I would be up for trying my hand at running. It seems like a grand endeavor though but I assume there are resources about how all our boxrunners make these crazy posts.
Of course! The posts currently are generated by a database so the biggest thing we need to do is set-up the scenario and have a basic understanding of the game flow. For outpost we had a webcast training session and also had some instructions typed up for reference. For the next con we'll do something similar so rest assured you won't be going in blind

Alright, so let's start actually recruiting here. The event will officially start on July 9th!
I'm hoping to have the site up and ready for all of you to go look at within the next two weeks. For now, though, let's get everyone signed up to run boxes!
Below is a link to a Google spreadsheet where you can list yourself as a potential box runner. Rules are as follows:
1. You can run a max of 2 tables, so as to not stress everyone's bandwidth too much. In addition to running 2 tables, you will be allowed to play in 2 tables as well. You should assume you will NOT be a player at any of your own tables, unless you have trouble filling that table.
2. You may restrict the number of players at your table if you have a STRONG AVERSION to 6-player tables. You can't restrict to any fewer than 4 players total.
3. In order to run a box, you need to prove to us that you own a minimum of ANY ONE PACG base set. So, if you only own the Rise of the Runelords box, you may theoretically run Season of Plundered Tombs scenarios if you'd prefer, but you should be very familiar with those rules at the very least. In order to prove this ownership, take a picture of your base set with a slip of paper showing your Paizo.com username, and send it to cartmanbeck@orgplayonline.com. If you've already verified as such to us, you're good to go.
So, use this link to sign up. My goal is to get us at least 25 tables! Signup Sheet

Running events is great. Can we please make sure to have a "beginner" table (or more) for those, like myself, that while having played several real life games (thanks to the great sale Paizo had a month or so ago), but haven't had the opportunity to play online yet.
I echo this. I love the card game but no one in my area plays it so I’d love to play online, but don’t know how.

I'm sure there will be a number of beginner tables :)
The first thing you need to do is purchase a physical character deck. This is so you can reference the powers on the character as well as the cards you have to work with, and is a requirement for Organized Play that you own the physical deck whose character you are playing comes from. (I believe you'll be asked to verify ownership with a picture, but don't quote me on that.)
After that, take a look through the Mummy's Mask rulebook PDF and the PFS ACG guide, so you have a basic understanding of the rules. Both of these are free.
Next, peek at one of the existing ACG Play-by-Post threads to see how they work to familiarize yourself with the general format of things.
Finally, if you have any questions, ask! Everyone here is super nice and will work with you to further your understanding of the game. You can ask in the gameplay/discussion tab to get a more immediate response from your box runner or other players, or you can ask in the ACG section of the forums to reach a wider audience and get (semi-)official responses.

I do have a number of physical decks (Got a few at this and last year's Paizocon) and I've played the physical game before (again, at this and last year's Paizocon). Just don't know how the play by post thing works. I'll look up one of those threads.

Yeah I referred VampByDay here since he wanted to know more about PbP play. BR Nalshene is cartmanbeck (Online VC)'s alias.
Please feel free to ask questions here. I'll dig up the post for the "newbie to PbP" that was created for the previous PbP convention...

Great to see new faces jumping into the thread!
It's correct that we'll ask you to verify by photo that you own the deck that you're going to use. Please take a photo of the deck box or one of the character tokens from any decks you'd like to verify, along with a piece of paper showing your character screenname, and attach it to an email including your full name and your Paizo.com associated email address. Send that email to morkxii@orgplayonline.com.
Definitely read up on the thread that zeroth_hour2 linked above, as there are a ton of things in there that will be helpful.
I'll be working feverishly over the next two weeks or so to get our new database system up and running, and then I'll probably do a gotomeeting session (which I can also record) to demonstrate the new system and its features!

Thanks to everyone who has signed up so far! We currently have 21 tables, which is fantastic! I would love to see a few more tables pop up to fill us out to an even 25, but if not, we're good either way.
I'll start assigning adventures to everyone, based on the preferences you've given. You can assume you'll be running adventure 1, but we'll leave it up to players to request higher-tier adventures if they'd like.
Signups for players will likely go up in the middle if this month, and I'll make sure to blast an announcement out about that to all the forums and such that I can find!
EDIT: I realized I was stupidly counting the two tables I signed up for example@example.com, so our current total counting Yewstance's post just below this is 21 tables. :)

I know that people here are prepping for the online con, and I really appreciate all the help for us noobs to online card game play. I don’t want to seem unappreciative at all; I really do appreciate it.
But looking through the goblin run through that has been linked, I got a really silly, stupid idea. I was just wondering, what are the chances that-after the convention is over and everyone has recovered, there might be another playthrough of season of the goblins I could join? Not asking for mythic stuff, just the goblins part (though I wouldn’t say no to more afterword of course.)
Again, really looking forward to the con and very greatful for those putting it on. Don’t want to take away from that.

It looks like we currently have 3 tables for season of the goblins that will be offered during the online con. I'll be running one of those tables if you'd like to join mine when the sign-up sheet comes around for the con. Note that I likely won't be continuing the table past the season of the goblins (two Adventure decks) due to time constraints but it will still be a fun experience.

Alright, I'm in!
I tried playing ACG over a VPN server a few years back....it went badly.
I'm really excited to try this, but nervous as all get-out!
Still, thanks to the organisers for getting this going!
-Dink
PS. Cartmanbeck, I'll get you a pic of my Mummy's Mask set when I get home this evening.

