Violant Turra |

Oh, right! Move's finished, I'll get right on that
Crafter's Eyepiece - 60gp
Bag of Holding I - 75gp
Wand of False Vitality - 60gp
Wand of Pocket Library - 60gp
Wand of Alarm - 60gp
Anything else I can use? Some money will be spent on the transfer of Mirror Image to her spellbook. IF she needs any other spell from Voz's book she'll just borrow the book. Sorry about the delay, getting choice paralysis a bit here, this being the most amount of levels I've gone through besides her 1e incarnation (and I only had half feats thanks to VMC making the choices for me)
That should leave 194gp to add to the pile? I might give the Alsetan a 2nd-rank Lock wand as well. Is there an equivalent to knock in 2e? I think that'd leave her with 194gp to add to the pile. 34gp if the Lock spell is getting added.

GM Cody |

There is Knock !
Its a 2nd level spell, not as effective I think as the old knock in my opinion but I'm sure it has its uses.

GM Cody |

The citadel took its cut of the money and has its own 509 gp pool of money to pull from at first, so you can hold onto your unspent funds.

GM Cody |

Violant Turra |

34gp if the Lock spell is getting added.
I might switch Lock for Knock. Not sure what'll be more useful, opening doors or slamming them shut,

GM Cody |

its actually a little comical, what defeated the adventures was paperwork more than anything. Truly the murderhobo's bane

GM Cody |

Yes, you could hire the master stonemason to foreman the walls or battlements for 2.5 gp a week with the discount. This is in addition to the costs of the workers. I'd roll to make the checks but that would open up your actions to do something else.

GM Cody |

Once we get through the repairs, you guys can start upgrading the rooms and can hire foreman's to work those projects that ways you guys can continue adventuring while the citadel continues to improve in your absence.
Upgrading the citadel can offer free feats, skill increases, free lore skills, a trading post that is self sufficient but increases your access to goods and items.

GM Cody |

I'm not sure if this part has been kind of boring, let me know if y'all aren't digging the citadel stuff and I can try and automate it away.
Now that the portal is fixed, y'all can set some stuff up with the citadel and then its tally ho through the portal into the meat of book 2.

Samael Doulen |

I'm willing to stick with the citadel stuff, but, my character does not have society or crafting or, really any useful skill for it.
It does become a challenge.
It might be better to go adventuring so that we can get enough money to pay for expert foremen.

GM Cody |

Understandable, this first bit of repairs is definitely tough. I think you'd find success when we start picking and choose rooms to upgrade.
I especially like:
Hallways
Associated Skill Stealth
Starting Tier 1; Maximum Tier 4
General Feat Feather Step; Lore Architecture
You improve the Hallways with nice looking art and potentially install some secret passages or traps against intruders.
Just makes me think of turning the citadel into a Scooby Doo-esque castle lol
But this one would use "Stealth" as the primary foreman skill.
Once we get through this week, we can talk about setting up what y'all want from your Seneschal, set the citadel on automation mode a bit, then dive through the portal.

Lyra Flamecrest |

Can we use this downtime for crafting magical items? I think Violant - you have craft magic items. I can offer to assist if it’s allowed…

GM Cody |

Oh yeah, that's a good question. I definitely didn't think to include that. We'll say its 1 downtime action to work on crafting an item or items. But that it covers a week worth of crafting, so if you're crafting something that only takes 3 days you could also craft or start crafting something that utilizes the remaining 4 days.
I know there is eventually a "workshop" upgrade to the citadel that can aid in crafting checks.

Lyra Flamecrest |

What magic items do we need to craft?
im thinking scrolls or wands, but tbh im not entirely sure how it works, time cost etc, ill have to some research

Violant Turra |

Violant's remarks about the Kyonin elves are stemmed from a 1e feat Neither Elf Nor Human and the relevant lore around Kyonin's treatment of half-elves, for the record.

GM Cody |

to clear up how this dance battle goes:
Run the game of
daikada in two phases, continuing until at least one player has 5 points, at which time the game ends and the player with the most points is declared the winner.
Phase 1. Each dancer makes an unarmed attack roll against their opponent’s AC with a –4 circumstance penalty (due to aiming only for the opponent’s anklets). A successful hit gains the dancer 1 point, a critical hit allows the dancer to strike both anklets for 2 points, and a critical failure applies a –2 penalty to that dancer’s roll in the second phase of the game.
Phase 2: Each dancer must succeed at a DC 15 Acrobatics or Performance check to keep up with the beat of the music. A critical success here grants a +2 circumstance bonus to the dancer’s AC for the next round, failure removes 1 point from the dancer’s total, and a critical failure removes 3 points. A player who critically fails and has fewer than 3 total points is disqualified from the game. A dancer can also accept a –4 penalty to their Acrobatics or Performance check to gain a +2 circumstance bonus to her next attack roll while playing the game.

