Looking at the silvered bolts with interest, Kyleon was more appraising them out of curiosity than functionality.

Until their scholar mentioned their true use.

Lycanthropy? That is just a tale, yes? But it is the only think that makes sense. All these people ... wolves ... I wonder if they can control themselves. Do they choose to be vicious?

He felt bad for them. The crossbowman stooped next to the corpses, looking for artifacts on their persons - wedding rings, notes, charms - something of sentimental value. Does it eat away at their spirit as well?

As bidden, he reloaded his prototype weapon with the new silvered bolts.

As necessary, he trained his sights on the door and fired.

Round 2, Round Harder
===================

The Wolf-being made no noise as Nacht carved its easier flesh into sizable chunks, going along the most painful ways possible. He had experimented on the wolf-being he hunted down. The new weapons seemed to make the wolf-beings as malleable at the spy-being.

The lack of noise.. of response did not seem to fully satisfy the insectile man. He analyzed the one in front of him. A major artiery would make it cry and bleed, aiming for nerve clusters would make it writhe in pain, cutting the eyes would make it regret. It was time to try these out.
