No, it's not really relevant.
Yeah. I have a feeling we would not be facing him in combat directly. It does not seem his style and we do not really know how the plot will end at this point anyways. This is a good thing. If we knew how it would turn out then playing it would be a lot less fun.
Of course he can be sitting at initiative 11 for all I know. :)
Your opportunity to find out more about him was talking to Eliza and Eylysia in the last scenario. Hamish had a real bad habit of only getting half an answer before walking away. :P
CG Half-Elf Summoner 13
Ya, that sounds like me...
Great attention span. =)
CG Half-Elf Summoner 13
Hamish ran afoul of Torch shenanigans in the Destiny of Sands stuff.
That man should not have gotten a sage jewel. Grumble!
Though have hit most of the other highlights on other characters, so assume those are written up somewhere. =)
On the other hand, you did preemptively roll the checks needed to avoid suspicion, so I was able to just roleplay out the conversation without breaking flow. :)
CG Half-Elf Summoner 13
Did the Gull get an AoO on the daemon thing, when it darted back in to stab Hamish? (with 15' reach on the harpoons)
And what was the result of the Thunderclap saves? Can Hamish still hear?
It has 10ft reach with the chains, so it moved to 20ft from the Gull. Yuri was able to AoO, but missed. Deafening was only one round, so it's up.
CG Half-Elf Summoner 13
ok! the description of stabbing with a knife seemed more up close and personal. Knives on the ends of chains... that seems more daemonic!
They're the embodiment of death by torture and painful traps. So yeah, Hamish would not have enjoyed a night with her.
CG Half-Elf Summoner 13
Hey now... two consenting adults!
Hamish consents to be tortured to death?
CG Half-Elf Summoner 13
I'm sure he could talk his way out of it!
Or at least, he'd think he could. =)
Did the Gull lose the ability to overcome cold iron/silver? Or was that just left off by accident?
CG Half-Elf Summoner 13
Actually, I rechecked that, and turns out it was in error!
Its actually just magic, good, chaotic for the magic attacks evolution! (for some reason I thought it progressed through the other two on the way there, as you leveled)
Alright, the daemon will last just a little bit longer. :P
CG Half-Elf Summoner 13
Lets yuri get the chance to head butt it!
Maybe not. Bombshell got in there first. :)
@Grandmaster TOZ - I am wondering about the position of the helm relative to Hamish and Rokgurn. Are they still within 30' of it? I am asking due to the negative energy powers of the Death Knight's armor.
Excellent point, let me bring that back up.
I am just wondering about timing. Originally I thought about just hitting Hamish with a Heal but it is too risky with the armor there. I have Blessing of the Salamander which is a Transmutation (Polymorph) effect that provides Fast Healing 5. I am wondering if that would stop the bleeding. Would he bleed for another turn due to the fact that my character was on delay?
My understanding is that fast healing doesn’t stop bleed due to the restricted nature of the effect requiring a spell that heals hit points, not a spell that grants fast healing. The fast healing will kick in but not stop the bleed. Stupid rules.
CG Half-Elf Summoner 13
Ha... for some reason I read the info on deathknights earlier as the aura only affecting channeled healing ... but it does indeed say all...
Which means even if I'd managed to activate the wand, it probably wouldn't have worked. (CL of 1!)
Hmm...
CG Half-Elf Summoner 13
And, to further add insult to Hamish's poor planning... his whole 'greater invis' trick last round... would have been negated by Kasimir's invis purge!
Probably a good thing Bombshell obliterated him right then =)
Also, the helm grants true seeing.
CG Half-Elf Summoner 13
Ha! Was an even worse plan then. =)
But Fate is always on his side!
Update to come once I get home from dinner. Rokgurn, let me know if you are staying on delay.
Ok I went old school with a Heal check. You better watch out Hamish because Bombshell will be checking you out. :)
Fair play, headed to the brew house now, back in a couple hours.
@Kasimir - I don't want to speak in absolutes but I agree with you. Sometimes you just need an extra hand to carry something. Get a buckler or light shield for a Druid and then at least you have another hand to hold a metamagic rod.
Full disclosure, I treated Saviya as having a light shield during the final battle of part one. The crimson blade requires wielding to use its images and they have her tactics being spells. And they gave her a bloody heavy shield, making that impossible. So I fudged a bit to make it as written.
CG Half-Elf Summoner 13
For the record... Hamish only thinks he has a manly chest.
He's actually pretty scrawny.
26 Charisma says that the ladies like it a lot despite what Hamish might think about his own physique. ;)
Being strong and looking good are definitely not the same thing at all.
Look, Hamish has that Cha for his personality, not his “assets”.
Well he certainly has that in spades. Still Bombshell already mentioned that she liked how he looks so I guess there is no accounting for taste. ;)

