I've found it to be pretty similar to running the box in person. There is a database that we are interacting with instead of a box. Pick locations, choose henchmen/villains (story banes), populate the locations with the decklist plus story banes, populate the blessing deck.
Post an update with the adventure and scenario text. Post an update with board status after a location needs shuffled or after about a round of play, this usually equates to about a post a day or so at a standard one post from each player a day. Might require more if your players are really involved.
Read through each post to see how each bane/boon was handled, reach out to players if anything seems amiss.
Post results at the end, track what feats and upgrades are taken and report results back via the collected reporting for a convention or individual reporting outside of that.
I've found it's a little easier for scenario and adventure oddities to get overlooked so frequently it's reminding players of the nuances of that particular adventure.
I'd say it generally is less intensive to run a box than it is to play, assuming you play with a bit of RP flair, which most do online.
Guess what I'm saying is outside of understanding how to interact with the database, it's pretty much the same as doing it in person.

I'm running Season of the Goblins: We Be Goblins Too! (Adventure 2)
If you are interested in playing, hop over to Recruitment
This is a perfect chance to push your We Be Heroes goblins further!
We have a Poog, a Mogmurch, and a Siathorn so far. I can take up to 3 more gobs! I will stop recruitment, end of day 7/14/19.
This is a casual game. Players update whenever convenient so the normal daily commit needed for most games does not apply.

Hello, Online Peoples!
A bit late but general player signups for PbP Gameday VIII are officially open! You may sign up for up to 3 RPG games and/or 2 ACG games - and this includes Specials - at the link >>HERE<<. These limits are to ensure that everyone has a fair chance to find seating for games. Unlimited player signups will open later, on July 22nd.
Have fun and I hope that everyone gets the spots they've been hoping for! :D
GM Ladile |
Apologies to those who have been waiting for an 'official' announcement but unlimited player signups for PbP Gameday VIII are now open. This means that you may sign up to play as many games as you think you can handle*. That said, please take care to be responsible and avoid signing up for more than you can reasonably keep up with as it can become quite the burden on your fellow GMs and players to have people dropping out mid-game.
(I believe this also applies to ACG offerings but please note otherwise if I am mistaken!)
You can find the signup spreadsheet for games here.
Enjoy and Happy Gaming!
______________
*Though SFS #2-00 Fate of the Scoured God may be played for credit once in each tier, we are currently restricting players to one signup for Gameday. We plan to offer this particular special again in the not-too-distant future and would rather not see the majority of our SFS players burn through their opportunities to play it all in one shot.

Hi all, we're a week away from the start of gameday! (August 26)
If you haven't already, check into your games. You can find links to your gameplay thread(s) from the sign-up sheet which can be found HERE

***Announcement***
As of today (Tuesday, August 20th) we are no longer accepting table submissions for PbP Gameday VIII unless you have already mustered a legal table on your own. As long as you have a legal table you may still submit your game using the submission form under the Other Recruitment heading. You may also continue to recruit for a table that is not full even after submitting your table to the table listing (i.e. a GM finds 4 players & submits the game - you may still look for 2 more players to fill the table.)
Please let us know if you have any questions.
Less than a week to go, woo!
Cheers,
Lady Ladile

wait when was the announcement for this gameday? I havent seen it :(
Lady Ladile |
The initial announcement was made June 18th over in the Events (Online Play) section of the forums. Subsequent announcements pertaining to Gameday activities and questions have been announced there as well as in the Discussion/Recruitment threads of the lodges hosted on Pazio (Flaxseed, Cottonseed, Castamir's & here) as well as elsewhere (Myth-Weavers, RPPGeek, Discord).
All that said, if you are very new to the forums, don't frequent the forums often, or don't often participate in any of the Organized Play Campaigns (PFS, SFS, ACG) then it's still certainly easy to miss a lot of the announcements. We do try our best to make sure to get the word out early and often but sometimes people still fall through the cracks for reasons beyond anyone's control :(
But! We are still a few days away from the official start of PbP Gameday VIII which is Monday, August 26th. While I don't know if you have any interest in games outside of ACG there are still tables with open spots available on the game listing here if you are interested. And if not then please don't worry - there will be more events happening in the future :)
Cheers,
Lady Ladile
Venture-Agent, Online (PbP)
P.S. If you have any further questions or comments about PbP Gameday, please post them over in Discussion or in the initial announcement thread so that we keep Recruitment from getting too cluttered and off-topic :)

After the current game day is over I would like to get a season 6 table together.
Difficulty? Cranked to 11.
Party composition? Maznar. Just Maznar.
Maznar + Ultimate Combat
Maznar + Ultimate Equipment
maznar + Ultimate Intrigue
Maznar + Ultimate Magic
Maznar + Ultimate Wilderness
Maznar + Pathfinder Tales
Why?
You may reveal an ally that has the Animal trait to add 1d4 to any check by a character at your location.
Think of how differently the game plays when you are adding 6d4 to every roll.
Other then the animal ally you hold for the reveal ability every ally and blessing can just be used to explore. And one of the Power feats you can take lets you discard a spell to retrieve an animal from your discard pile.
The druid CD starts with a cure as does UM. 7 cures should keep everyone healthy even through random damage and discarding most of your hands for explore every turn.
The idea of course is to stay together as much as possible.
Obviously you need to own the Druid class deck and one of the other decks to participate. Of the 6 I just own UM and UW.
Let me know if there is an interest in playing or being Boxrunner for it. I'm hoping for a fast paced game where everyone can post at least once a day.
wkover - Kess |
I have a Tier 4 Kess (Barbarian/Ult Wilderness) who just completed Dragon's Demand. If any existing campaigns are in need of a melee specialist, feel free to PM.
Kess likes long walks in the park, bubbly ales, weight training, and treasure hunting for the bone splinters of her defeated enemies.
Also chocolate sundaes!
Bonus: Kess won't fight you for weapon or spell upgrades, unless she feels like it.
Bigguyinblack |
I could see doing that if one of the players just doesn't have one. But the druid class deck is shall we say underpowered compared to newer decks. The party as a whole would be better of with the second copy of an ult deck even if there is a risk of doubling up on a few cards.
That being said, This won't work unless all 6 players stick through to the very end. And while it has only been a couple of days, No one has expressed any interest.
This is probably just a pipe dream.

