1) One permanent Hero Point may be used to avoid a final death scenario allowing a narrow cinematic escape,
2) One temporary Hero Point may be used if you are between -1 and -9 hit points to stabilize yourself to prevent further blood loss,
3) Temporary Hero Points may be expended to power Feats. These grant a lasting bonus for a one scene or one round duration depending on the feat description,
4) One temporary Hero Point grants a character a chance to supplement their d20 roll by 1d6 and add the result (whatever it was - no re-roll) to the d20 result,
5) No more than one Hero Point may be expended per round.

Let me know what you want to do I/C, I think that Jiri's hint is pretty much the only practical path to follow but a DM should never assume what the PCs want to do!

With all new people coming in to the game, I just wanted to say I have no problem adjusting the PC to fit the party. If there is, e.g., someone who wants to take the trap dealer, I could look for a class without it, or if someone wants to take another frontline role and we think there'll be too many.
Honestly, I've always been a bit "obsessed" by party balance and all that shyte. I don't like it when someone is stripped of his niche and 5 minutes of glory because all roles overlap.

LOL. OK, I'll allow a change if you feel the need to :-)

Err, I may do the same if it's available, as I ALSO have trapfinding (via trait). I think something to do with filling a role gap at the table Dev was originally recruited for before the table shakeup. Probably don't need 3 of us with it though. Or if we don't get a rogue-ish applicant, I can keep it. As a jeweler, Dev being good with little devices makes a lot of sense, after all.

Which 3pp rules would be allowed? I know you're usually quite permissive on those, and I'm trying to find a way to tweak EE around whatever new players come in, but stripping him of magic, which I don't envision him as wielding (I know, not wanting magic in Pâthfinder, what kinid of crazy man am I?). Maybe the SoM archetype for Investigator (which wouldn't require a dip in Fighter anymore), or an archetype that gives something juicy in return. Still looking and, as said before, will depend on who's around.

edit: any plans on how to introduce everyone? I can be very creative with a little context xD
(obviously Frank and Broulnindre could be treasure hunting in the area, and now that I think about it, it'd be easy for them to recruit friends for the trip...)

BTW, is there anyone who would be upset if Broulnindre was... taciturn? I don't want to be that guy who RPs both sides of one too many conversations xD
I'll be off to a local Con Saturday and half of Sunday. Please bot me as needed.
speaking of the gameplay thread, if we're going to be introduced out of combat, Broulnindre will probably be out, but otherwise Frank would probably have unsummoned her as a SA and started summoning things with SM II xD
I am about to update the thread for the existing group then will post for the new group. New group will be in the city proper, not participating in the existing dungeon delve.

Indeed, slow but consistent is right. Got several games like that by now, there might be weeks with only 1-2 posting rounds, but the games can go over years and develop deeply.

"Only" have a wand, but always could take the spell if it turns out a good invest.
By the way, surely you know that, but when you post in the gameplay thread, what you can do and then delete the post, the campaign shows up under "my profile" and the campaigns tab.