Violant Turra |

Acrobatics or Performance? I know Violant sure as hell isn't doing it if she has a choice, all three of the rolls are terrible for her.

GM Cody |

Understandable! Yeah I’ve been distracted lately, started a new job working 4/12 hour shifts. Walking 10+ miles a day in the role, been kicking my ass. Now I’m off to Michigan then DC for the next three weeks for work. I have my laptop so I’ll be posting but I might be more limited than I have been as I adjust!

GM Cody |

Hey sorry, more excuses, I've been flying back and forth across the east and west coast for work and its taking a bigger toll on me than I thought. I fly home from DC tomorrow morning, things should stabilize after that and we'll get back into our groove.
Thank you for your patience, I always wondered what caused DM's to suddenly appear absent from games thinking "couldn't be me". How wrong I was.
Again, I apologize for the disturbance my adjusting to a new job has caused for our game. We'll get back to banging through this adventure. I'm really excited for where this adventure will bring us and I think you all will enjoy it as well.

Violant Turra |

It's funny how the in-character possible justification and the out-of-character justifications for this instance can be reversed due to the amount of timeline and edition shenanigans Violant has going on.
Out-of-character: I forgot to prepare Will save spells like a dingus.
In-character: She's used to just... evocation working much better and doesn't wish to voice that everything feels wrong.

Oppa Silk |

So, by RAW I don't believe that Samael and Stom take this splash damage.
From AoN:
Some weapons and effects, such as alchemical bombs, have the splash trait. When you use a weapon or effect with the splash trait, you don’t add your Strength modifier to the damage roll. A splash weapon or effect deals any listed splash damage to the target on a failure, success, or critical success, and to all other creatures within 5 feet of the target on a success or critical success. On a critical failure, the weapon or effect misses entirely, dealing no damage. Add splash damage together with the initial damage against the target before applying the target’s resistance or weakness. You don’t multiply splash damage on a critical hit.
The Exploding Earth Spell doesn't have the "Splash Trait" per the spell description.

Oppa Silk |

The shield only absorbed (5) points of the damage... then both Doxie/Oppa and the shield absorb the remaining 15 points breaking the wooden double down.
Did you take into account Oppa's Exploding Earth spell? Spent a Hero point on it to hopefully make it succeed. With Bless the attack roll is now a 28... which might be a crit for 40+2 points of bludgeoning damage.
Also... Though the spell does splash damage it doesn't have the splash trait so not sure if it injures everyone in a 5' or not.

GM Cody |

sorry, I did factor your damage in, I forgot to narrate, I'll edit it. I think in my head I talked to you in the OOC and then just forgot to still narrate your actions. The way I read your reaction spell is that any damage suffered past the block's hitpoints you take. Since the damage was 20, hardness 5 took some off, then the remaining 15 was absorbed by the block.
28 believe it or not just barely hit <3

Touche! It's better than I thought... but I guess it is a 3rd level spell.

GM Cody |

Hey, I hope all goes well Stom. Best wishes.
I'll be going camping tonight, I doubt there'll be any service for me to post. I'll be back Sunday evening and I'll have a big post moving us forward then!
We actually are progressing through this chapter well, literally half way through the RP encounters/events lol.

GM Cody |

definitely weird pacing in my opinion on this first chapter, though congratulations on level 6. Sorry you barely got to enjoy level 5.
Pacing is all over the place with this being a 1 to 20 AP I think.

Lyra Flamecrest |

Im all leveled up! I took Selective energy and beastmaster dedication. I have a young war pig named Wilbur who will join us on the adventures and whenever we eventually make it back to the Citadel I will have one of those Warg pups as my animal companion.

Violant Turra |

HP increases by 9 to 62.
Archetype Feat: Guide the Timeline. This one looks incredibly fun.
Class Feat: TIME MAGE DEDICATION!
Skill Feat: Kreighton's Cognitive Crossover [Arcana, Crafting]
I'll have everything updated soon. I know that Kreighton's Cognitive Crossover is PFS and is uncommon... but Violant's entire gist is being interdisciplinary. I'd have done it with Lore: Mathematics and Arcana if Lore: Mathematics had been useful enough to take, for the record. Failing that, I'll probably just pick up Extra Lore: Mathematics.
