The Adventure 7-3 reward states:

Once you win this reward, does it apply to all characters a character owns? I'm not sure that's RAI but it reads that way to me RAW.

Just an fyi: I am running 7-1 for an online gaming convention pretty much nonstop for Oct 2-4 so my ability to post at that time will be limited. That's the only known time commitment i have for a couple months though. =)

-Pre-Core rules, characters, and cards are going to be used, I am treating this like Core and Curse have never been released.

Ok so I know there are a bunch of online conventions coming up but I can't figure out which ones have PACS. I want to add them to my calendar so I don't miss any PACS awesomeness. Anyone know which ones I should look forward to? =)

Any word on which (if any) of these conventions will have PACS at them?

If anyone needs a core only setup for TTS, let me know. I have a game saved with that setup.

Sorry I should have posted the exact verbage here. Here is what the reward says:

When players complete this scenario, whether they succeed or not, each player earns a deck upgrade and a mini-Chronicle sheet for the Pathfinder Society Adventure Card Guild. A player can apply this upgrade to one character built using a Pathfinder Adventure Card Game Class Deck; use the rules in the Pathfinder Society Adventure Card Guild Guide to Organized Play (see Basic trait and the B set indicator with another card of the same type that has the B set indicator; the deck upgrade card does not need to have the Basic trait. She should then fill out the miniChronicle sheet with her name, her character’s name and class, and her Pathfinder Society ID number, indicating which card she has taken in the “Deck Upgrade” section of the mini-Chronicle (see paizo.com/pathfindersociety). After a player has built her deck, sheet. Each player may earn only one mini-Chronicle sheet per she can replace one card in her starting deck that has both the season. Thanks for playing!

So the way I parse it now is that someone can replace a level 0 card with a level 0 card..... In most cases this wouldn't be considered an upgrade.

So I know these are low priority as they are kinda old at this point but I had been thinking of playing some older season stuff recently and wondered:

The scenario rewards for this allow you to choose a non-basic upgrade. As this is now obsolete, are there any plans at all to give these two scenarios a different reward? (Or do they at least award a hero point? If they do, that's probably good enough.)

I'm crossing my fingers for an announcement at gencon but it might be wishful thinking.

If memory serves, I think there was a 2-3 year gap between Mummy's Mask and Core/Curse so there is precedent in thinking that even if we don't get a new set every year, the game isn't dead. ;)

Is the legacy characters core conversion legal to use for PACS? Enquiring mimes would like to know if the conversion spreadsheet verbage can be used for characters playing PACS on Tabletop Simulator. Thanks!

As stated in the recruitment thread, I'm interested in playing Radovan again but I know he can get a bit annoying in pbp.

I could also play my Damiel again as he only completed the first scenario of CotCT. We can still switch out class decks for adventure packs if the character was created before the adventure packs were a thing yes?

I'm happy with any difficulty and have a slight preference for discord (I like being able to ping folks or pin messages) but I'm cool with hangouts too.

I'm thinking of playing Radovan again. I've been wanting to try the Pitbound Bodyguard role he has. I've already played him with the Sczarni King role. haven't decided yet on what decks or adventure packs i will be using. he can be a little weird in pbp (ive run out or random monsters for him before) so if folks dont want me to play him, thats fine. There are plenty of characters to choose from.

I would like to join this but the caveat is that i can't start for approximately 2 weeks or so. I am recovering from shingles in my eye (sigh).

I would like to play a sanctioned CotCT game as well but I'd be a little slow to post right now as work is kicking my butt (can post at least 3 times a week but not sure i can post daily). If that's ok would love to join but if not I completely understand. =)

I could see doing that if one of the players just doesn't have one. But the druid class deck is shall we say underpowered compared to newer decks. The party as a whole would be better of with the second copy of an ult deck even if there is a risk of doubling up on a few cards.

That being said, This won't work unless all 6 players stick through to the very end. And while it has only been a couple of days, No one has expressed any interest.

This is probably just a pipe dream.

This sounds like a really fun idea but I'm in three games atm and work is getting very busy. I want to do this cuz it sounds like fun but I'm overextended atm.

I'd love to see less black borders too. Its hard on toner usage when you are printing alot.