It helps to catch players between online gaming events. Gameday VIII is ongoing and ends in mid-November. Players may free up after that.
There's also the issue of how accessible this thread is to PACG players - new or otherwise. I was on the Paizo forums for quite a while before I stumbled across this thread, and it took even longer to figure out how to subscribe.
I originally didn't think that subscribing was possible. I would just check randomly. Then a good samaritan showed me the light.

This sounds like a really fun idea but I'm in three games atm and work is getting very busy. I want to do this cuz it sounds like fun but I'm overextended atm.

Not sure if anyone’s starting a game anytime soon, but I’d be really interested in playing. I’ve got both the new core and curse sets. I’m hoping to test out the new class deck mechanics. Long story short, any games starting out there?
You're in the right place, we are just announcing our next online convention. Full details here (click). Sign-ups will open on March 2nd, and play will start on March 30th.
Someone might post a game separately before the event starts but if not then that will be a good way to get started.

A couple of my games are getting near the finish line. I would like to play sanctioned CotCT again, I'm enjoying it.. Probably with WotR Enora + Witch CD this time.
I'm fine with it being before the convention or starting it during but I want to do the whole thing.
I would also be keen to play sanctioned CotCT
Probably Kess, but not sure yet.... so many choices :-)Lady Ladile |

Hello Awesome Folks!
It's now officially midnight, March 2nd GMT and general player sign-ups for Outpost III: Puttin' on the Ritz are now OPEN! Remember, we're currently limiting sign-ups to 3 tables a person, which includes 1 Special. This may be subject to change later if we end up with several half-filled or empty tables but for now, 3 tables max, please!
Now go forth and fill those tables!

Just making sure I'm doing this right, sorry being a complete newbie, but all we have to do is sign up under the PACS tab? Do we need to introduce ourselves anywhere else?

You've done everything you need to do for now.
Eventually the thread for your game will be posted in the spreadsheet. You can do intros there - either on the Discussion page or the Gameplay page. The BR will express any intro-posting preferences, if s/he has any.
Note that information for new players can be found here:
Anyway, best of luck!

I would like to play a sanctioned CotCT game as well but I'd be a little slow to post right now as work is kicking my butt (can post at least 3 times a week but not sure i can post daily). If that's ok would love to join but if not I completely understand. =)
Well if a group for this forms, I'm be happy to join in.

Short question. I am experienced player with the app. And have just ordered my Core And CT sets for Offline play. I really want to join some online play to play with other players too.
If the delivery gets delayed i might have a week where I need to make do with the online available Resspurces for a week, which sounds plausible to me.For context i am a very experienced board gamer and read about everything online available about the game and strategies.
Do you think it is okay when I register for the current season?

Hi there, this would be fine. We'd love to have you! For this online convention Paizo is allowing tier 1 characters to use adventure packs without verification of purchase. Since you have Core/Curse on the way that's what you'd be using anyway. You can read more about adventure packs from this blog post. Note that if someone is using class decks/ultimate decks those still need to be verified like normal.
For more information on how to get started check out my profile which has the most up-to-date info until we get the campaign page updated. If you have any questions please feel free to ask them in the discussion tab.
Cheers

Looking for 4 Goblins (Or Goblin wannabes) for a run of We Be Heroes?
This is to give a small leg up for the Paizocon VTT games so while you can play any character you own your deck must consist of Adventure Packs only.
You can find them here.
And since the con is 2 weeks away, Even these 2 scenarios might be pushing it so if you can't commit to once per day or better this may not be the game for you.
With those thoughts in mind you can sign up here.
Due to time constraints I'll be closing sign ups in 2 days and will run with under 4 players if 4 are not signed up yet.
I will probably do a slower paced run of this after the Con and without the Adventure Packs rules.

Looking to set up a party for PACS Open 2019: All for Immortality at PaizoCon on Thursday, May 28, 3-5pm (GMT-04). This will be a new experience for me. At the moment, the party consists of the following.

Few items of note:
Please reply to this message in the thread letting folks know which number spot you signed up for.

Hey y'all. Posting here in case someone can help.
I have a PaizoCon Online slot that somehow was not the time I had originally slotted it for. I already have 3 players at the table.
A Night at Bloodthorne Manor, Scenario C: Society of the Veil; Thurs May 28, 12-2am (GMT-07)
Yeah, it's not a friendly-to-North-America time slot. My problem is that it falls at 7-9PM in New Zealand (that's getting-small-kids-to-bed time). I had thought that it was a 4-6PM slot when I originally signed up to BR it.
So, instead of having it cancel and leaving the 3 gamers signed up in the lurch, I'm reaching out here (along with the various Discord servers) to see if someone can help me fix my oops.
Thanks for the assistance. For the PACS!
