You all realize something large has been living in this room. The hides and furs look like bedding and they are indented. There is smell of sulfur and burnt meat. There are animal bones scattered about but mostly near the bedding area.
You do see a large metal shield leaning against a wall along with a couple large spears.
Other than lowlight and darkvision does anyone have any special ability to see?

Duncan's Detect Chaotic evil runs 150mins but he needs to concentrate. Given Desmond's slow ness and the fact he cast it earlier, he would focus on it intermittently while scouting

Update Cavern Map
Here is the current map of what you can see. there are lava fissures so there is plenty of light for you.

The party enters the massive cavern that looks as if something has lived there recently. The makeshift firepit near the middle of the cave is still smoldering and there's the popping sound of grizzle on the coals. You can see several side tunnels that line the perimeter.
Everyone can roll a perception check for me.

Other than having a heightened feeling that something large, very large, resides in this cavern you don't see anything that hasn't already been described. Your detect magic and detect evil hasn't pinged anything.
What are your intentions?
I forgot to describe that there are several barrels and casts across the cave and there are several carcasses hanging on iron pitons/hooks.

As soon as the rock is thrown at the dwarf, a fiery giant appears across the way. It has long flame wicked hair tied in knot, and it is clad in a mitral scale mail. Most impressively are the glaive it is holding in one hand and second one that is strapped to his back.

I just want to make sure everyone has a good visual of what's happening here. Desmond is holding the stone, Nym and Kalim each have a hand on the stone as if you are touching the lucky rock before the big game. But you don't want to let the lucky rock go.

Karnog shakes his head at the foolishness of humans, before looking with malice and hatred at the giant to the south.
In giant, he calls out, "Foolish giant. Your doom approaches, and you know it not. Drop your weapons and prostrate yourself before your betters, and we will consider sparing your life. Cost us any further time and inconvenience, and your shredded corpse will decorate the walls and floor behind you."
Karnog moves forward, spinning his hammer in a circle and chanting softly in dwarven. As the weapon's circles complete, blue-white tunes surround the head before enlarging and spring forth to wrap around the giant. In an instant, a glittering, clanging wall of blades springs up, cutting across the giant and blocking the passage behind him.