Does True Seeing help with understanding the ritual?
True Seeing is not required to attempt to control the ritual.

Since the Gull moved, I believe that Yuri can only single attack, correct?
Other than attacking the daemon, other options include a) attempting to spell sunder the ritual. Does Yuri think that this is something he can attempt from his current position (i.e. within 20' of the Gull)?, or b) attempting to sunder either Vahlo's armor, blade, or helm - are any of those within 20' of the Gull?
Alternatively, if any of those things are further than 20', can Yuri Air Walk to them or does the wind prevent that?
You would be able to air walk, but unless you land on a roof, the winds will push you after your sunder attempt. Whisper doesn't think that sundering the ritual will help to direct it, rather it would cause the massed energy to explode sooner. Graveknight armor usually needs more than a simple sunder to truly destroy it.

Ok, will go with a simple single attack on the daemon.
I'm sorry, Yuri. You left her at 1HP.

Quote: Any action that would dissipate spells, form a solid barricade, manipulate energy, or understand the play of magical force So, if I get this correct, we have a (likely small) window to either dispel it, encase it in something solid, somehow manipulate the energy (what sort of energy is it?), or use an appropriate knowledge check (arcana I assume?).
Will guess that more than one such are needed...
So if you can do any of those things, now's the time. =)
Hamish can encase it in a sphere of stone... (but once he does so, I'd guess other options become harder, so best those happen first).
Kasimir could greater dispel it... but I think he cast that already.
Bombshell seems a lock for the skill check.
Seems like that Source Severance spell of Rokgurn's might do something?
Dunno about Yuri and Omrax... though the later just healed his ride, so guess he went =)
That seem right to folks?
Would Yuri's spell sunder count as dissipating spells or manipulating energy?
Guys don't forget there is a boon from last adventure letting you make Knowledge checks with maximum ranks and assuming that it is a class skill. If you have no other way to contribute you might want go that way.
I don't know the mechanics of this rift but let us try not to fail our checks as it might make the situation worse.
As a side note at least Life Bubble is keeping everyone dry and comfortable in the rain storm.
@Grandmaster TOZ - As we are in initiative I am going with the assumption that we cannot take 10 on our knowledge checks unless we have a special ability (Bard) that would allow us to do so. But if I am wrong let me know as my rolling is typically horrible.
That is correct, initiative is still on.
Whisper doesn't think Ball Lightning would have any positive effect, if Rokgurn has another option to try.
Can we stack multiple barrier spells? I was thinking of summoning multiple Mephits to cast Wind Walls then (hat tip - Kasimir).
Otherwise he can try a Spellcraft roll (if allowed) or use a boon to pump up his Knowledge Arcana to acceptable levels.

Yuri will spell sunder or sunder, if either of those could be effective (but I think from what the GM said they won't be?). Alternatively, he could use the boon from the last scenario to make a Knowledge check of some kind. I don't have the boon text in front of me though. But I think it would be +18 (Yuri is level 13, +3 for class skill, and 14 INT). Would need to drop out of rage to do this though.
That is up to you. Spell sunder unfortunately isn't close enough to the listed options to count. (Manipulate energy's example is a kineticist taking a point of burn to siphon off some of the force.)

Ok, posted a Knowledge check. Does it matter which kind of Knowledge? (I'm using the boon from last time, so they will all be mathematically equivalent).
