I will be checking out my soon to be new home in another state. I will leave Monday and should be back by Wednesday. No internet access for those days. Then even more furious prepping for the move in mid September. Likely a bit of time for resuming after the move in mid-September as well. Will update when we get closer in time.

FYI, everyone, we'll be having a new player shortly. An old friend of mine whom I haven't seen in quite a while wanted to try out some Traveller.

I'm finally coming back into a dayily routine and gingerly try to fit a bit of hobby into my life. I'll have to read the backlog first and find out, what Mal has been doing all this time/ what he is doing now. But then I should be active again.

A new player sounds good.

I'm even busier with the final packing with a million things to do and I move this weekend so this is my last post until I get internet up at my soon to be new home. Bot me until I back, hopefully in about a week or so.

I owe you, my players and GMs, an apology for my ongoing absence. My daughter is now 1 month old and it’s me who generally cares for her at night, meaning I’m getting 3-4 hours of sleep a night. It’s not that I don’t have -time- to play these games, it’s that I’m so mentally blasted I don’t have the energy.

As she moves into her second month of life, she is sleeping slightly longer and I hope for more sleep and thus more play in the weeks to come. Thanks for bearing with me. I will eventually get back to the old me. :-)

My children are 4 and 2 years old, so I can still remember this "phase" quite vividly. Just be sure: she will settle down and you will get used to it. Some day in the future you will wake up to an alarm clock at 5 in the morning again and it will feel like sleeping in.
But I can totally understand that energy is a lacking resource at the moment.

ALL - while I knew I would be a little slower because it was my birthday, the next 2 days of bomb threats on my work place took a little more out of me than I had planned. Please bot me as needed, I will be able to attend to my games on Sunday :)

That was sort of my thought Nick, but this dude was really off, like it's sad in a way.

Camris, who plays Linc, has not checked in for some time. He's also AWOL in another campaign I play so I fear for his safety, but there's nothing we can do. If he doesn't appear by the end of this scene (the Wake), I'll write him out of the story along with Zirelle.

My friend should be just about ready to join us, so perhaps there'll be one more ship landing soon!

OK. Character is done. I started playing DnD with the GM back in the 1980s. Haven't played Traveller in ages, so I am really excited to join your group. Honestly this is the craziest bunch of rolls I have ever had for a Traveller character. Normally I'm a blind, missing limbs pirate.

If their is established posting etiquette I am breaking, feel free to dial me in. It seems every PbP is different and I don't want to offend. I am retired military and my language can be course, though reading the recent posts that doesn't seem like it will be a problem. However, if I do manage to offend, just call me out and I'll change it up.

Heads up for Lincoln and Nicholas. I made a connection during character generation. Ryan, who you all only know as Rooster, was the remote drone operator that ran the salvage op to stabilize the shuttle you two were trapped on. The ship I served aboard, the SUN TAN, transferred the survivors and we all meet briefly to shake hands.

Sorry about being AWOL. Got caught up in some stuff and then became sick, should have said something earlier. Feeling a bit better now but still low on energy.

My daughter has begun sleeping through the night! I might have two seconds to rub together now!

I remember those days when the kid finally strings eight hours of sleep together. I was elated and so grateful. Getting up every few hours is a recipe for insanity.

Understandable, Erryll, I could not come up with any response to the statement that there was no will except to say I didn't have one, which seemed boring. If the Referee wants I could make it but I don't see how that would advance anything.

I remember when I first started with PbP, and someone posted something like, "Well, it's the holidays, and I'll be baking; will probably post in a couple weeks." I was like, for real? I won't remember this character's backstory in 3 weeks without rereading it. I was stunned.

I get that life happens and stuff, I really do. But here's the thing, I've seen people text. Actually, in my last career, I was an email architect, so I am pretty clear on what it takes to get a post posted.

I love other people's lives, I love other people's boundaries, I love other people's families. But when part of the campaign pitch is "a 10 year committment" - well I am expecting the same thing from everyone.

All I want at this point is for these campaigns to cease to be clutter in my campaigns page. Seems like a simple request, and I really do wish the best to everyone remaining. Have a great 2024 :)

It does not seem as though botting would be needed Ben. This campaign seems to be on permanent hiatus, the referee has not posted in months. I have stopped regular checking now, I saw the previous two posts by chance.

As to frequent stops for RL issues, that is the normal fate of most PbPs. One that posts several time a week, every week, for years, is a rare bird indeed, maybe legendary. Maybe you will find or be what you are looking for Erryll. Good Luck to you as well.
