs." --or-- "Oh silly you (rabbit) KiKs are for TRIDs." Not sure what a TRID is yet but I am sure we can give that acronym a quality meaning.

Mara Thorngage |

I think changing the name of our shop to something with Karita's name in it would be great! Obviously it's a tiny gesture in the shadow of a huge tragedy but it's something we can do.

Uwe von Roth |

Sounds good to me. And then we have a permanent NPC to watch the store that we trust.

Uwe von Roth |

I am sorry, work has slammed me and affected my posting this week. I have a big deadline for next week and all my time is being thrown into that. Please bot me as needed while I take care of this.

Uwe von Roth |

I will be on vaction over the holiday weekend. It sounds like my internet access will be pretty bad. Please bot as needed.

Zen'Zot Oremite |

Hey DM Stylz I mentioned that this game might could use another player and if they say they are interested I will point them in the direction of your recruitment thread -- assuming that is okay with you that is.

Uwe von Roth |

Sure.

Mara Thorngage |

I'm open to a fourth player, if they're reliable. Zen'zot, do they seem like the kind of player who will stay consistently engaged, pay some attention to spreadsheets, that kind of thing?

Zen'Zot Oremite |

Not fully sure, they seem okay hard to read the future as my tea was made from a tea bag -- aka no tea leaves ;-)
Still they have not put in an appearance so maybe they decided not to or are waiting until the weekend or something.

Mara Thorngage |

Ok so it sounds like you know them a little bit but not that much? I mean, it doesn't hurt to try them!

However I do not see any Amulet nor Ring that Uwe mentioned??

Uwe von Roth |

I thought I was given an Amulet and/or Ring to use that we found in the dungeon. Its possible those came somewhere else and I am just misremembering where I picked them up.

Zen'Zot Oremite |

Yeah I think he did acquire such items but I do not recall where they were acquired, to figure it out for sure one of us would have to dig back through the old posts. Any volunteers? ;-)

Mara Thorngage |

Ok so we've got 5000 gp to split up. How about 2000 gp into the shop and 1000 gp into each of our pockets? The money put into the shop will pay us back with ongoing interest, eventually, but it will take a while. The best return on investment room or team (garden) pays for itself in 450 days. So hopefully we'll be skipping along at about a month of downtime at once soon here.
I did build a spreadsheet that makes it much, much easier to make a big batch of downtime rolls. I'll make us a copy.

Uwe von Roth |

That split works for me.

Mara Thorngage |

Ok I'm putting it on my to do list to share the spreadsheet copy tonight.

Mara Thorngage |

Here's the brief downtime guide I wrote and here's a copy of the Downtime Roller and Tracker I made that helps out. Let me know if you guys want to use my sheet and I can throw our current rooms, capital, etc. into it. The current rooms, capital, etc listed are showing what the party has in my other game that uses the downtime system.
On a side note, Gardens seem to be the champion among all rooms and teams in terms of return on investment. They pay for themselves the fastest, pushing you into pure profits territory at high speed. XD
