Don't fear any pressure. We all understand the need to take a break, as well as the dread of the built-up stuff upon returning. Glad you're okay!
DM rainzax |
I don't know how battered everyone is looking, so mayhaps, if there's need for it.
It looks as though players have been keeping track in their Character Bars?
Mandoo |
Since the GM has given us the option...
Mandoo has 3 hero points up for grabs by anyone who can use one.
If you need one, then just use it and say so in your post so that I can keep track of when they run out.

Are we in danger of becoming Fatigued if we don't take a rest? We're at 8+ hours just in the temple, let alone the full day of exploration before that.

Besides Occultism & Society, what are the other two skills we can use for the tablets & ocularity?

Best as I can tell from the Archeology Tracker, the following things help:
Stone Tablets of Ai'Sheen: Religion DC 20, Society DC 20, Occultism DC 18, Academia Lore DC 13, Library Lore DC 13, Athletics to Aid DC 20
Map-Mural of Koloran: Society DC 18, Scribing Lore DC 13
Cyclopean Occularity: Occultism DC 18, Perception DC 23
I may have missed something though.
The best Mandoo can do to help is Athletics DC 20 to aid with the tablets (done) and Perception DC 23 for the occularity (to do).

Resting rules say that fatigue sets in at 16 hours since last "sleep". Length of sleep is not defined so by RAW that means that a 5 minute nap should take care of it :) Mandoo had a 6 second nap during combat, so he's good to go for another 16 hours :)
Regardless, the downside of being Fatigued is pretty minor, so we could just suck it up and push through to the end.

Hmm ... Has that had errata? One of my first PF2 games had us getting hit with fatigue early on, and it didn't allow for ANY exploration activities. No regaining focus, no treat wounds ... it was a pain for a bunch of first level characters and a non-magical healer who couldn't use treat wounds (before there were ways to cheese out Battle Medicine).
But, even then, less of an issue this close to the end of the adventure.
Mandoo |
I forgot about Nal's Wounded 2 condition. She would've preferred to rest for 20 minutes before getting started on the Occularity to overcome that.
I'm afraid that Battle Medicine explicitly states that it does not remove the wounded condition.
You cannot remove the wounded condition unless all your hit points are restored and you wait 10 minutes or someone does Treat Wounds on you. Unlike Battle Medicine, Treat Wounds does remove the wounded condition.

Archives of Nethys is pretty good about keeping up with all the errata. For the Fatigued condition, you take a -1 to AC and saving throws and You can't use exploration activities performed while traveling, such as...
So unless we're currently considered to be "traveling" (GM call), then it appears that anything we might do in this room (except saving throws) is probably not affected.
Regardless, it is up to the GM to tell us if we're about to get fatigued; what activities are affected by that fatigue; and what we need to do to avoid becoming fatigued.
As you say, given that we're probably wrapping things up here, this is likely not going to be an issue.
Olnik Shadowstone |
Just looked in the Core Rulebook, and the original wording for that bit was:
While exploring, you can't choose an exploration activity.
So the GM took that to mean no Investigate, no Treat Wounds, no Refocus, no Identify Magic ... no activities with the "Exploration" tag. And that adventure, sort of like this one, had a long series of "Spend 10 minutes investigating the abandoned church" and "spend 10 minutes identifying this holy relic" and similar activities ... and the fatigued person was completely useless through all of it, until suddenly he was able to act during combat.
Glad to see the new wording on Fatigued.
Olnik Shadowstone |
Since it looks like Nal is down 2 hp, Symeon can Treat Wounds to remove her Wounded condition.

