So awesome when the DM uses an attack that should never miss but rolls a 1
Duncan screams in Rage as the worm attempts to bite him, but it's attack is clumsy and just barely catches the dwarf.
Activates Dwarven Seething feat as an IMMEDIATE Action, allowing him to apply his racial +4 to AC against this creature, taking his AC from 36 to 40 and negating the hit.
Duncan designates this as his target for Ring of Focused foe- free action. Duncan's Raw AC vs this creature is now 42
On his turn.
Duncan Reaches back with his sword and chops at the Massive Target hoping to inflict some damage before he dies in glorious service to save his friends.
He saw the fire in the eyes of the king and tried to aid with his own Strike. Taking a Standard action to Make a single Attack and call Iomedae!
1 hand power attack, cornugan smash: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (9) + 16 = 25
Damage: 1d10 + 2 + 4 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 2 + 4 + 6 = 21
A Hit triggers Cornugan Smash as a free action.

yes. I can add +2 to it. So I added a +1 to make it +5 and the other to add the ice ability. so only that 1d6 at the end is ice

Meh. Freedom of Movement while casting defensively seems like my best option. Just gotta get out of this thing's reach, and with a massive CMB and grab, no way am I gonna be about to provoke and try to get past it. Perhaps Nym can super cold blast it again, or something, or the axe-dwarves can go all choppity-chop before we get nommed. BTW, kudos, GM, this is a really challenging set of encounters, especially for high-level PCs. Keeps us on our toes, for sure.

Duncan you figure some variation of a purple worm that has been corrupted by lava, probably from some fiery plane in the abyss. Another one of Orcus's toy minions sent to soften you up.
Recognition pings in Duncan's mind, he recognised what the creature looked like but something was OFF for some reason Looks like a purple worm, but they ain't usually burnin'. Powerful as they look and dumb as a rock. Attack it's mind if ye can. Grungsdi, ye gotta aim fer the head!

Two of the future King's attacks hit home but one attack had a bigger bite to it. The crispy dwarf's axe sinks in deeply with a satisfying crunch as the beast slumps. This blow is quickly followed up by Duncan's crunching smash. There is a momentary pause before an epic explosion as the lava worm bursts.

If we have time to heal, Karnog leads off with a channel, then pulls a wand out.

Duncan and Grung still have a reflex to do.
Karnog you do have time to casts a healing channel and folks can down a potion if they need to. It's a good idea about using some of those disposable items. I'm not going to give you much more Free Action time to heal up. I would like to keep you moving and having to make action choices to heal.
Make sure your stat lines are up to-date.

Desmond, Nym, Kalim, and Felic are in a rectangular shaped room that is filled with crunch bones of animals and humanoids. Several areas in the room have standing water of an unknown depth. Lastly, there is tunnel branching off from the room which is near where Desmond is standing.
Desmond I need you to make two perception checks

I'm not going to give you much more Free Action time to heal up. I would like to keep you moving and having to make action choices to heal. I'm trying to keep the tension high and sense of danger up.

Following through from his last strike, Duncan drops to a knee, Blade down and ducks under his shield at the moment the creature explodes in a shower of gore, rock and flames.
He fantastically is able to shrugged off most of the damage.
He nods his thanks to his 2 Dwarven brothers as the positive energy heals him.
He takes a moment to pull a 1st level pearl of Power from a pouch to refocus his energy and renew an earlier casting of Divine Favorites, making the divine spell available for later.
