Yeah, Maven's been in Highhelm pretty much all of her life, and only a few of the drow got as far as her location. Boy did they regret that.
Angrin's from the deepest settlement (canonically) in the Five Kings Mountains, Varrok's Deep. In my mind, it's got a rather distinct culture from being under perpetual siege by the drow, aberrations, and occasionally duergar. It's not in a very good way right now, as might be imagined. It's also why he keeps wondering about people who stink themselves up, and he'll occasionally make reference to how the surface dwarves drink too much on occasion - like a funeral. He's also got the whole function.
Haha, then I guess Rin must be from Varrok's Deep too then. Makes sense if that's the place that got hit first, being closest to the underground labyrinth's of the Drow and all. Still, Dwarven Kingdoms are huge, so you may not have even heard of Rin, or come across his wares/shop.
He left pretty soon after the attack though, and is somewhere up on the surface right now (present time) with his trusty large bastard sword (his one, not the gift to Hraggir), along with his few remaining belongings.
I've been counting the funeral as happening before the earthquake's and Drow invasion, so his back story actually takes place in the future from where we are now. ;)

@Everyone else - Feel free to have a read. I don't know who's going to make it to the final party, so I don't mind sharing my backstory as I trust nobody will meta-game.
@Rin - Rogath is from that area, although from a smaller settlement, not quite as deep. So he wasn't as involved in fighting off the primary drow attacks, although I'm sure his town sent soldiers to help. As it is with Angrin, it's entirely possible that Rogath has met you once or twice, but until he left home to go to the surface, there'd have been no particular reason for you to remember him.
Ah, as in just stumbled into Rin or visited his shop to purchase something? He'd probably be familiar with your face then, but might not be able to place his finger on who you are.
Sounds like we'll all have a lot to talk about though!

Indeed. Sad part is, that's more accurate than you might think, Kal'Tos. Had a couple already die on me before even 50 posts, COUNTING recruitment. That's sad.

Definitely. And it reached a natural conclusion, instead of just suddenly dying mid-action. Which is in-and-of-itself impressive. I've had long-running games suddenly die, in addition to the ones that never got off the ground in the first place. I'm definitely looking forward to this!

I can only assume that if Dolgrin wasn't on Torag's Anvil, he'd be on Kol's Hammer with Daelric and Magnus, which I'm sure they'd prefer to be on the ship named for their deity. Dolgrin probably would feel safer away from Dwunderbran too, lol.
