My sole exposure to Chem class almost resulted in the lab being blown up.. who would have thought that introducing a flame to an experiment that produces hydrogen would set off a chain reaction across the entire wall of lab stations and end with the sprinkler system being engaged???? *innocent look*

Yeah, you just stay away from where I work. Although they aren't supposed to have the big molten sodium loop loaded for several months, we still have ten or twelve 55-gallon drums of high-purity sodium on hand already.

A heat exchange system? Now I'm curious where you work. I believe they do that for some aquariums, but of course power plant is the obvious gues.

Tangaroa |

I do not recall the particulars of the system. I heard about it on a tour of the the Aquarium of the Pacific, but it was a number of years ago and my memory may be fuzzy on the topic. Perhaps they used a different heat transfer fluid, but it wasn't water. In general, there is usually a water/salt heat exchanger in these sorts of systems.

I work at Argonne National Lab, and one of the researchers here has gotten some money to put together a big test loop for components for use in sodium-cooled fast reactors. Reactors like that won't be built in the US, but IIRC France has one, and South Korea is looking to build one.

A dark haired Clelaxian walks into the lodge.
"I heard talk there was work for an alchemist in here? Been traveling up in the cold north, so i hope this work involves someplace with more temperate climes."

![]() |

"Ok, Pathfinders!" the halfling Venture-Captain calls out to get everyone's attention. "Listen closely! I've been handed a pair of fresh new assignments from the Ten and of course they have asked our Lodge to supply the best agents available."
"First off, rumors of an ancient settlement and its priceless treasure locked beneath Irrisen’s perpetual ice have reached the Society’s ears. If you are chosen you'll set out to the Land of the Linnorm Kings with a precious cargo of trade goods to buy your way into the witch-ruled nation, but even approaching Irrisen is fraught with danger. Good luck to any who head off north and remember to pack extra furs!"
I'll be running 06–18 From Under Ice for levels 1-5 when it is released this Wednesday. Sign up on my spreadsheet. Low level scenarios always have more than six sign ups so I will roll for winners Wednesday morning. This scenario has content particularly relevant to members of the Grand Lodge and Scarab Sages factions.
"Great! On to the second mission! The Iroran monastery of Tar Kuata nestled in Osirion’s Barrier Wall Mountains is famous both for its extensive history and its curious order of dwarven monks known as the Ouat. the Society has recently uncovered a dusty field report that identifies Tar Kuata as the home of a strange, otherworldly relic, and I need some Pathfinders to set off to recover it. However, the Ouat are strict judges of perfection, and you must prove your worth to them if you are to win the monks’ trust and treasure. Good luck!"
I'll be running 06-19 Test of Tar Kuata for levels 3-7 when it is released this Wednesday. Sign up on my spreadsheet. If there are more than six sign ups I will roll for winners Wednesday morning. This scenario has content particularly relevant to members of the Scarab Sages faction.

Would someone please put me on the register for both games? I'm on my iPad, so I can't sign onto google docs. Much obliged!
Done!

The tengu that was sitting at the one corner table looks up as Trotter enters the room and closes his Tien-labled tome quietly, listening intently and nodding to the Venture Captain, letting the rubric of the Master stand up a bit as he ruffles the feathers of his left hand. It is clear that he is attempting to curb his enthusiasm for volunteering for the mission to the Iroran monastery.
Oh HECK YEAH I'm signed up for that one!

![]() |

Seeing the Tengu across from him rise, Dalligar simply waves. "Good luck my fine feathered friend! I'll save a drink for you!"
I'd sign up too, but it looks more than very full. Good luck teams!"
"We shall see if the Master wants this humble student to learn from others that follow His Ways, or if he wants me to discover other things from the world soon enough. Thank you for the encouragement, but we shall see what the Society thinks of my qualifications. Or, in other words, I may be back sooner than later?"

Poog the Moog |

Through the door bursts a small, jumpy goblin. He scurries forward to the job board, spits on the back of a notice and sticks it to the board. He looks around at everyone gathered in the hall, sticks out his tongue and gives everyone the raspberries, "THPTHPTHP!" He then quickly rushes out the door.
Not sure how to spell that out.
"Pathfinders! The Society has discovered a powerful relic in the Verduran Forest that may be tied to local werewolf activity. Calling all available Pathfinders for help!"
#3-05: Tide of Twilight. Tier 1-5. Please SIGN UP HERE. I plan on starting the night (US Pacific Time) of Monday, May 4th. Please sign up by Saturday, May 2nd. If more than 6 are signed up, I will roll for who makes it. Thank you.

"Perhaps it's time to head back out to the field." Dalligar stands, moving to the notice board, signing his name.
"We shall see what happens then, shall we?"
Been meaning to get this guy back into the field. I started this adventure with another character but he was killed. I've yet to make another Sorcerer since.