@Fatigue
It looks like Pre-Temple Exploration took About 8 Hours?
Add that now to each Round representing About 1 Hour x 8 Rounds = 8 Hours.
I'd say that it's a fair assessment that Continuing Through with Rounds 9, 10, 11, and beyond, would indeed be the choice between:
Rest
or
Study the fading Mural
(Aside: Fatigue, as Olnik points out, only prevents "transitional" Exploration Activities like Defend, Detect Magic, Investigate, Search, Scout, but most certainly not casting a spell, refocusing, using a skill, and general character functionality. It would, however, lower your Defenses, as stated in the Description for Fatigue)
Fair Assessment?
Nal Bagura |
That works. She'll just sit around for 20 minutes before getting started.

One other question: are we actually at 0/10 Treasure Bundles? I feel that we've been more successful than that, so am wondering if maybe the GM's tagline just hasn't been updated.

The latter. Will update shortly!

2 @ Area B2 (silver shards from Abissal Fungi - DM did not mention previously)
1 @ Area B1 (salvaging partial Archeological Records from the three Artifacts: Orb, Tablets, Mural)
3 @ Area B4 (Valgomorus' ancient large-sized Greataxe and remaining wardrobe)

Did we miss anything? if not, then let's wrap this up.
Players,
This last part of the adventure is entirely optional - feel free to post or refrain at your pleasure. That said, I would nudge you towards posting at least once more, if I may be so bold as to ask.We are 6/6 on Contact Info
Whether or not you participate, you can expect your chronicles within the next 48 hours.
Cheers!
Elsha Ustosh |
I trust you'll take down that open link with the emails once you have them copied somewhere else?
Mandoo |
Got the chronicle. Did we not earn any income along the way?
Not that I'm all that attached to Mandoo's extra 8cp, but it appears to be missing from the other chronicles as well.
Ooops. Never mind. I see it listed in the 'Downtime" section at the bottom. I'm more used to it being listed in the "Earn Income" field on the right.
Looking at the Boons field (or should that be the 'No Boons' field :), I see they copy-pasted it from the S2-00 King in Thorns. Lol. Looks like we won't be getting any boons from that one either. Looks like Chronicle Boons are being de-emphasized in Season 2.
Redd Appleblossom |
Our gold earned from earn income should go into the "earn income" box on the right. The downtime box is for actual downtime activities. Like, "Redd spends 8 days out of 30 to retrain Maestro Muse to Polymath Muse", that goes into the downtime box.
Nal Bagura |
Nal's sheet is missing her earned income (40sp). I've put this in the contact sheet.
Also, the boon states: "Congratulations on completing King in Thorns!" Shouldn't it say "Citadel of Corruption" instead?
DM rainzax |

Not true!
In the "Boons" tab of the "Organized Play" section, there is a Boon that grants Access to the Cyclops language!
(Whether that excites you or not is a different story...)

True enough. I looked and the only boons I found for Season 2 are:
PFS (2ed) Scenario #2–00: The King in Thorns
PFS (2ed) Scenario #2–03: Catastrophe's Spark
PFS (2ed) Scenario #2–08: A Frosty Mug
But that seems to be it for the 10 scenarios. Season 1 has boons for pretty much every scenario, so it looks like they're paring that back a fair bit in Season 2.
I suspect that knowing the Cyclops's language will be quite useful during Season 2 if the couple of scenarios that I've played of it are anything to go by.

@Mandoo - once I report the game into system (later today), the boon should show up. Stand bye!

The sheet looks fine, although a bit irritating that it doesn't offer at least any higher level equipment. Ah, well.

Looks like post 500 from our GM wraps things up. It was fun playing an adventure that was a little more than just combat encounter after combat encounter, even if Mandoo isn't much good for anything else.
Thank you DM rainzax for the excellent GMing; I only wish there were more like you out there. I also enjoyed all the great roleplaying from the players as well. No doubt we'll all cross paths again in the future.
Redd Appleblossom |
I'll definitely be keeping an eye out for Catastrophe's Spark. Any chance we could all get together and play through it? Same GM, too?
Thanks for a wonderful game, Rainzax & everyone!
I look forward to adventuring with any of you down the road.

Thanks again for running this Rainzax, definitely a lot of fun!
