Well, there's part of it. Rogath is turning out to be a much more jovial character than I originally envisioned. Maybe it's the "where no dwarf has gone before" thing. Isn't it weird how characters take on their own personality?

Kill the crab!
In regards to my gain influence roll, that's enough for two influence at the cost of 30gp. Spending two goods would there then be a 'floating' 10gp worth of goods left after paying for it, or do we have to trade the full value of goods? Would I be able to hold off on spending the actual goods until I earn another 2 influence? (4 influence=60gp=3 goods)
You can spend it in portions, I don't see why not given the circumstances. Just track individually that you took X number of units of goods and keep a note on your sheet the remaining GP value of what you've spent.

No, no domestication - its a vermin, and vermin can't really be domesticated. I'm going to have my post up shortly - I'm going to be recommending that we kill it, but leave enough of its young alive so that they can reproduce.
(Also, damn Elemental: Fallen Enchantress being such a fun game, distracting me and all. Gah!)

Dakún Rabbúhamash |

Rogath, I tried my best to answer you while at the same time not back tracking to earlier in the day. Made more sense to have everything remain in the present.
No objections on my part for moving the expedition forward. Dakún will be searching for any signs of civilization - past, present, and future.

An 17, 18, 19, and 20. I think my curse is finally broken.
To my traveling companions, I apologize if I monopolized things. Feel free to intercede or find something before Dakún, we can always have Robert edit it together in a fashion that shows more group collaboration. I just didn't want to let the rolls go to waste.

I've always imagined that the best RP'ed campaigns ought to be transcribed into a coherent flow for sharing with future generations. So far, this game definitely deserves a bit of that treatment, and we're just getting warmed up.
Once we get to the end of the first chapter I'm going to transcribe what we have onto the wiki in a more ordered fashion, much as I am doing with Reign of Winter! :)

Hey guys! Just updated the expedition team. I'll update the beach team in the morning.
I've been pretty busy as of late, but I thought I'd pass on some good news. I'm officially working on a chapter of Paizo's upcoming adventure path The Mummy's Mask. I can't talk in detail about it right now, but suffice to say I'm very excited! So if I seem a little slow on the draw lately, it's due to splitting my attentions between here and my freelancing :)
As for the poor, unfortunate expedition team. The effects of the screaming will only last for another six seconds, so we don't need to go to combat round-by-round timing. So feel free to post as you would, knowing that by the middle or end of your post the wailing will subside.
Anyone there may make a Knowledge (religion) check detailed below to learn a little more about what that was.
What has been experienced is a haunting. The spirits of the dead trapped in the well are not at peace. They can be dispersed by positive energy (from channel energy). If sufficient damage is done their pain will be quelled, temporarily, at which point they may try to communicate through some fashion.
The only way to permanently remove the haunt and put the souls to rest is to discover what ti is that is keeping them from passing on, though how is not an easy question to answer without their input.

Angrin Thronebearer |

I have a bonus, and I got really lucky. xD
Also, congratulations on getting the writing job, boss.
Is there anything I should roll to try and catch the good Rogath? Or has the rope already fallen?

Dakún Rabbúhamash |

Not that I think it will make much difference, but shouldn't Dakun's save be +7, not +5? He has an additional +2 bonus versus spells and spell-like abilities.
From a mechanics standpoint I am not sure this trait would do much, but from an RP aspect, would I have seen something more or could it come into play?
Spirit Sense (You gain a +2 trait bonus on Perception checks to avoid being surprised and to detect invisible or incorporeal creatures.)

![]() |

You're right, for whatever reason it didn't click with me that the power of the haunt is a SLA. Unfortunately the DC for Wailing Walls is a 13, so it doesn't change much. Had Dakun been in the well the Perception bonus would have been more helpful but it doesn't much come into play. From an RP perspective he may have felt the hairs on the back of his neck and arms stand up the moment before the wailing began.

Angrin Thronebearer |

I think that most dwarves have the +2 vs. spells and spell-like abilities. Excepting Dwunderbran, who has the SR.
I was assuming those didn't apply at this point. >_>

![]() |

Unless its listed next to your saving throw bonuses on your sheet I probably won't remember to include them in saves like that. So if you have situational bonuses, make sure they're up at the end of the Saves line on your sheet, even if it's a racial one. With all of the alternate racial traits its hard to remember who has what.

Dwunderbran Vulgarbeard |

I don't have SR! Madness! Tomfoolery! I have Hardy like most dwarves. My drawback forces me to make saving throws against helpful saves 50% of the time, though. Which sucks.

Rogath Silvertarn |

Rogath traded in for SR instead of the save bonus, but clerics just win at Will saves even without it. Reflex on the other hand...
Edit (x2): Just realized I didn't up my save update anything on my sheet after adding the Kraken-stat. I did it in Hero Lab, but I apparently failed to copy it into my profile.

An FYI, Mineko's player (who is in the military) is currently no longer able to access Paizo on the hardware he has access to while deployed. He is working to get his own PC for this purpose, but until then he will be MIA. As such I will be NPCing Mineko/Koimanu through this combat and until he returns and will largely try to keep them behind the scenes doing diplomatic things with the dwarves. I've been told it won't take too long to secure a PC, but we'll see how that goes.