![]() |

The chestnut-haired dwarf wipes foam from his lips and stands up. "I'M AN AVAILABLE PATHFINDER!" He flips the pistol at his side out of its holster and cackles gleefully as he follows the goblin out the door...
Would like to get Grax here in a game again. I see there's already several signed up, but figured since you left so many open spaces I'd throw my name in in case it's a lottery or something. :)

Once again I'll leave the signup lists on my spreadsheet for about a week in case any other GMs want to pick up the other players who didn't make it in. If you do run one of these games, please consider me as well; I'd like to play them too!

After a few moments the upscale Andoran garb'd tengu returns and takes a seat. He's very somber and sober as he pulls out the Tien labeled tome once more and begins to peruse it.
"It would appear that the Master of Masters has other plans for me. I hope that those who are heading out gain great wisdom from their journey." The words are tinged with a slight bit of disappointment, but also carried with a bit of optimistic encouragement.

@Chris Kelley: Since you got into both games but signed up for the same character in both, I will leave it up to you whether you would like to give your spot in one of the games to someone else. I will roll for a replacement once I hear back.

A chorus of good natured calls and laughter echoes down the street. The noise stops at the door and with a flourish it swings open.
A short, well armoured halfling strides in. Wearing strange hexagonal armour with a vermilion cloak swept across his shoulder, a large (for him) axe, a smiling face and piercing eyes.
well met everyone. I hear this is place to gather for those seeking riches and glory . Well I be one such waiting for destiny to raise me up. In the meantime i would welcome the chance to share drinks, steel and riches with every man, woman and thing of you! Where do I sign up and when do we get started?
He saunters over to the notice board, eyes it up. Hmm, there's some stiff competition around here - good a challenge. Let's hope that I make the pick.

![]() |

"Bylaw seven two three point six five of the Home Office Procedures manual indicates that it IS permissible for an associate to take someone entering an establishment offering drinks up on their offer, provided an appropriate compensation is offered for the drink they get."
The sharp-dressed tengu in Andoran finery glances over at Wilm as he closes his Tome.
"So what are you buying, sir?" The tone does seem to have a bit of mirth behind it.

![]() |

Only the best of spirits I hope. the old human stands up to meet the halfling.
Walking over and in a near whisper. It seems the spirits favor you. You have a good fate.

![]() |

What-ho fellow traveller! Looks like you are a barrel of laughs. As it happens, my statement was more of the nature of an inquiry - i will share drinks with you. meaning that it'd be you, or one such as yourself that does the buying! A common misunderstanding, one that seems to crop up quite often when i'm around. I'm sure you'll be able to correct it...

I have a question regarding chronicle sheets.
I received my first ever chronicle sheet today, and I'm filling out the items and gp section. Under items bought, is this where I spend my gold and prestige I was awarded from the scenario, or do I spend those at the beginning of the next scenario, and document them on that scenario's sheet?

Shifty |

Do it on the current sheet so you are complete and ready to go for the NEXT scenario. An awful lot of adventures begin 'So you are on a boat a bajillion miles from anywhere...' so never leave it in the hands of the judges as to whether you have the item or not :)
One of the Inventory tracking sheets may be of use to you, as a free download, but I also have more comprehensive sheets for all my characters kept as excel spreadsheets.
I'm a bit particular like that.

![]() |

Ok, thanks. I didn't know if there was a certain way to do it or not. :)
EDIT:
Next question-- In the scenario chronicle # box in the very top right, is that the number of the specific game/module/scenario, or is it simply the number of games the character has completed, which is this case, would be "1"?

![]() |

Ninja'd before my edit, haha. Reposting my next question so it gets seen.

Simply put, it is the number of games that character has been in. If this is your first chronicle for this character, then it is Chronicle 1. The numeric sequence is specific to that character. Each character that you play should have a 1, 2, 3, etc. It is just an easy way of keeping track of the sheets and in what order they should be in.

The dice have spoken. I apologize to those that didn't make it.
The strange goblin returns and sticks a note to the job board with a small dagger. The note is simply a list of Pathfinders' names to report for duty.
"Will the following Pathinders please report."
This is for 3-05: Tide of Twilight, by the way.

![]() |

well folks, looks like my name is up on that list. We'll have to let the drinks and tales pass this time.
Looking at wadreskus, a shame not to swap tales with you my friend. I like your vibe. Maybe some other time!

@GM EW: Do you know yet when we can expect "You Only Die Twice" to start?

![]() |

A skinny kid skulks in and gives the joint a (very intentionally) disinterested look before meandering to the mission-posting boards. He stands looking up at it for a few seconds, rain water pooling at his oversized boots, then he makes his way to a table.
As he begins drawing random designs with his own rain runoff on the table-top, a fiery-orange cat climbs out of his voluminous overcoat ... stopping to watch the (very) young man's scrawling with its fierce green eyes.
Honestly, the kid's likely lost. Either that, or they've way lowered the age requirements to be a Pathfinder.
We have any DM's up for a Confirmation run? I have a smart-ass teenage sorcerer who's itching to pick up a bit more Society experience. :)

DM Carbide |

Core or Standard? I'm coming up on the end of running a PFS scenario and might be able to manage a Confirmation run in a week or two.

![]() |

I might be interested in that as well, then (assuming I haven't played if before - what Season's it from?).
