PbP Gameday V New Character? No Problem! Confirmation! (Inactive)

Game Master Michael Hallet

This game will start with Confirmation, one of my all time favorites and it will roll as long as the game day lasts and people are interested. Planning for Confirmation, then Consortium Compact, then Emerald Spire Level 1. The idea is to take characters to the cusp of level 3 without using up any plays!

Ugh, spiders everywhere! Reminds me too much of home! Schaka shouts as he blunders out of the swarm. He pulls one of his Alchemist's fires when he is free and throws it at the back of the sawrm, hoping to catch as many spiders as possible with the splash. Sorry, Madam Janira!

Matéo's body is able to stay strong despite the mass of spiders biting him. He tries to stay focused, but the swirling mass of spiders is too much for him to handle.

Distraction:

Distraction (Ex)

A creature with this ability can nauseate the creatures that it damages. Any living creature that takes damage from a creature with the distraction ability is nauseated for 1 round; a Fortitude save (DC 10 + 1/2 creature's HD + creature's Con modifier) negates the effect.

Format: distraction (DC 14); Location: Special Attacks.

Nauseated

Creatures with the nauseated condition experience stomach distress. Nauseated creatures are unable to attack, cast spells, concentrate on spells, or do anything else requiring attention. The only action such a character can take is a single move action per turn.

As it is, Mateo, you may move if you desire

Realizing his arrows will not have much effect on such tiny creatures Ravoon steps back cautiously before withdrawing to a further distance to hopefully spread out the spiders tselection of victims.

Sorry guys. I did not pick up a flask when the rest of you did.

M HumanCONFIRM! Level 1 PBP GM

Miklos manages to strike with his flask, making many of the spiders sizzle with the action.

Schaka's apology is more poignant as the flask skips off the top of one of the surging waves of spiders and splashes right onto Janira as she steps out of the way.

"That stings!" she yelps as she tisks her teeth seeing people were less than prepared for these things and draws a wand out, waiting for just the right moment, seeming to ready the wand to see what her companions do.

Robyyn up

Grand Lodge

Male Tengu Monk (Zen Archer) 1 ; HP: 11/11, AC 17, F2 R5 W6

With Mateo out of the way, Janira flicks the wand and a gout of flames flick forward scorching the spiders, though just barely missing the second group.

And the spiders erupt in the flames, leaving a few that disperse into the brush.

To answer your question Ravoon, I'll allow it. The real answer is probably not, but I like creativity and reward thinking out of the box, especially when characters are not as prepared for something at first level! Also, I hate that I rolled the swarms

The other swarm moves from Janira and her scary flames, while attempting to destroy three of the soon-to-be Pathfinders.

Swarms are so particular in how they have to be fought. At first level, it's so easy to miss those items/abilities if you're not paying attention.

Anyone have the heal skill that might want to administer to your poisoned comrades.

Janira slips her wand away and gives a smile as she drops her backpack to the ground and begins rummaging through it. "That was quite quick. I'm impressed with how well you listened! Robyyn has a +2 Wis bonus, so he will attempt some Heal checks. I could Ravoon and Schaka as the poisoned party members, is that correct? We may want some Aid Another checks, if anyone can help. (Also, if it ends up that Robyyn is not the best Heal/Wis, please convert these rolls to Aid Another, as needed).

Robyyn approaches both Ravoon and Schaka, attempting to heal them both of their poisoning. Using his heritage's connection to elemental air, he tries to draw in certain pollens that may help counteract the spider bites.

"Thankyou Robyyn, one would not have thought spiders to be so dangerous."

Both of the inflicted are relieved by the careful ministrations of the witch and as such, the lasting effects of the attack are not carried on.

I'm not oppposed to using it though, if you feel we should use it instead. And I shall be picking up some sort of wand once I have the funds or pull to.

Janira shakes her head, "I do not believe rest is an option at this point...however..." With a few quick movies, the small halfling pulls out another wand and then goes toe ach of the injured, removing the wear on their bodies. "There we are...all healed up. Let's be on our way..."

Janira watches the Pathfinder's-to-be and how much they work together and nods with excitement. "Wonderful! You are showing great cooperation!" and due to said cooperation, they are able to find the cave without losing any time getting there.

Coming out of the dense forest where it opens to a wide clearing at the base of a sheer cliff. Thick vines cover the surface of the cliff stretching 30 feet overhead. “Here! The cave entrance is behind those vines,” Janira says with a broad smile as she walks to the cliff’s face. She pulls back several layers of vegetation to reveal a narrow crack in the cliff’s surface. “This is where I saw the gillmen enter.”

As she motions toward the aperture, the surrounding woods come alive with the sound of small animals fleeing some unseen danger and a large creature crashing through the undergrowth. The halfling worriedly remarks, “Quick, take cover before whatever it is spots us!” As if she’d summoned the creature with her words, a massive horned monstrosity emerges from the trees. Standing eight feet tall on a pair of cloven hooves and wielding a tremendous axe, the bull-headed creature roars with unbridled anger when it spots the group. Wisely assessing that a minotaur is beyond her charges’ capabilities, Janira screams, “A minotaur! There’s little chance we can stand against it. Take this bag,” she continues, pulling off her backpack, “and head deeper into the caves. Finish your mission. I’ll lead it away from the caves, lose it in the forest, and join you as soon as I can. Now go! GO!” She heaves her backpack into the cave, casts a spell, and darts off toward the minotaur before turning to lure it away.

With most of the bag sorted out, the group heads following the cave in the only direction available...
