I think I'm squared away now. Took a trial-by-fire course in BIOS flashing, but got it back up. At work currently, but will be trying to play catchup asap (across all games).

Computer woes continue. Finally nailed down what is causing the problem, though: liquid cooling system has apparently given out. My CPU is not well pleased (nor am I).
Ordered a replacement, which I'm hoping will be here and subsequently installed by Tuesday. In the mean time, my presence will be less than stellar. Basically, it will only be when I can sneak in updates while at work for the next couple of days.

Hey guys, I'm alive! Superstar has sucked a lot of life out of me, however, though since I didn't win I won't be saddled with additional work that'll keep me away from my games. I'm going to take the rest of this week to decompress after everything that's gone on, and I'll be back to my normal efficacy on Monday. Sorry for how things have ground to a halt these last couple months, but that's past now!

Welcome back regardless of the outcome. Monday's good, should have my new monitor by then. also found some fun new stuff to think about for future character development. Somebody showed me the artisan class, and it has me looking between that and the forgemaster and going 'hmmmmmm....'

Hey guys,
So the last week has helped me get my footing after the chaos that was RPG Superstar. The last two months have had a lot of change come with them, some of which have impacted my ability to GM even outside of the fustercluck that RPGSS was. Most notably, I no longer have access to Paizo's forums while I am at the office, thanks to updated content filters. This was where I did the bulk of my GMing work for PbPs, since I don't have a lot of spare time at home.
I was working on some ideas on how best to budget out my time over the last couple of weeks, knowing that once RPGSS was over I'd have to make some sacrifices. Unfortunately, it looks like I'm going to have to put some of my games on hiatus because of the narrower window of time where I'm free. I was hoping that I could juggle what I have going now, but it's looking more and more like I'm not going to be able to. GMing the three PbPs I have going (two of which aren't based on a published AP) is just too much for me.
I'm going to have to put both this campaign and my Mysterium Compact campaign on indefinite hold until I have more time, and I'll be honest I don't know if that's going to happen or when. I'm keeping Reign of Winter going since it is the most senior of my PbPs and is based on a published source, so there's a lot less developmental work I need to do for it.
If, at some point, I'm able to pull things back together and get Quest for Arcadia back up and running I will. But that may be a long ways out, and I know some of you will move on to other things in the interim. This isn't the outcome I was hoping for when I tried to figure out a balance to my commitments, but it's the only one that leaves me sane(ish) and living at the end.

Sad to see this'n go, but completely understand. I might have a germ of an idea of a compromise that could keep the spirit of this game in tact, if not the game itself. It'll hinge on a nod from Rob, of course. It's a thought I've had for a while, just not had much time to give it any serious consideration so far. I may PM you some details in the near future and see if it's something you'd be interested in. Failing that, I had initially slotted it for Iobaria (so, if you're not interested, don't feel bad about shooting it down; I had intended to extend an invitation to everyone involved in this campaign regardless).
In the briefest of nutshells: A PbP settlement/nation building community project from which smaller adventures can be launched by various GMs.

Aww, bummer man. Curse workplaces making their employees actually work! *ragefist*
All joking aside that's perfectly understandable Rob, I too will be sad to see this go, you're an awesome GM and I hope if you do manage to start something new in the future you'll let me know :) You still going to be playing in Crusty's Shattered Star game? If so will see you there! and maybe whatever Dwunder's up to.

That's what iPads and something like Evernote are for ;)
More seriously, I totally understand. On a much smaller scale, I more-or-less lived on the Rules forum until it got blocked at work, after which I cut back on it significantly, so I totally understand. It sucks, but it is what it is and forums don't pay the bills.

Sanity, life, and making a paycheck all come before gaming, so go do those things!
I expect to be here if/when you're back, no matter how long it takes, but I'll PM you my email address anyway. Even if I've stopped posting regularly, drop me a line and I might show back up.

Before you go, though, what effect would drawing The Teamster have on Rogath? I've been waiting months to find out!

Sad to see this one go, I was really enjoying the campaign and was excited to see the direction it will be going in. The voyage part of this campaign and the initial recruitment element was amazing. Of course I understand. Oddly enough, Paizo's website is one of the very few sites that my company does not block. Hopefully it will continue to stay that way.
If this ever starts up again I would definitely be interested in resuming the exile of my Pahmet dwarf.

Maven Brewbane |

Sanity is relative! Life is what you make of it! Paychecks...are...well...errrrggg...damn.
Ok fine, you win.
I don't see it as "going" or "dying" so much as "chilling out for a bit." Everyone here has put forth way too much effort into bringing these characters to life to just call it dead. I say sort it out however you need, Rob, and when it's time for the game's triumphant return, PM everybody (since an inactive game won't show new posts on the campaign tab.)
I, for one, will most certainly be waiting for it.
also: damn content filters. damn them all to the deepest circle of hell.

Rob,
I 100% understand your need to scale down and I wish you all of the best. If you choose to start the game up again, just PM me.
