Yeah, without shield block it doesn't matter. We'll likely have a means to acquire one by then. Using a 1st level spell slot to restore 5 hit points to the shield isn't a particularly efficient way of maintaining the shield anyway.

Thalassa Tempestail |

I will be away from March 14th to March 18th (UTC +8) for a family vacation. During this time, I will not be available. I may occasionally check the game on my phone, but posting here will be difficult for me during that time. Botting instructions are available in her profile.

Jacen Benedictt |

Five sets of double bunk beds mark this room as a barracks. On the northern wall is a small set of cabinets and a simple standing rack for scrolls. Footlockers sit between the beds. As you open the door, you see three people. One in full armor! She yells out, Get them!
FIGHT!

Having updated his status line, may Jacen please be included in this battle? The chronomancy takes a lot out of him ...

GM did say post your actions when you can, so I'd say go for it. :)

Kazmuk Kalingston |

I saw the amount of damage the armoured lady did to Thalassa. She hit her twice and rolled double digits on the damage. Is Thalassa down? This affects my turn.

Thalassa Tempestail |

It looks like I am down with that total amount of damage, unfortunately.

Thalassa Tempestail |

I'd like to inform everyone that I will be unavailable from April 27th to 30th (UTC +8) for an out-of-town summer vacation. Please bot me when needed. Botting instructions are posted on this character's profile.

Thalassa Tempestail |

I am back and slowly getting back to the games. Many apologies for the extension of my absence, May 1 is a holiday and I was invited to spend the holiday with relatives that I didn't have a chance to update many of my games here in the Forums.

If your missing a token, drop it in! Sorry if I lost anything.
Assume any issues are due to idiocy on my part and not malice!
Part on Thalassa! This is just a game, and we all need all kind of fun in our lives.

Quick question about stealing your thunder? Do you want me to roll perception when you all enter a room and assume you explore if there is no fight right away?
I want to help move things along but I also don't want to steal your agency.

![]() |

Yeah, the agency comes from picking our exploration action. Technically, by the rules, almost everything we roll in exploration (tracking, perception, investigate, stealth, etc.) are supposed to be secret anyway, so you'd normally be rolling it and just telling us what results we know about.

Absolutely true, but I always hated secret rolls. I paid for my dice damn it! Let me roll them! lol

Kazmuk Kalingston |

Yeah sure, that's fine for me. Helps move things along.
Also GM, not that it mattered for this fight, but I'm pretty sure my initiative is +7. +4 for Expert, +1 for level, +2 for my wisdom.

Kazmuk Kalingston |

Pine I think you forgot to use your int modifier for your Devise a Strategem attack roll, your strategic strike damage and to double it on your crit. That's a d6 of precision damage you've been missing out on (2d6 on crit).

Thanks for the reminder.

If dice are rolled in a forest, and no one is there to here them (or the ground is really soft and they do not make the really comforting die roll sound), have they really been rolled at all?

It matters not that dice do not produce sound when they hit the ground. So long as the dice have left the palm of the thrower, they have been rolled.
- Old Man Jatembe, probably.

Let's be lazy/correct! I use this page to keep all the base rolls going. Everyone check my coping skills from long ago!

so since this is my game, go for the free thing. Im not gonna make life harder than it can be.
Have fun with making your character what you want.

I have not counted our loot but I think I have a +1 greatsword. How much would it cost to buy hand wraps and have the +1 rune transferred to said hand wraps?

Yeah, this was kinda what I was asking about.
Like I get that Kaz was carrying the +1 Greatsword, but where is the part where we add stuff up and then someone speaks for the 35gp item they want versus gold and/or we agree that we're selling everything.

not many magic goods yet. more to come!
I have the hand crossbow and bolts from the person who jumped us on the road, and a couple of vials of poison. Not sure if we found any treasure/valuables along the way (aside from the magic greatsword), if someone wants to buy anything.

I added a slide onto the slide deck/maps listing out all of the treasure that we found, and what I could see about who said they were claiming what.

sounds good! Want to do anything in town or fast forward back to the tunnel?

Okay, so I know I'm the Investigator, but I'm honestly not sure what pieces of information we've been able to gather. Here is what I think we have:
1. Blanton was a priest of Gorum who seems to have been infected with a rusting disease. His body somehow washed up near our town. Did we discover how that happened? Did he flee, or did someone dump his body? Is that still unknown to us?
2. Captain Perrios was taken up to the manor and I don't think we found a body fitting her description. There were also some other crew members who came with her. Any lead on any of them?
I'll switch my Blanton lead over to Lord Ragnulf. If Perrios seems to still be alive, I'll leave her as my second lead for now.

Ever so sorry, but ... we know all this stuff too, right?
The man grunts at the psychic but turns to face the catfolk... You think I went south? I haven't left... I REMAINED FAITHFUL!....the others they didn't....“A week ago, a Thassilonian man named Meitremar arrived, claiming to be a merchant from Xin-Edasseril. He spoke with Lord Ragnulf for an entire night. When they emerged at dawn, they gathered us all in the worship hall and spoke of bringing war to Osprey Cove, subjugating all other settlements on Chakikoth Isle, and forging an alliance with Xin-Edasseril And with that he spits into the fire and it flares up. You can tell he now hates the man he once followed.
At the end, Lord Ragnulf spoke of a sickness among our ranks, and claimed that his new friend Meitremar had brought him a way to expose that sickness. He opened a bottle, and it filled the hall with foul-smelling air. Several of my kin doubled over in pain—it looked as if their skin was rusting—and Lord Ragnulf ordered the rest of us to ‘put down the blasphemers’. I’m glad to say I did not mindlessly obey, but many others did, and the fighting that followed was awful. THEY ABANDONED OUR GOD! and as he says that he punctuates each word by pounding the sword he working on with his hammer as sparks and hate fly..
I alone survived. They keep me alive because they value my skill at working metal, but they no longer worship the Lord in Iron. They see glory in the rust instead. Meitremar and Lord Ragnulf have gone beyond the rusted door below now, and closed it tight in their wake, but they left behind that awful, splitfaced monster to keep those who have betrayed my kin in line. You must save Lord Ragnulf! He knows
not what he’s done! and ask he makes that last request he turns to you and you can see the tears in his eyes. It's been a rough experience for him. What other questions do you have for him?

Jacen Benedictt |

So having not found the Captain or the Elder, our hope should be that the smith simply didn't know that they were being taken captive, which is what anyone smart would do, because we DO know that the baduns want to attack Osprey Cove, and the ship of a hostage captain in order to do that with AND an Elder of the community to coerce into helping detail its defences would be pretty dumb resources to waste.
Just my 2 coppers ...

Kazmuk Kalingston |

Kazmuk will listen to Jacen. He's smart, Kazmuk only wants to punch and drink and both at the same time. Kazmuk would vote for just walking down the stairs to the basement and seeing what we find...although some magic runes would be nice too.

My Blanton theory is that he knew the nefarious plan to attack Osprey Cove and was coming to warn the town but sadly expired due to the Rust Pandemic
