@GM Hmm: I thought Outpost II started tomorrow! I'll have to make sure everything's in order! Also, your recruitment set up is absolutely amazing. Would you mind horribly if I were to steal sections of it? c:
Technically, it's March 11th in some parts of the world right now. Just not where I am. :).
It being an international campaign, I set the official start time at UTC Midnight. But feel free to start your campaign at any point in the next 24 hours or so. No rush.
Feel free to borrow whatever you like about my recruitment set up.
Hiyami, don't forget that if you run an AP in campaign mode (which you sort of need to do if you run the whole thing, because otherwise there are level gaps), the GM can make whatever rules they want. You could allow CRB plus one or two other books you're comforable with, if you want, or allow non-core races but require classes to be core.
Yes, I used Campaign mode as an excuse to include a 3pp race that I wrote into the allowed races. It's nice to actually see someone play a Xaursi. :)

You are braver than I!

I did one where the GM allowed me to use a third party product also. It was a racial archetype that just fit the character concept perfectly and was nicely balanced. I don't recall that he allowed any other 3PP options, but it was nice to be able to explore other non-Society possibilities and give back financially to the community of content producers.

You know what you will see at GenCon? Seeker Tier gaming!
John Compton talks about it here.
At the 40 minute mark he updates us on the final multi-table special, titled Siege of Gallowspire, and how you will be able to use multiple characters when participating.
At the hour mark, he mentions what I have been waiting for, 10-22 and 10-23, a two part Tier 12-18 called Passing The Torch. It involves the Decemvirate and finally dealing with Grandmaster Torch, one way or another.
Grandmaster Torch must live forever!!! He's my favorite NPC to portray. I use the Dr. Detroit persona for him.
No worries! He will return in PFS2.0 in The Wrath of Torch!

Question: if you Gm a session and apply the credit to a character, does that count as the 1 time a character can play that session?
Yes, but you can play the scenario with a different character.

numbat1 |

Yes. You can only have one chronicle of any scenario on a single character.
I believe for benefits that come from another character's chronicle sheet where a copy is placed on file, the character with the copy can still receive credit for that scenario by playing or as GM credit. I think that's the only exception.
So, a single scenario (or similar) can only be credited once per character.

GM Hmm |

Question: if you Gm a session and apply the credit to a character, does that count as the 1 time a character can play that session?
Not quite.
You can still play it on a different character. You can apply credit for each scenario once as a player and once as a GM.

![]() |

You can replay with the same character "for no credit" in order to make a table legal. Per the Guild Guide, pg. 8, under Rewards,
This is the only exception to not having two copies of the same Chronicle sheet assigned to one character.
I think that the term "assigned" would still allow you to "benefit" from a boon earned by another character, as my good friend numbat1 suggests.
A particular character can only earn the XP, prestige, fame, boons and gp of a chronicle once, no matter whether that's done as a player or as a GM.

Ok. You can play any session 1 time as a character and 1 time as a GM applying it to another character. So I GM'd session x and applied credit to Character 1. That counts as Gm credit towards playing the session, but I can still play it with Character 2 for regular player credit. Is that correct?

![]() |

@philipjcormier just to add something, in case you are intent on playing certain scenarios several times:
• if you GM enough SFS scenarios you earn Novas (1st @ 10 scenarios GMed) which:
They earn the ability to replay one scenario once (see Replaying Adventures on page 9) per nova earned.
• you can choose Second Seekers (Jadnura) as your faction, which gives you the following boon:
Jadnura was renowned for his meticulous nature in examining the reports of field agents. He instilled in his followers the same desire to understand past events.
Prerequisites: Second Seekers (Jadnura): Tier 1
Cost: 0 Fame
Benefit: You can use this boon once for every Reputation Tier
you possess with the Second Seekers (Jadnura) faction. Each time you use this boon, you can replay one scenario you’ve previously played as though that scenario had the repeatable scenario tag. This allows you to earn a Chronicle sheet and all associated rewards with the scenario, though you cannot select a scenario you’ve already played with this character.
All this is in your favorite SFS Guild Guide.
And, of course, these special choices only allow you to replay the scenario with a different character than the ones you played it with before, or gave GM credit to.

Shifty- Please tell me this is you? I know its probably not but this video is great and terrifying at the same time.
Australian paraglider lands and immediately gets punched in the face by a kangaroo! (Link)
Warning for language.

