Hi folks, just delivering a message from the PFS Discord!
Many (but not all) people are experiencing trouble with the Paizo site, meaning they are unable to post in their PbP games. If you haven't heard from a usually consistent player in a while, reach out to them via non-forum avenues if possible; they might just be having technical difficulties with the website.

Given our site issues... I am wondering if GMs want to set up google hangouts for their Cosmic Captive tables so that the party can still communicate with one another when the site (inevitably) goes down.

Paizo's site has been misbehaving far more than I would like.

Site seems to be working fine by 4g on phone, but can't access via modem. Sigh.

I was one of the ones having trouble from Discord. It is working now as of now. I'm just imagining having these problems during the special now, especially if it were to happen on a weekend, and the fact that it seems not everyone knows that a lot of people are having problems. :(

I can't access paizo from my desktop at home, but I can access it from my computer at work and from my phone. May want to set up some notification system for Cosmic Captive so we don't get way out of sync due to a partial outage.

I couldn't get in from my laptop at home, so on a whim tried my tablet thru a VPN using a Singapore IP address. So here I am, posting this while watching my laptop continue to fail to access the same site. And I live in Seattle! So it works if the electrons go thru Singapore, but not if they travel locally!!??

Just had another short outage, so might not be the last... just as a warning.

I am not overly familiar with Hangouts, but I know you would have to get everyone's screen name or Google email and send them invites. Once you have everyone linked or "friended" I imagine setting a group chat would be as simple as selecting those you want the text to go to.

When I've checked using downforeveryoneorjustme.com, it always agrees with me on whether or not paizo.com is accessible. But secure.paizo.com and www.paizo.com are always up.

The end result is that I can always see the thread list, but just can't get into any threads to read or post to them 90% of the time. I also couldn't buy anything, so I ended up borrowing a PFS scenario from a friend instead of buying it over the weekend. It's the same from both my home and work computers.

I'm glad I'm not involved with the special. I just put a game I'm GMing on hold, because I'm fed up with these forums. I'll resume it if the forums stabilize in the next couple of days.

There is an option in Hangouts (or G-Mail Chat) to start a group and invite folks into it.

I am thinking that I am going to set one up for the Cosmic Captive GMs for backup emergency notifications or quick questions only. I already have one for my two ACG tables, which has been great as their concerns have been different.

One more thing on my to-do list.

Not true. I live in Singapore and I have problems accessing the site. Pretty vexing if you need to know.

Not that I have problems with sharig the account name, but... And given the type of game we play here, this is a big but - You can't do dice on hangouts. Don't we have a discord for this? It is quite simple to set up a dice bot there.

This isn't for Gameplay, but more for an emergency chat channel so that everyone knows if you're currently blocked from posting.

Please forgive my ignorance if I have missed the answer to these questions, but there are thousands of posts, and while I certainly have the appropriate time to get into PbP, I admit I do not have the particular patience required to dig around for answers to these particular questions:

1.) Are PbP scenarios sanctioned for PFS? Do we receive chronicle sheets on completion, and do GMs report participation for our account? If so, I believe this helps answer my second question:

2.) Are society live characters and PbP characters interchangeable? For instance, would a live character I have started be eligible for PbP games, or PbP characters eligible for live games? My assumption is yes, assuming reporting and chronicle sheets are all square.

Thank you muchly! I admit I have not read the guide in some time, as I had practically given up on PFS due to a lack of availability on my part to attend events. Thank you for the note about being limited to one game! Shouldn't be a problem due to aforementioned schedule conflicts!

PbP PFS may be just what you’re looking for.

What are Organized Play's rules for Cavaliers/Samurai rededicating to a different Order? I'm pretty sure there's something you can do that's easier than retraining (since changing Order is discussed in the class description itself, but doesn't translate well to Organized Play's wibbley-wobbley time).

I just received Legacy of the First World, and am suddenly strongly considering switching from Order of the Tome to Order of the Blossom!

Before you do this, it is strongly recommended waiting until the Additional Resources updates (if it has not already) for the new material that is sanctioned for PFS play.

There is the possibility for any of a number of reasons that it is not available, and while returning to the Tome from the Blossom wouldn't cost anything, there's no guarantee that the original trip would be valid.

That being said, the book sounds like a must-pick-up so it's on the list.

I'd recommend starting a new thread on the PFS subforum to ask this. It'll stand out more, and people who know cavaliers better than I do will be more likely to notice and answer. Or maybe you'll get an answer from campaign management at Paizo, who never hang out here in the Flaxseed Lodge.

On the other hand, I don't have to deploy a whip and chair* to keep the wild snarks at bay at Flaxseed, because we all behave!

I find both discussion areas are useful. I do like how much Tonya, Linda, John and now Thursty participate in the main PFS forum, and it's a great place to track what is going on in PFS and ask questions.

Speaking of Tonya, she's joining us on the experimental ACG tables of Cosmic Captive, which I consider seriously awesome. It's really nice that all of our leadership has been interested in Online Play.

Hey guys! It's been about 2 years or so since I last played any Pathfinder, Society included of course, and I just want to make sure I have everything for my new character.

Inventory Tracking Sheet, Character Sheet, Faction Card, Chronicle from the last GM session I ran for the new guy. Am I forgetting something? I'm reading up the new rerolls section and checking out those and I guess these new Faction pins are pretty cool too. :O

1. Yes, I'm still around. I am just taking a break from GMing as I have moved back near my family to work on the family farm and for some crazy reason I moved back right before planting season so I've been working 50-60+ hours per week. I'll get back to GMing eventually though.

It isn't possible, unless you have a boon or chronicle sheet that specifically allows it.
