Rogath Silvertarn |

Ok, Harrowing is finally up! I set it before the day turned - hopefully it won't cause any continuity errors for anyone. It's not my best work, but it's definitely an interesting reading.
Rogath will actually make a real RP post some time over the holiday weekend, likely tomorrow night. I've definitely got some catching up to do.

This is what Day 2 looks like right now. By the time I get home from work (6pm EST) I'll be going with this. If I missed anything or if anyone wants to change their actions let me know.
If you don't determine a direction for the explore supplementary action, I'm going to assume the dwarves use only 1 group and explore the Landing Site hex.

While I've rolled for the whole day's worth of encounters in the gameplay thread, I've only brought us as far as late afternoon. I'm going to give you all some time to RP throughout the day and react to the events that have happened, then we'll move on to other instances.
Since we are going to be moving around back and forth in location (the two groups) and time (different times of day, potentially) I'd like you all to put a header at the top of your posts to indicate when it takes place, so there's no question.
<< Location (Western Hills/Beach Camp, etc) | Time of Day (Mid-Day, Afternoon, Late-Afternoon, Etc) >>
Also, with the sledges and carts you've crafted today you have sufficient tools necessary to haul supplies and more easily move camp, should you decide to travel out and set up base camp elsewhere. When moving all of the camp's supplies and traveling as a caravan, the settlers will move at 1/2 speed instead of 1/3rd speed.
Any potential Unrest you may gain from the CRAB ATTACK will be tallied up at the end of the day.

Maven Brewbane |

Hmm. Was originally going to suggest we set up nets or traps or something to catch crabs without gobbling down the whole nest at once, but if we're planning to move soon, and I think we are, then the sustained food source might not be as advantageous as the morale we gain from a good meal.
Still, nothing says we'll never visit this spot again, so having ways to replenish supplies is always nice...

Angrin Thronebearer |

Sorry, I've been hella busy recently. It's kinda exhausting. I'll try to compose a post with Angrin's reaction to the ruins. It was kinda confusing, too, given that I'm not sure exactly where we, the players are exploring.

Dwunderbran Vulgarbeard |

Play "Roll the ancient stone" with Dwunderbran. Whoever gets the farthest has to... buy... the other dwarf lunch. Or something.

Dakún Rabbúhamash |

Throwing up a game play post today for the ruins, I've been extremely busy at work all week.
Dwunderbran & Rogath, did your characters bring their armor with them or did they heed the advice given previously that they leave the armor behind to better move with stealth?

Dwunderbran Vulgarbeard |

I'm not recalling or seeing where that advice is posted.
Regardless, Dwunderbran thinks of himself as the go to guy for killing things that jump out of the wilderness at them. While he'd certainly keep his armor on for that, he'd take no issue with lagging behind the scoutier types to give them a quieter pass over things beforehand.

Angrin Thronebearer |

Haha. Yeah. Angrin's a bit irritated with Dwunderbran for thoughtlessness. He's trying to be cautious, too, but he's being a trifle hypocritical - he's just as thoughtless when he's standing in awe or touching the stones without any real precaution.

Dakún Rabbúhamash |

It was on the OOC page (since we didn't do a before leaving OOC post of the explorers. Page 11 I wrote
Explorers: I recommend removing all armor that gives armor penalties. We want to be stealthy as well as able to run if needed.
No big worry. It seems like Rogath is pretty wretched at stealth as well and Dwunderbran clearly does not have keeping a low profile on his mind.

Mineko Yamauchi |

Ok, I'm back... sorry for the absence, Lucent knows what's up. Happens occasionally due to work.
Ok, about the crab, before I post what do we say? I understand that the creature is territorial but it does post a potential risk to the camp if it does decide to attack.
Option 1 is to let it remain in place and avoid it. This potentially leaves a dangerous creature near us.
Option 2 is to attack it and either drive it off or kill it.
Option 3 is to wait for the scouting party to return before we attack as a group.
Thoughts?
At this point I am leaning towards option 2. If everyone agrees I will write up a post as such.

Dakún Rabbúhamash |

I am not part of the beach team, but I would lean toward option 2. If you have anyone with knowledge nature, they might be able to more safely determine whether the crab can be ignored or not, but without it you are just guessing it won't become a problem.

Dr. Logem, Ph.Dwarf |

I'm going to have a nice post up sometime this weekend - stuff has been distracting me as well, what with Jelani and Kagehiro's campaigns I've been making characters for, not to mention some other RL stuff.
Plus theres only so much I can write about crafting medical supplies :P

Mineko Yamauchi |

As it turns out Dr. Logem is the only one in the shore group that has Knowledge (nature) so Mineko will be gathering the him, Quint and Maven so we can deal with the crab.

Quint Bonechisel |

Whoops, didn't realize it had been so long. Had some RL stuff to deal with and just finished the first of two back to back 12 hour shifts. My post is likely to be another day or two as a result.
Quint is all for having some fresh meat and therefore option two of Mineko's. We can always just eat the 'mother' and leave the babies to grow and replenish. Would probably need to know if they're old/independant enough for that though.
Also don't ever take my prodding for responses as disappointment, I get super busy with work and Pathfinder projects, too, so I whole-heartedly understand. I figure a little nudge every now and then is good to remind people where we're at, though.
It's a good thing to have; I normally leave a tab open with the thread when I need to post, but occasionally it gets closed by accident and I need the reminder.

Angrin Thronebearer |

Well, yeah, but I meant for future attempts. Or you could post guards until we get back. :P I'm also pretty sure I left my bear traps behind, so you could try setting those...

![]() |

People at Camp: Are you planning on going out to find the giant crab, or will you be staying at camp for the night. It isn't a far distance away so it wouldn't take long to trek out to where the others found it.
People Exploring: Let me know when you're done investigating the ruins and I'll move you ahead to the next part of the day.

Angrin Thronebearer |

I had an idea... what was it?
Well, in any case, I wonder if I can use the grindstones in traps at some point or another. They're heavy, though... Hm.

Quint Bonechisel |

Kill the crab!
In regards to my gain influence roll, that's enough for two influence at the cost of 30gp. Spending two goods would there then be a 'floating' 10gp worth of goods left after paying for it, or do we have to trade the full value of goods? Would I be able to hold off on spending the actual goods until I earn another 2 influence? (4 influence=60gp=3 goods)
