Set in a version of 15th century Europe where magic, monsters, myths and legends are real....
Pulling down the veil covering her mouth, Achiko speaks for the group in newly-learned French:
Good evening! We thirsty sake--er, wine! We also questions! We come long way, look for long-lost brother, Hisao-San.... You see him? Look like us?
Achiko offers Wench Bettina a gold tael from her coin string....
Taking the gold tael and noting that it has a hole in the center, Wench Bettina shrugs and stuffs it in her coin purse.... Well, it's a funny looking coin, with a hole in the middle.... But it's real gold, that's all I care about!
In French: I'll be right back with some wine for you and your friends, Madame! As for your brother Hisao, I've not met anyone by that name.... But there was a young fellow who bore a strong resemblance to you four in features, went by the name Hamid of Persia.... Maybe I misheard his name and he was saying Hisao of Persia?
Her eyes widen in excitement at mention of this "Hamid of Persia" resembling herself and the other ninja....
In broken French: Where him go now? Where "Hamid of Persia"?
Hmmmm.... Maybe this information is worth another funny gold coin with a hole in it....
In French: Well.... It's generally against our policies to reveal the business or whereabouts of our patrons, I'm sure you understand.... Although, for a fair price, I might be persuaded....
Achiko smiles sweetly, but draws her ninja-to and places the razor-sharp blade against Bettina's throat in the blink of an eye!
In French: Like to give better answer, sweetling?
Branching in terror, Wench Bettina swallows hard and nods her head, which she suddenly decided keeping attached to her body is worth the information....
In French: Oui! Oui! Don't hurt me, Madame! Hamid of Persia....or perhaps this Hisao you seek....joined a band of adventurers called The Lusty Fools.... They were last seen marching north to the port town of Calais, to catch a ferry to England.... I'm not sure why, but something to do with righting wrongs and the like....
Bettina sighs in relief as the blade of Achiko's ninja-to is removed from her throat....
Achiko sheathes her ninja-to and bows shortly to the frightened wench....
In French: Answer better, Madame.... Now.... Fetch wine!
Whipping off another gold tael from her cash string with deft speed and grace, Achiko tosses the coin to Wench Bettina, who catches it by reflex in spite of still being somewhat in shock....
Wench Bettina hurries off to fetch wine and goblets for the four ninja....

Back in England.... Would The Lusty Fools like to stay in warm beds at the inn, and perhaps enjoy a fine meal? Or would they prefer to ride a bit further through the night and camp somewhere further up the road?

Nacht detects a canine odor in the air, and notes the lack of any other animals in the yard of the inn.... He also hears a low growling or snarling as if a pack of wolves were dining inside the inn....

Shall we change back to human shape and 'ave a bit 'o fun with them first?
The werewolf shifts back into Innkeeper "George", grinning mischievously....
O' course! 'Ow else we's s'posed to stave off the ennui!? I love to play with me food first!
The serving wench werewolf shifts into "Lass Lucy", a pretty, dark-haired and dark-eyed teenaged girl....
*Sigh*.... Right, then.... A wee game first....
The werewolf inn patrons, five altogether, shift into woodsmen, farmers, or shepherds....
Tee-hee-hee!
Entering the common room of The Stag Inn, The Lusty Fools are greeted by the innkeeper and the serving wench, and by all five of the rather friendly-seeming inn-patrons....
In English: Good evening, travelers! Make yourselves at home! What'll ye have to eat and drink?
In English: What an 'ansome lot they are, too! Where d'ye hail from, travelers?
The dark-haired, dark-eyed wench bares her teeth in a friendly smile....
'Ansome, indeed! Why, they look good enough to eat, I'd say.... Har har har!!

Wolf-beings, that is what he would name these ones. The piercing yellow eyes that came from the hood undid some of the button on his cloak. Yes, this would be a game, he saw no four-legged furred beings. Moving up to the Female wolf being the sound of a creeping mantis resounded. He came up close.. behind her.. mimicking the male-being's mating ritual.. sniffing her.

Oh, my! But you do have a way with the ladies, stranger! Hehehee! You might say you bring out the animal in me!
Suddenly, the serving wench's features grow bestial, and then canine, shifting into a hybrid of woman and wolf!
Rather than react with shock or fear, as one would expect of normal inn-patrons, the woodsmen (2), farmers (2), and shepherd chuckle at the serving wench's transformation into werewolf....

Positions at the start of combat are as follows: clockwise from the entrance door, Hisao of the Yellow Reeds stands at 8:00, west of the southward-facing inn door....
Alphonse stands at 10:00, about ten feet north of Hisao....
Paddy stands at 2:00, about ten feet east of Alphonse....
Nacht stands at 4:00, about ten feet east of Hisao....
Clustered in the ten-foot-square area in the middle of this outer ring formed by Hisao, Alphonse, Paddy, and Nacht are Kyleon at about 11:00, crossbow leaning on his shoulder....
Kiyu stands at about 1:00, behind and more toward the middle than Paddy....
Iommi-Tyr stands at about 5:00, and 5 feet behind and closer to center than Hisao....
The innkeeper werewolf stands behind the bar, about 20 feet from the PCs' front rank (Alphonse and Paddy)....
The serving wench werewolf stands at 3:00, about 10 feet away from Paddy....
The five inn-patrons are spread out throughout the common room, so there is one about 5 feet from Alphonse, one about 5 feet from Hisao, one 5 feet from Paddy, one 5 feet from Nacht, and a fifth about 10 feet from Nacht.....
