My House Rules for Hero Points:

Hero Point Mechanics:

1) One permanent Hero Point may be used to avoid a final death scenario allowing a narrow cinematic escape,

2) One temporary Hero Point may be used if you are between -1 and -9 hit points to stabilize yourself to prevent further blood loss,

3) Temporary Hero Points may be expended to power Feats. These grant a lasting bonus for a one scene or one round duration depending on the feat description,

4) One temporary Hero Point grants a character a chance to supplement their d20 roll by 1d6 and add the result (whatever it was - no re-roll) to the d20 result,

Progression system:
Level 1-10 1d6,
Level 11-20 2d6,
Level 21-?? 3d6. and

5) No more than one Hero Point may be expended per round.

Shadow's Status

Manacles are detailed on page 68 of Ultimate Equipment. The specifics of their effects are largely left to the GM’s discretion, due in large part to manacles’ versatility.

Let's take the position that the manacles on your ankles reduce your speed to 1/2 and you lose your Dex bonus to AC. The manacles on your wrists give a -3 to all unarmed attack rolls though if you grapple a foe while wearing them you can try to choke the foe with them as an improvised weapon.

The guards waste no time getting close to Pink-Eye and Gauntlet, instead they draw their shortbows and fire rounds at the two manacled but dangerous combatants.

Pink-Eye take the first arrow in the throat, Take 6 damage. The second soldier has his bowstring break! The third misses Gauntlet perhaps due to his poor angle in the doorway.

Dev:
You see the guards who were previously in the middle of the road splitting up, one mounts a horse and rides towards the fires where the Grig set off a light show, the other two race towards where Aerin has un-tethered the horses.

Frank:
You see another patrol race towards the fires where the Grir set off its light show.

The horses that Aerin has freed react poorly to the sudden loud explosions and run away from that sound! They head to the north, towards the grey mist of the Mournland, you expect they would not enter but have no control over that now.

Meridian:
Garrow replies, "Indeed, can you..." before he can finish his sentence a few loud explosions go off in the camp! Stepping into the building is a female with dark skin and braided hair.

"Another assualt", she states rolling her eyes.

Garrow snarls, "Bring all undead and troops back here! This is the prize, let them fight their way to it, if they can".

She steps back outside.

He turns to you... [ooc]Before he can say anything more it will be your action.

I'm unsure when we get to go, but since its just us and the three guards, I'm assuming its our turn now...

Without hesitating, Gauntlet turns his hands towards the archers and fires back! With concentration, glowing blue energy en-wraps Guantlet's two pointing fingers and it suddenly flies off dancing toward the enemies to slam into two of them.

Casting Magic Missile! Auto Hit! Two missiles at 3rd level...one to the one who hit Pink-Eye and the other to the one who bow-string broke!

Force Damage(Accurate shooter): 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3

Zabeth rushes up toward the fray, but first makes for cover behind a still standing wall. Though the situation is tense, she can't help but smile as the adrenaline she'd been craving courses through her body, and Kana's artfully deft movements further stir her spirit.

The soldiers that Pink-Eye and Gauntlet launch their powers at look to the north then move to the south nodding as if in response to some instructions, leaving the doorway cleared. This begs the question, why?

The soldiers near the two buildings, engage Electric-Eye, while the mounted foe and a fourth begin firing arrows at Viorr. The first flail bounces harmlessly off or EE while the second hits but the impact is minimal. Take 2 damage EE.

Two arrows sail harmlessly around Viorr.

Viorr and Electric-Eye then see three more soldiers that must have been guarding between the buildings come out to reinforce these four. One has a sword in hand and looks join his comrades in attacking Electric-Eye or is perhaps looking to engage Viorr while the other two draw arrows but hold in position.

Viorr and Electric Eye also see two undead through the smoke created by the Grig begin to stir...

The much needed help arrives! Viorr strikes EE's foe and he does the same, throwing a thrust aimed at the guard's heart.

Viorr moves into attack position to aid EE and flanks one of the surrounded Warforged's foes, his twirling blades miss the foes arm but strikes the foes buttocks. EE arcs an attack towards his right and instead spins to the left plunging his rapier through the foes heart and bringing down the first of the soldiers of the Emerald Claw.

Dev's bolt strikes the foe that fired an arrow at Viorr and it hits home, the man cries out in agnony but does not fall, he does thogh turn his head south looking at Dev with hate filled eyes.

Viorr and Electric Eye see a dark skinned female warrior round the corner of the far building. She has a greatsword drawn.

As the invisible grig flying overhead turns the nearer campfire into a huge ball of ash that fills the space between the larger intact building and the nearby ruins, Frank moves around the corner and fires his heavy crossbow at the only enemy he can see that isn't engaged in melee with Electric Eye.

The Grig's pyrotechnics flare up goes up in smoke and chokes the visibility of the foes.

Seeing the cloud rushing at them, two of the soldiers move back instead of firing into the smoke.

Meanwhile Frank fires heavy crossbow at one of the enemies. The hit is a killer striking him in the thigh and clipping a major artery, he hits the ground screaming in agony.

Zabeth uses the confusion to slide next to EE and strike the remaining foe that can be seen on this side of the smokescreen. The soldiers armor deflects the blow.

Talia meanwhile hustles forward to be close with her allies.

Aerin spurred her stolen horses around the ruins, coming up behind the group of allies.

"Mount up! Time for a daring rescue!" she grinned.

Horses double move. Anyone who wants to go for a Quick Mount can join me for what I have planned next (the horses are all still roped together, so I'm driving this train.

She slowed enough to give them a chance to join her if they wished, but she was clearly not stopping.

With a sidelong throw she sent a curved blade winging through the air toward the guard in front of Zabeth and Electric Eye.

Note that 1 square is 10' so the horses are being pushed very hard as to get them where they are on the map exceeds the 250' of their run movement. I'm ok with that for a round but they may get worn out if the push continues at this pace.

There is a breif struggle within Viorr as he weighs being astride a horse again against rushing to engage another foe...but the ropes connecting the horses decides it for him. Blades spinning, he steps up to the next opponent and strikes.

Oh, 10' per square? Now that I think about it, 5' squares would've made the buildings quite small xD
Then the smoke cloud will still fill up the space in between buildings except for a small gap, but since it's half as wide, I'll go make a quick adjustment...

Sorry, should have been clear from outset that the squares were 10' not the standard 5', damn you 3.5 to Pathfinder! Let's not retcon any movement errors and leave things as is. Moving forward, 10' squares (at least on this map!

The map changed a bit there...remember not to change area effects once they are laid down, let me do that :-). Viorr would have had to make a 50/50 miss chance as the smoke does not roll out until Frank's next action, mid-round. Let me know if that changes Viorr or EE's actions this round!
