1) One permanent Hero Point may be used to avoid a final death scenario allowing a narrow cinematic escape,
2) One temporary Hero Point may be used if you are between -1 and -9 hit points to stabilize yourself to prevent further blood loss,
3) Temporary Hero Points may be expended to power Feats. These grant a lasting bonus for a one scene or one round duration depending on the feat description,
4) One temporary Hero Point grants a character a chance to supplement their d20 roll by 1d6 and add the result (whatever it was - no re-roll) to the d20 result,
5) No more than one Hero Point may be expended per round.

Are any of the wolves puppies or runts? If this goes well, Dev could always use a pal around the shop on the off-chance one wants to come live in the city for a while!

Actually there's this feat amateur investigator which enables you to take studied strike and the follow up.
For people with high INT that's a nice buff feat.
1d6 on some skills or move action to get +2 and later +4 vs 1 target.
Sadly Kana isn't that clever and already feat starved.

You are down to melee or ranged combat options now.
Yup. I might toss a spear or two but I'll be spending alternate turns regaining focus and surge blasting (RTA for 2d6, maybe some modifications if wild surging and using Modified Blast, but failures will cost me HP so this is pretty risky) but my large contributions are done. Unless of course this battle takes 10 minutes, in which case I can manifest another power!

At least EE and I would be safe from that! Technically we can live on the brink of death at 0 or lower hit points almost forever as long as we do not actually die.

Shadow, I took a five foot step away from the guy and have reach and a battle axe. If he closed with me I didn't see a post. If he drew a weapon I could have aoo'd him and still moved. Did I simply miss where that guy followed me?
Looks like a rout now! This is probably the last round assuming the tactics employed remain the same.
Tactically Pink-Eye, channeling is probably going to do more harm than good now as Sharon appears to be on her last legs! Not that she is a PC anymore...
Leveling will take place immediately after this battle.
Folks RL will be hectic for the next several days, I will move us forward next Monday. Sorry for the delay especially as the combat is getting close to a finish.

Do what you need to do Sir! I'm just glad things are going well. It was technically my plan after all...even if I was not much help directly other than as a hard target for the skeletons.
=)
Sorry once again folks, had a contractor bail on me and now I have to do a lot of work at the new place myself. I will try and post on the 5th of July.

Ah, could be... since I detected subzero sense of humour in his toone, I thought maybe I got confused (which I totally was, but in a different way apparently).

Please excuse this moment but I will be losing a family member today and will be out for three days of mourning returning on Mon or Tues. Please bot me as necessary.
Everyone should add 3 Hero Points to your PC as well this level :-)
Yes, escape from the Mournland is the next thing on the agenda. You do have a direction to head in and a pack of dire wolves to assist so it should not be too impossible to accomplish...
But I may have one more surprise for the group before you get out :-)
Frank trades Mage Armor for Unfetter and gets Invisibility, he also puts 5 of his 7 ranks this level into various knowledge skills so he can qualify for and grab Dilettante, making him better able to use aid-another on knowledge checks xD
B, on the other hand, has a much nicer levelup:
Her str/dex boost increases from +1 to +2, giving her nice things across the board. Her natural armor increases from 4 to 6. She loses the Climb evolution but gains the Flight evolution. Her intelligence increments as well, changing her -2 intmod to -1, granting her enough new ranks to max out the fly skill which she can now train thanks to her new wings.
