Vishkanya are allowed to purchase poisons as if their class had poison use.
To clarify, can they also brew poisons for 1/3-price using Craft (Alchemy)?

Middleman |
The PFS FAQ
How do poisons work in the Roleplaying Guild?
states pretty clearly which classes can craft poisons. I think anyone else is restricted to buying.

![]() |

Pretty sure only Alchemists, Investigators, and Poisoner Rogues are allowed to brew poisons. Ninja have Poison Use, but are not listed as able to craft poisons, so just having Poison Use isn't enough to craft them.
I could be wrong, actually wouldn't mind being wrong since I have a ninja who would like cheaper poisons, but everything I've seen says having Poison Use from any source, whether racial or class, allows you to buy them but only those three classes can make them.

I'd be interested in a game of First Steps if anyone offered; I've never actually played it before. Perhaps I'll run it, if it's available for free. I don't recall.

Wei Ji the Learner |

Ya know, I keep seeing these 'new player evergreen runs' - Confirmation and Wisp, but no one wants to run In Service to Lore (First steps pt1)?
I'm saddened they cut parts 2 & 3, but 1 is still a classic little gem from yesteryear :)
I've played it, I've prepped it to run at a local convention(but table did not fire), but I'm hesitant to run it if there is even a ghost of a chance (as was hinted at during one point last year) that two and three are (or are not) going to be re-introduced. There's enough 'quantum scenarios' I've got out there that this is a headache my poor aging brainmeats wants to take a pass on atm...

I'd join.

I figured it wasn't quite as good or current as Confirmation, but I'd still like to experience it.

![]() |

Having played and GMed both 1st Steps & The Confirmation multiple times...
I'd generally prefer to play or GM the Confirmation over 1st Steps.
---
Eek I looked at my records, I have play The Confirmation 16 times and GMed it 6...
I think I might have a problem guys...
Thats part of the reason I really don't like playing The Confirmation. It just feels like a chore at this point.

Rob has me beat. I'm only at 20 right now. (I do have 4 in progress via PbP here though.) Although I could run/play the adventure in my sleep, I have found it interesting as a kickoff point in PbP stuff now to get more of a feel for characters. The party interactions completely change the adventure even if the challenges are the same.

GM OfAnything |

I do find value in discovering how new characters approach their Confirmation, and what lessons they learn from it.

First Steps 1 is actually the adventure I've done the most - played it 4 times, GMed it 7. Other scenarios I've done 6 or 7 times include The Confirmation, Consortium Compact, and the now retired First Steps 3 (which was actually my first ever PFS game).
Can First Steps 1 be applied to a level 2 PC these days, or is it still just level 1s? Been a while since I've done it, so I lost track.
I've only GMed PBP once, but I suppose I could run a table of this if people are looking for it. I was thinking of running another PBP soon, anyway. I'll just need a few days to prep. Being new to GMing PBP, I still need extra time to figure out setting up maps, minis, etc.
If you're interested in joining, sign up in my recruitment thread. I'll do a lottery this evening (maybe 10 or 11 hours after this post), giving priority to those who posted here about it before I started recruiting.

I'm curious, has anyone else had all their aliases and PFS characters removed from the Flaxseed Lodge? I checked a few other profiles but couldn't see. Now it just shows my main forum name under the campaign. It's not a problem or anything, I just tend to notice such little occurrences.

I feel like the First Steps series needs a revamping to better reflect the current Factions in PFS. That's the reason I think I won't run it again unless we see some updates.
I just ignore the forced faction diatribes when running it, since they don't fit naturally into conversation. You can just as easily introduce the characters without worrying about the factions, and the rest of the adventures work just fine. I'd love to see 2 and 3 return under that paradigm.

Yup, same happened here. I think there was a recent request from someone to kinda clear house a bit, as far as all the aliases goes, but I could be mistaken.

That would make sense, it can make things a bit cluttered for not much, if any, benefit.

Hey all, I'm looking to get back into PbP PFS. I'm currently updating all my aliases to match up with my character and chronicle sheets and all that.
Is there a good way for me to track what scenarios I've already played? I have a marked-up paper printout, but it's outdated and not updated. I know I've seen some spreadsheet-style tracking of that sort of thing before. Could anyone please provide a Google Sheets template or something I could make a copy of so I can track my scenarios better?

Here is the tracker I use. I forget whom I shamelessly stole it from years ago but have updated it since.
I track my characters and what I'm scheduled to play on the first page and where all the chronicle sheets and such are on the second page with the 3rd page telling me what levels my characters are by faction.
Feel free to make a copy for your own use if desired, the second tab is probably what you're most interested in.

The PFStracker is the one I most recommend because it allows a GM to quickly see what tables a group may not have played already, and find common ground.
It's awesome if you have a group that you want to schedule for a reunion game, or to get a group together.
Hmm

Random Question of the Day: Am I liked here?
Yes, I'm profoundly neurotic.

Aye! Having played this game since the 1980s I'm with Paizo because they're a crew worth joining.
Meanwhile, since there seem to be some new members ALSO JOIN OUR STARFINDER LODGE

Possibly.. Do you like Moonshine?
Is it possible to not like moonshine?

![]() |

Yes you are. And we should talk about the next table I'm running for you :D

Yes you are. And we should talk about the next table I'm running for you :D
And what is there to be said about that table? I take it you are referring to one that is yet to be run?

Question for the VC, VLs, et al: Would you allow a character with the Eldritch Heritage feat to choose a Wildblooded variant Bloodline (the Sanguine variant on Undead, for example - one of my Dhampirs would really like that)? There doesn't appear to be any formal answer or consensus as to whether you can or not, but the "yes" camp appears to have a slightly stronger case.

It's answered in the Ultimate Magic FAQ
