Just blurbing that GM Rutseg is recruiting for a tier 3-7 adventure here.

Hi, everyone!

A new session of GM School will be starting on Monday, January 6. I'll be posting more details as well as sign-ups in the next few days. There will be a sign-up sheet for students, and an application for those interested in being mentors.

Is this specific to being PFS GMs, to run games how PFS wants them run, or a more general GMing training?

This is GM school being run by PFS Venture Officers from a PFS lodge, so yes, it will be teaching PFS GMing. In particular, we will be learning how to run pre-written adventures, not how to write your own.

I am currently recruiting for two PF1 scenarios, to start up in the next few days. The recruitment links are below:

1-35 Voice in the Void

3-06 Song of the Sea Witch

This is GM choice recruitment, with recruitment to close after there are 8 applicants, or in 48 hours, whichever comes first.

Silver Crusade

It is so tempted to spend replay points for either of those - two of my favourites.

Spruiking GM Chrios' recruitment for # 2-24: Shadow's Last Stand, Part 2: Web of Corruption here (they're looking to play high subtier, so characters in the 5-7 range).

You can join my gnome whose motto is: "See a button, push it! See a lever, pull it!" Surely nothing can go wrong . . .

thanks Jhaeman!

Hi, everyone, here is the official announcement for GM school. I hope to see many of you there!

At the request of someone who wants to play these adventures, a recruitment thread can be found here for levels 15 and 16 of the Emerald Spire. Characters need to be levels 10-12 at the start. Details can be found in the recruitment thread.

Grand Lodge

Still looking to continue from level 7 of the spire, if any group is around that point.

Grand Lodge

Zenae is waiting for someone to start an expedition into Level 10 if the Spire.

By coincidence, I have an opening in a Core Emerald Spire game, HERE. We just finished Level 4, and the party (druid & wolf, sorcerer, bard, fighter/rogue; all L4) could use a Core cleric in the L3-L5 range. Post here if you're interested.

How long does it take to complete a level? Is it about the same length as a standard PFS scenario?

^These levels play quickly and can typically be finished in a typical 4 hour gaming slot while played live. In fact Emerald Spire is often looked as a mechanism for speed levelling. :)

I would highly recommend it to anyone that enjoys a good dungeon romp.

I'm also missing the last two levels of Thornkeep if anyone wants to help me check those off my playlist.

In PbP it generally takes longer than a typical scenario, but each level is also worth a base 3 xp/4 Prestige. (And it's definitely faster than the sanctioned content of a typical AP part.) With a total of 16 levels, the recommendation is to take some of them Slow, to avoid leveling out of tier.

Grand Lodge

Good to know they go kinda fast. If one comes up that I have a PC in tier for, I'll try to join.

My Core Cleric is 7th.

Silver Crusade

If we're requesting, I've been playing the 'Devil You Know' series in Core and we're up to part 3. But I've not played them in Standard mode. Any takers please?

Also, if you have a racial boon - say Lashunta. Can that be applied to Core?

Lantern Lodge

My understanding is no to the racial boons for Core. I think there is one particular exception where the racial boon comes on a regular scenario chronicle (for... reasons).

I believe the reasoning about race boons in core is that you can only use there boons that would be lost otherwise. Normal race boons can be applied to any new character, so you just are expected to make another standard character. There are a very tiny number of race boons that have to be applied to/used by a specific character, and if that character is core, you are allowed to use the boon in core.

If you have a more specific question, feel free to send me or one of the other PbP VOs a PM to ask about it. For further discussion, please move to the discussion thread.

Got a freshly revamped level 01 Arachne (Spider Were-Touched Shifter) character to play! Anyone interested in helping out?

I would like to play Master of Fallen fortress with my lvl 1 Unchained summoner.

Considering on helping you out (as well as Mustaparta above). I'm going on vacation this weekend and will give it some thought. I have a level 2 PC that already did Master of the Fallen Fortress & The Confirmation. I'll look into GMing another one of the replayables or maybe one of the quest series.

Maybe Wounded Wisp or The Consortium Contract?

I've got a lvl 2 I want to lvl up, if you need players.

Not sure about her dog though. I heard the rules changed to disallow buying guard dogs, but it was legal at the time and I haven't verified if tgey are actually illegal now. Kinda relying on the dog to carry stuff. Not sure what to do with it if it isn't allowed anymore.

Silver Crusade

I have a character who is 2nd level and was partway playing The Commencement by spending a replay but the game ended up fizzling out. So I'd be interested as well.

Thank you.

I also have some lv1 and lv2 characters that needs leveling.

A PC can only purchase an animal, mount, or similar creature if its Challenge Rating is lower than that character's level; creatures with a Challenge Rating of 1 or lower are exempt from this restriction, as are horses.

I think guard dog are still legal to purchase, even at lv1.

Got a level 1 warpriest who could tag along...

I need to check but aonprd lists them with the little red symbol that supposedly means not pfs legal.

Red symbol means there's PFS limitation in place for this item from Additional Resource. In this case the limitation is from the Challenge Rating limit.

A small dog has CR 1/3, a medium riding dog has CR 1.

Quote:

Hover (or mouseover or tooltip) text of the red symbol on dogs:

This text can be found in the additional ressources. Therefore, you should be fine. :-)

There's also the restriction to a single combat pet per scenario, plus the necessity of handle animal checks.

Can the PC earn additional XPs if he defeats his own pet in single combat though? :P

Silver Crusade

Late to the game it seems but I have a L1 Barbarian who would hit L2 with one more adventure.

@Redelia I've trying to DM you. What PC were you thinking for Emerald Spire?

I think the problem is in your account. I can't PM you, but others can PM me. Let me know in the discussion thread of this campaign if you can't find the setting to turn PMs back on.

Liberty's Edge

I'm running JUST 2 levels of Emerald Spire #07 Shrine of the Awakener 5-7 and #08 The Circle of Vissk-Thar. 6-8 One spot saved for Redlia. here

Non-CORE

Dark Archive

Since people are talking about Thornkeep, this character has been in limbo since she finished "The Drowned Level", and would love to resume with the next level after that.

Okay! Good new, everyone interested in a 1-2 tier session! Now that I have the time, and a better understanding of GM credits, would anyone be interested in a hosted game of “The Confirmation”? I’ll be hosting it with up to 6 players. I never fully got to experience this event before, and would love to try it out, at least by GM’ing it! Yes, I already have the scenario.

Sounds good!
I am still down for it (with the same character) and I can imagine some of the others from the last attempt (phaeton_nz, Colin_Mercer, Pete H. and PDK) might be interested, too.
Maybe send them a pm and reserve them a seat for 2-3 days?

Sounds great! I’ll get straight to it, then!

I would love a confirmation game! I was recently gifted a grippli boon, and would love to try out my small monk!

Grand Lodge

if you need another for the confirmation drop me a pm...i have a boon or two i can finally use on a new toon...

I've never played the Confirmation before to be honest. I don't have any level 1 characters however...

Well, it's never too late to start one! Just got a new player to make a -1 last month.

Thanks for the thought, but I will let someone else play. Have fun storming the castle!
