Evil GM

Desmond and Nym:
Now the battle is over you do not have the urge to touch the gem and it can be stowed away safely.

Nym:
You would keep an eye on Desmond to ensure that he tucks it away safely. You are convinced that the stone created an invisibilty and blur field on those touching the stone. The giant must have had the ability to see invisibility and he simply got lucky with his hit to get passed the blur effect. Lucky whack.

Evil GM

Duncan:
With your detect evil ability you do see everyone's wounds, including your own, are pinging evil.

Evil GM

As far as the loot in the room and on the giant. The explosion at the end destroyed the mundane items but he does have a few items:

The glaive he was wielding is made out of an unusual metal, it radiates a moderate magic (+3). You will need to appraise for the metal type as we've never used this previously.

He has a second glaive strung over his back that survived the explosion. It is made out of adamantine and with moderate magic (+3)

Both items are large.

He has a bandolier that is burnt and useless but he has three potions that survived. 1) unholy potion of shield of faith (+5 orcus), 2) Oil of magic vestment (+3). 3) A potion you've never seen before but it does radiate evil. You can try to figure it out by using detect magic and spell craft or identify or other means if you want to. Or you can just try to taste it.

He has two rings on his fingers: these will resize.
1) ring of cold resistance +10
2) ring of protection +2

His cloak is blackish red in color and it survived the blast and will resize. Cloak of resistance (=2)

His armor is destroyed but there is clump of molten mithral chain that can be gathered if you want it.

His camp

You find a small stone box that contains (4) four more of those evil radiating potions all marked the same with skull. You also find (2) two more oil of magic vestment but these are +2, and another unholy potion of shield of faith (+4 orcus)

His camp also has a few small piles of throwing rocks.

He has another stone box that has assorted gem in it totaling $6000 gold pieces.

There are a couple hanging racks of meat that he had for his meals, along with a half dozen kegs of ale. there is a frying pan and pot for boiling on a lava fissure. He also has a mundane short sword that he uses as dagger and to spear his meat.

Evil GM

Other than a few of Aurora's feathers and the bard's banner on the ground there is no trace of her.

Someone can do a detect magic and spellcraft to determine if there are any lingering magical effects.

There are a lot of decision and things you can do right now in this cavern to figure out. But here is quick list in no particualr order:

1) What's up with your wounds
2) Where's Felicitas
3) What's the unknown potions
4) what about that cool glaive metal
5) where do all those passages go?
6) Desmond invisibilty stone
7) Is it time to look through Karnog's medic supplies for any possible help?
8) Why does Duncan's scabbard talk?

It really will take you at least 2 hours to try to heal up, rest and eat a bit, search the cavern, look for clues, and identify things. Factor that inot any onegoing spells duration.

You recognize the bottle type, you've seen these in your homeland and carried by drow troops. They typically contain a "healing" potion. You also know that often potions like this use demon blood or unholy water and resonate an evil aura.

Never thought I'd see it, but me PA tol me about the skymetals. Think this one's called Ghost Iron. Passes through other metals like they weren't there but works against flesh fine. Doesn't hold an edge well on account a bein' a soft alloy.....But a perfect weapon if yer fightin' really heavy Armored foes like Battle dwarves.....

Duncan's voice trails off, measuring the implications of such a weapon being in the hands of a follower of Orcus.

Grung looks to Karnog. . What do you think brother? Take the evil potion and atone by slaying evil?. He says as he holds the potion

What is that gem, it was flowing like a lighthouse the whole fight?

Duncan hands the potion Karnog gave him to Grungsdi. NONE of ye should use the evil potions. This ain't about karma points or not gettin in trouble with yer God alone. What does it say about yer soul if yer willin ta use it just cause there ain't no consequences. Karnog and I can keep ourselves up wit our magics. Grungsdi, you use the clensing potion an I'll heal ye up. Then we beat it outta here and cure Everyone else. Shame on tha rest a ye Fer considerin' the infernal potions. They probably kilt more 'n a couple o innocents or worse things in their creation. Be better n that, please.

This is one of the rarer times the group has seen the normally stoic and grumpy dwarf look really concerned.
Takin easy decisions is what started me boy down his dark path. Now he's workin Fer Orcus an killin' his own people....
There was an obvious pain...and shame... behind his words.

Grung hands over the other potion and downs the one Duncan gives him, nodding his head.

"Well, a single Evil act will not turn one to the dark side. It's a bit like the question of how many grains of sand does it take to make a beach? There is some discrete line between 'mound if sand' and 'beach', just as there is a discrete line between Good and Evil. I know I wont be risking the Great Creator's displeasure, even if it means I must chance my healing on this potion."

Karnog says a prayer of protection and good fortune, then downs his remove curse potion.

Duncan and Karnog:
You each feel the pleasure of your deities as you know morally you've made the correct decision. You know the ends do not justify the means.

Grungsdi and Karnog the remove curse potions that you drink tingles as the festering stops. When you follow up with a healing potion or spell you gain normal healing.

"Well you're the one who said no consequences. Besides, we can't unhurt anybody who was used in the making of this. We're likely planning on destroying it anyways. But at least we could get some positive use out of it by curing ourselves so we can better avenge them." Desmond surprisingly doesn't seem to be tongue-in-cheek about this.