So I've never actually done anything by PBP (except for 2 of LucianC's Real-Time ACG PBPs, but those seem to kinda be a different animal). Would it be a terrible idea for me to try Box-Running during the con?
I would suggest you consider just playing in this first event, and then if you feel comfortable after that, run a table of the Assault on Absalom multi-table special that we'll be taking part in staring in October. :)

Any plans to run higher tiered games? I'm imagining Tier 1 is going to be popular but I have some Tier 2/3/4/5 characters whom I may be interested in playing if I can.
I would LOVE to get some higher-tier games running, not just Tier 1. I listed everyone at Tier 1 to start off just to gauge interest. I'm planning to have a spot when players sign up for them to indicate that they'd like to play in a higher-tier game, and then I can convert a few of the tables to higher-tier to match the interest.
TL;DR: Yes, we'll have higher-tier games, based on interest shown during signups. :)

Alright everyone, here's the player recruitment sheet for Cards Against Gnomanity!
Make sure when you fill it out that you include all listed information. Please indicate if you have characters that you'd like to play in the listed season who are higher than Tier 1. If there's enough interest, I'll consolidate tables and transform some of them into higher-tier tables.
IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO LIST YOUR E-MAIL ADDRESS ON THE SHEET, PLEASE EMAIL ME AT cartmanbeck@orgplayonline.com WITH YOUR NAME AND PFS #. You should still fill out all other sections on the form!

I'd recommend cross-posting recruitment to the PACG unofficial subreddit after a week or so, if it doesn't look like we're on track to fill all current spaces. It seems a good place to advertise.
If that is the intent, I'd specifically recommend advertising long enough in advance that players brand-new to PACG Organized Play have a chance to potentially purchase and have a Class Deck delivered. In some parts of the world, that alone can be a 2 week process.

Estra
Skizza
Qualzar
We'll be playing a tier 2 scenario, so your character will need to be within 1 tier of that.
I will set a time of 24 hours for interested players to post in that recruitment thread, then I'll randomly select 3 of them. Recruitment closes at 6/13/18 10:30 PM EDT.

Hi again all!
I've gotten a few questions about how to do this whole "playing ACG online" thing, which is a TOTALLY REASONABLE question to ask! I'm about to go to bed, but the best thing to do to see how things work is to go look through a few threads!
Mork's Mythic Goblins of Awesomeness
Factions Favor by Hawkmoon
Plundered Tombs by Redeux
Essentially, you as the player will build your deck using a Google Sheet that is shared over on the Campaign Info tab. You'll then post what cards you explore each turn, which is done by opening the Spoiler tag for that card in the location your character is currently at, rolling whatever dice you might need to roll, and saying things like "Acquired!" or "Defeated!" or "OH GOD IT BURNS!" and then the box runner will make all the necessary adjustments to the database that's being used to run the game.
We're slowly working on rolling out a new system to run these games, so those of you who are signed up as box runners, we'll be doing tutorial sessions in the next few weeks to get you up to speed on how to use that new database system. Stay tuned!
Okay, so I need to get some sleep, but those of you who have played in/BR'd for games so far, feel free to elaborate! :)

Is there a limit to the number of signups allowed thus far? (For those of us who may now be ACG addicts?)
Nope! Keep in mind you'll likely be expected to be available to make at least one full post per day, with a preference for also able to contribute to discussions/strategy, so don't overexert yourself. With that said, in previous events they've allowed up to 2 entries per player; they've just taken off any restriction this time.
Also, for those of us who are playing through S. 3 and 4 as their first/only ACG OP xp, any earlier seasons particularly recommended for snagging now while they are on offer? :)
I wouldn't say there's any real specific benefit to a given season. The later seasons have slightly more refined mechanics, with the Trader options in Seasons 3 and 4 being particularly solid (and, in my opinion, having slightly better Character rewards), but they're all good fun.
If in doubt, just pick one based on the Adventure Path you want most:
(Season 0) Season of the Shackles == Skull and Shackles
(Season 1) Season of the Righteous == Wrath of the Righteous
(Season 2) Season of the Runelords == Rise of the Runelords
(Season 2B) Season of the Goblins == Rise of the Runelords
(Season 3) Season of Plundered Tombs == Mummy's Mask
(Season 4) Season of Faction's Favor == Mummy's Mask
I recommend players and potential players ask any questions they wish here in this forum; though it's perhaps somewhat preferred to place them in the Discussion tab.

I'll put together something later today if Cartmenbeck hasn't already. We'll also cover the BGG forums.

No solid limits on tables, but please PLEASE don't overextend yourself and end up not having fun, or causing others at your table to have less fun.
Also, if you've signed up for 2-3 tables, maybe wait a week or two before adding more just to give relative newbies time to sign up for the seats.
I've only seen a few requests for higher-tier tables (one on this thread, one on the signup sheet, and I think they were the same person). If you are interested in playing an adventure 2 or higher, please post here to that effect (and specify the season if you're interested in a particular one) so that I can gauge how many tables I should boost up. Since I have already submitted the scenario support request for this event, I'll only be asking VOs to run any tables higher than tier 1, since they should already have access to the PDFs for higher tiers. We'll also likely only end up with a single table at higher tier for any given season, unless there's a ton of sudden demand.

Oh, and I forgot to mention to you all: We no longer have the "HARD DEADLINE END DATE of August 12th" for Cards Against Gnomanity, because the Assault On Absalom special is being planned to run during the SECOND slot of PbP Gameday, starting in early October. Cards Against Gnomanity will still officially end on August 12th, but if you have ongoing games running at that time, you will have time to finish them up.
