It feels like we bogged down again, between Anton, the pile of rocks and real life. Everyone doing ok?

I'll admit a full third of my games haven't been posted in since before Christmas and another third have slowed down. Which I get happens. But of those twelve games, this game is the one I hope survives the slump the most.

Seconding what Ian said. This is a great group and I hope that it keeps going. I've been in another WotR game, and it also died at just about this time. I'd really like to see this one continue.


The slow down is on me. I have no plans to shut this down but it may be slow for a bit. I haven't gotten around to fixing the desktop or setting up the new one yet and I'm competing with life and my wife to use the laptop.

Anton didn't respond to the PM I sent so we are going to need to replace him as well.

It's cool, glad to hear it's just technical difficulties. Not sure the best way to replace Anton, shall we just have him fight defensively this fight, then find someone to replace him?

I will concur with Ian and Dadna - this is a great game and I am glad to hear it will keep going.

Do you think you will want suggestions for a new player?


I prefer to get a somewhat known quantity in rather than opening a recruitment and not knowing what you get, so yeah I'm open to suggestions.

Glad to hear that it isn't shutting down, and am totally alright with it being slow. Best of luck with the laptop issues!

Also, seconding having a person of known quality. Recruitments take a long time, and very often end up with another player dropping.


I thought I was clear but I guess not, Ardriel move straight up in the air, there is nothing except himself to tie the rope off too. Ardriel can see the caster and the beasts as he is higher than the pile. If you have questions please read the levitate spell description.

Can Leothar help move Ardriel laterally?

Leothar is probably about 8'8", so his vertical reach is maybe 11' or so?


I am sorry for disappearing like I did. I didn't realize it was that long. THings are a bit messy currently and I still don't have the desktop up and running. Today was the first day in a while I have managed to get on the laptop. Let's try to get this moving again. It may be slow but it will move.

Anton is dead. You can loot him for potions on his sheet.

It is late evening well after sunset but before midnight. The army can not cross the riverbed with the bridge collapsed. You will need to take a few days of manual labor to construct ramps for the army to use.

I'm in another game with Fley, he explained to the gm (in Slack) that he's been taking care of his sick mother, so he hasn't ghosted, just very busy.

I guess we are taking a few days to build ramps.

Can we, the PCs, go on ahead to start clearing or at least scouting out the Citadel while our army builds ramps?

Hey! Sorry for not posting lately. I've had a very rough last few weeks. My mom was hospitalized after a nasty ski accident. Spent a lot of time with family. Then got COVID pretty bad. Been trying to get on, but had close to no energy to post for a bit. Not feeling 100% yet, but I'm back. Will read up to see what I've missed and push out an update.

Hi everyone! I'll be coming into the game in the near future. Great to be here!

I'm currently working on my character so I'd like to solicit any recommendations you might have to cover things the party needs or wants.

This is where I'm at right now:

Human Paladin of Sarenrae (Sacred Servant) 7 / Guardian 2, with a build probably similar to a Guardian you had in the past, with a reach weapon and combat reflexes.

Sacred Servant will give the Light Domain and bring in a couple of spells not on the Paladin list, plus extra spell slots.

Fast Learner for a few extra skills points to cover holes.

Unsanctioned Knowledge for a few more spells not on the Paladin list.

This will cost smites per day so maybe a more combat support oriented build than pure melee bruiser, but we'll see.

Alright, here's my first draft. Most of the big decisions have been made, with class, mythic, feats, and major purchases decided. I haven't worked through assigning skill points yet so you can ignore that part.

I'm overwriting another character sheet, which I'm using as a template, so things that look really off in here or there are probably that way for this reason.

Her BAP section will need some modifications for the new character, but the general contours of Agna's background will be the same. She is an ex-Gray Maiden who found redemption through Sarenrae. She came to Mendev to put in some time on atonement.

I read through Agna and Joska sounded familiar so I looked and you played with Kevin in another Wrath.

There are a few non core items in the build. I am ok with a guardian having bodyguard, my issue with it is unlimited uses. I am considering restricting it to what you would normally get without the unlimited AoO from mythic combat reflexes, 2. You would still get unlimited AoO attacks with your weapon just limited use of bodyguard. What does everyone think or alternatives suggestions or defenses of unlimited use are welcomed."

I know I ok'd unsanctioned knowledge for the archmage and heirophant, does anyone remember if I opened it up to everyone?

Wow, so sorry about disappearing there. Here's the post I've been putting up in my other games:

Once again I'm very sorry it's taking me so long to get posts up. Both April and early May have been just overwhelming. My workload is up and we transitioned back to working in the office part time. Since I work for the state and all such changes happen at all state offices together, it was a big change with many, many meetings and emails involved. On top of that many federal rules changed at the start of May as Covid-19 policies and procedures are replaced with 2+ year old versions from before. That meant many more meetings and emails.

Meetings would sometimes run so long over their scheduled slots they would completely swallow the meetings scheduled behind them, which would then have to be rescheduled. With all this going on we also still had our regular work to get done somehow. I also had a pet die. It's been a lot.

I think I'm mostly in the clear now with work and things will be returning to normal again. I'll be catching up on gameplay over the next two or three days.

I hope I haven't been too much trouble to wait for.

Oh! You were Kevin in that game! It's really too bad about that one. I really wanted to see what could be done with such a crazy, souped up set of characters.

But yeah, I hijacked Joska's backstory for Agna. I like the idea of it, and have been wanting to play an ex-Gray Maiden for a while. It's also easier and faster than starting from scratch.

I'll try to get the rest of the conversion of the backstory and so forth finished just a soon as I have catch up posts in for my current games.

I'm not a particularly rules savvy player, but I was figuring this is how it would work. I didn't assume unlimited AoO's would translate into unlimited use of Bodyguard. Fine with me since it's exactly what I was expecting anyway!

@GM, as to Unsanctioned Knowledge, I believe you approved it for everyone.