It is pretty comical. They are pretty scary when you are on a motorbike too. Had a big one, over 5 feet tall, crossing the road in front of my motorbike at 4:30 in the morning. It was in no rush and I had to swerve pretty hard to dodge it. Kangaroos are surprisingly solid.

'Straya mate. Roo's can get a bit shirty and when they do they aren't backwards in coming forward and giving you a few gentle punches to the jaw to express their feelings.
He's just lucky it wasn't a big Western Red.
Ouch! That kangaroo is nuts!

Well, the guy there was the one descending from the sky like the world's most gigantic, flying, hooded cobra.
YOU SCARED THE S@&~ OUT OF ME YOU BASTARD! {BEAT BEAT BEAT} HUMANS!! I SWEAR!

I just figured he was insulted by the guy calling him "Skippy."

GM Ultra Plus |

y'know, kangaroos are possible animal companions and suitable mounts for small-sized cavaliers.
Obviously, the race would be Gnome, but from where would you have the gnome cavalier be from?

You don't even have to buy saddle bags.
And Cheliax, of course. You haven't been oppressed until you've been oppressed by a gnome riding a kangaroo.
When they say "Hop to..."

The World's Most Interesting GM |

Wait wait wait, 'gnomes riding a kangaroos'? That just doesn't make any sense. I thought we were talking about the other way around.

I seemed to have lost my GM star. It's only one, but I want it back. This happen to anyone else?
About once every few months.

EbonFist |

I'm thinking of dipping my toe into the GM pool. I really like playing the Quest games and thought I might start with one of them.
There's one I've never seen before called "Ambush in Absalom" and I'm wondering why I've never seen anyone offer it. Is it not PFS legal? Is it not conducive to PbP? Is it just bad?

EbonFist |

It's not even that good of a boon.
Ok, changing tacks - does anyone know where there is a list of all the Hao Jin Tapestry scenarios? It seems like that story is coming to a head in the latest season and it would be interesting to run them all.

EbonFist |

Thanks. I did a search on the forums here but got back a few hundred results that were from 2013 when I sorted by relevance and directed me to actual games when I sorted by date.

SO! I just stumbled upon the Bridle of Tricks, which specifically states that "creatures with unusual anatomies may be affected with GM discretion". My question to HMM and the other local brass, then, is:
What about a giant slug?

![]() |

Wayangs would be riding giant geckos or small crocs.
Surely you mean, "Komodo dragons"?!?
Leopards/panthers would work very well, too.

Note that the item uses the head slot so an animal companion can only use it if a) its body type includes a head slot (per the PFS faq that lists detailed slots for the various creatures) and b) the animal companion takes the Extra Item Slot (Head) feat.

Bloop?
can be placed on any animal or magical beast

Supervillan is correct about the PFS FAQ, but let's be even more helpful here.
When I was just starting out with my first PFS character, Flutter (aka Big Norse Wolf) introduced me to his wonderful forum thread: Druid's Log: Animal Companions (which later got summed up in the Druid's Log Compilation Document.) Both are great at explaining the wide range of rules in PFS that pertain to animal companions.
Giant slugs follow the Serpentine body type, which means they get no inherent slots for magic items, but can eventually take belt, eyes and headband. This means sadly no magic bridles for giant slugs unless you're in campaign mode.
I wish it were otherwise. In my opinion, the PFS magic item slot system made mechanically stronger animal companions even stronger, while denying lots of options to flavorful and less powerful animal companions. Here's hoping that you can find a campaign mode game to play your delightful giant slug -- with magic bridle.
Hmm

In hindsight, it's alright - I remembered after I posted that that it won't matter much after I raise its INT to 3 (or higher!).

A missile of magical energy darts forth from your fingertip and strikes its target, dealing 1d4+1 points of force damage.
The missile strikes unerringly, even if the target is in melee combat, so long as it has less than total cover or total concealment. Specific parts of a creature can't be singled out. Objects are not damaged by the spell.
For every two caster levels beyond 1st, you gain an additional missile—two at 3rd level, three at 5th, four at 7th, and the maximum of five missiles at 9th level or higher. If you shoot multiple missiles, you can have them strike a single creature or several creatures. A single missile can strike only one creature. You must designate targets before you check for spell resistance or roll damage.
Yes. Any increase to your caster level also (potentially) increases the number of missiles your magic missile can shoot.

QUESTION: If an Occultist has multiple Implements of a single school (like my Necroccultist), must he invest his Focus in a single one of those implements to get the full cumulative Resonant Power effect, or can it be spread out?