Ah. The new wording says "If the level of the Core or Curse card is higher than your tier, you can’t replace that card until you’re allowed to put cards of that level into your deck." So yes, you can do that. If you think it needs to be clearer still, please suggest a wording. (However, please note that I can't add more than a few words to that column without causing a minor cascade of text flow issues.)

You cannot use a Core/Curse card as a replacement until your tier is equal to or higher than the level of that card. For example when starting at Tier 1 you can take replacement cards of levels 0 or 1.

Would that be too long? If it is perhaps instead it could just be left as written and include an core/curse replacement card in the example? I think that would clear things up pretty handily if there is room for it in the column/page.

I'm not completely sure what you mean here... but I see the Core/Curse replacement rules say you may swap cards "in between scenarios." The question that I think was being asked (because I've seen the question asked on multiple tables) is whether you can really "cheat" in level 1 Core/Curse cards into your starting deck because their pre-Core equivalent is Basic.

A great example of this is the Standard Bearer ally, but it's not the only example. A lot of players seem to find it unintuitive - or think that they're somehow cheating - if they replace a basic pre-Core card with a Level 1 post-Core card in their very starting deck.

(It seems clear to me that, yes, you can replace your starting cards with any same-named level 0 or 1 Core/Curse boon immediately, incidentally. If a card is in your deck when you replace it, then the replacement card also ends up in your deck.)

Yewstance stated what I meant. I've played a couple PbP games now where it was interpreted that we could switch out for level 0 boons but not level 1 boons until we have completed the first scenario. Standard Bearer is usually the one we can't take until we have played one scenario.

I agree that it would be a little easier when teaching new people but we have been teaching them about B,C,P and basic since the game came out so I personally don't think it makes much difference. I agree with Keith as well that changing this would make us start stronger with fewer upgrades. There are also a number of cards in the class decks that would probably end up "dead" as no one would want to take them unless required to as well. As it currently is, I still feel excited to get a 0 card upgrade my first few sessions. Not as excited as a 1 of course, but it doesn't feel like we won nothing if we only got 0s for the first couple of games.

For Guide 6.2 can there be some clarification on whether or not you can replace a B basic card with a Core/Curse 1 card for the first scenario? There has been some question/confusion on that.

Nah, SotR characters are fine. At least as far as the impact of this reward goes. It's mostly just "some day a couple stats you don't really use gets a +1" (cause you max out your actually used stats)

I like to play jack-of-all-trades characters and DON'T max out a couple stats. I like to spread the skill points around. I don't think it can be assumed that stats a character doesn't use alot would be the only ones affected....

Has the Season of the Righteous reward for Adventure 2 been addressed yet or will it be addressed in guide 6.2? Sorry for bothering on it but my husband and I wanted to play it and see if we can beat it with the new rules for fun. =)

These rules from page 6 of the Guide still apply: "In Adventure Card Society play, you are not required to play through specific scenarios in order... Your character can play any scenario whose # is within 1 of that character’s current tier."

To be clear, you can mix-and-match sanctioned scenarios with standard PACS scenarios too.

Ok so I'm getting ready to run this in person next week for organized play. I noticed soemthing odd though. Typically PACS scenarios may be played in any order but Dragon's Demand (and CotCT) dictate the order in which scenarios should be played. I figured it would be addressed in the sanctioning document but I can't find it.

Do Dragon's Demand (and CotCT) scenarios have to be played in the order listed for organized play?

Woot! Radovan it is then. =) Lini is my favorite character but I really like the thematic idea of the character doing season 5 doing the special as the name makes them sound related.

So I got tired of writing down my deck list on a plain sheet of paper along with my wishlist of deck list upgrades so I made a pretty template to go with my paperwork. Not sure if anyone else would like it but here it is. The top has room to list which deck(s) you are using. The Deck list section has slightly more lines than the maximum I counted on my cards. The Upgrade List is where I like to write down what cards I want to upgrade with.

Hi there, super excited to play this! I'm not 100% sure Lini is going to play this. It could be Radovan instead depending on how far I get at my in-person game with Radovan so I won't be doing a character introduction until I know for sure which character I'm playing. Radovan would be more thematically appropriate for me since he is doing season 5 right now but he's already tier 6 and may end up tiering out before the special. ;)

I'm cool with Discord or Google Hangouts as well.
