My House Rules for Hero Points:

Hero Point Mechanics:

1) One permanent Hero Point may be used to avoid a final death scenario allowing a narrow cinematic escape,

2) One temporary Hero Point may be used if you are between -1 and -9 hit points to stabilize yourself to prevent further blood loss,

3) Temporary Hero Points may be expended to power Feats. These grant a lasting bonus for a one scene or one round duration depending on the feat description,

4) One temporary Hero Point grants a character a chance to supplement their d20 roll by 1d6 and add the result (whatever it was - no re-roll) to the d20 result,

Progression system:
Level 1-10 1d6,
Level 11-20 2d6,
Level 21-?? 3d6. and

5) No more than one Hero Point may be expended per round.

Let's see, +3 cc, +4 stat, +2 MW tools gives +9 without spending too many resources on a single skill
Yeah, level+8~10 is reasonable for a specialist. Very good, even.

Broulnindre only has +13 without the evolution point, and +10 (level + 7) without spending a feat on Skill Focus xD

How likely are EE and Kana to be injured at any given time?
Traps are dangerous enough for a healthy character...

It'd be very nice to have a second chance at identifying magic items that doesn't involve paying a wizard somewhere, or having a second chance to identify a dangerous spell of the >FRA casting time variety xD

@EE: did you want the Warforged Repair Kit as well? I don't know much about Warforged, but it seems like we should keep that kit if we don't have one yet.

I already have one of those. It's more or less a Healing Kit for Warforged, and it uses the Craft Skill (or others which make sense) instead of Heal.

On Identifying, I was planning on getting the feat to cast some Sphere Magic to take Divination, but that can take ages. On the other hand, casting Detect Magic is enough to be able to roll an identifying check, and I could have that by next level IF Shadow allows me to change one of my talents AND pick an Legendary talent next level, Magehunter's Vision, which basically allows to roll Spellcraft as if casting Detect Magic (I don't know your policies on Legendary Talents and honestly, some of them seem quite legendary while others are quite meh).

Since EE is planned as a detective, knowledge and perception focused guy, it wouldn't hurt his concept at all, honestly.

I know that Frank E identified some of the items, as we are about to go into sell mode I'll reveal the details in my next post. Just wanted to put together a game plan for how to proceed next. I MAY bring in a few PCs from a now dead Eberron game which will change the course a bit of what I had planned next just an FYI. I know tat is a bog group but that is ok, attrition over time whittles down numbers so I am not worried.

I think if everyone sticks around, then we would have 8 players + GM (GM is a player, right? so 9 players?)
Some of us post more often than others, though, and that makes me a mixture of sad and curious about the effective size of that number...

I've always thought that, in Pathfinder, Identify only offered a +10 to the identifying roll, but nothing beyond the capabilities of Detect Magic.

Specifically, on the paragraph where it explains what happens on the 3rd round of study, the last phrase states:

"If the aura emanates from a magic item, you can attempt to identify its properties (see Spellcraft)."

In any case, if we're using a special rule or something, that's fine. I can't cast spells anyway, though I might have a plan for the future, in case you allow Legendary Talents, to be able to grasp some magic auras from objects. Fits an Investigator so well.

Oof, forgot about selling the mundane things.
@Storyteller Shadow: the chest we found was a "Small" Chest (worth 2gp, sellable for 1gp) and the darkweave clothing was a Burglar's Outfit (worth 100gp (darkweave)+ 5gp (base) = 105gp, sells for 52.5gp), right?
(Sorry, I kind of have to ask; my inner pedant wont leave me alone about that (probably) 35 sp of loot... or maybe I have an inner accountant?)

@Everyone: If those two assumptions of mine were correct, then (not counting the gems, the formula book, the quests, or the magic goodies) we get 1323.5gp to split (8 ways?)
(FYI, that includes the 30/15gp worth of mundane stuff Frank and EE are taking as part of their shares)

Also, IDK if ya'll want to sell the gems to the gnome, but Frank will want to keep as much of the high value/low weight stuff as possible :3
(via taking the moonstone as part of his share of loot, if necessary)

BTW, how should we value the formula book that Sharon will almost certainly keep? Something around 100gp that makes the loot come out to a nice round number?

From Shadow: We need to split up the treasure Backpack from our previous game and level up to 3rd.

I mainly just want the Magical Backpack (Handy Haversack) as part of my treasure. The rest we can split fairly I think, with my share including the pack itself.

Don't think I've met Meridian, but Dev briefly encountered Gauntlet and Pink-Eye when delivering the schema to Lady D'Vown a while back. From what I recall, we briefly scuffled over contact terms but everything ended friendly enough (read: nonviolent). Looking forward to the condensing of groups!
