You'd better believe it. Sleightly less charismatic than Reavis even. Read his chronicle list if you want a good laugh.

So, I forgot I GM a game during the last GD. I am actually level 7.0 so I will be on par after Golemworks is done. Valik will be meditating while you do your next mission.
Got the chronicle. Thanx and enjoy the next game :)

Valik, you could play the next two at slow XP and not get ahead of us.

Vailis is back and ready to keep adventuring with you all! :)
I applied a couple of GM chronicles to him, thus he is level 6 already but I still have to update the online profile.

Mel buys the following scrolls to replace what he used: grease, levitate, endure elements, unseen servant, open/close.
He also buys another scroll of unseen servant, a cloak, and a dagger.
Mel figures we're going to meet more things that need special metals, so he will replace his hand axe and light mace with a cold iron hand axe and a silvered light mace. How much does that cost?
He already had piercing, slashing, and bludgeoning covered. Now he'll have magic, silver, and cold iron. Should he invest in anything else?

![]() |

Splash weapons, if he doesn't have any yet. Every Pathfinder should have some.

I have burning hands and a bow... but some holy water might be a good idea. This is what Mel buys:
Scroll of Endure Elements 25
Scroll of Grease 25
Scroll of Unseen Servant 25
Scroll of Unseen Servant 25
Scroll of Levitate 150
Scroll of Open/Close 12.5
Patchwork cloak 5
dagger 2
Cold Iron Hand Ax 12
Silvered Light Mace 25
Holy Waterx2 50
sunrod 2
Wand of Cure Light Wounds 2PP
Total: 358.5 gold and 2PP

Can I get a clarification. Disguise Self has 'range: personal' and 'target: you' So does Expeditious Retreat. However, a previous pathfinder adventure (not this group) seemed to require a wand of expeditious retreat be used on the party. So do wands allow you to cast all/most self-only spells on other people?
Coming around to the point... can I use my wand of disguise self to help Sarsczek get into a cogneeto by changing his gender?

GM Harker |

Mel, spells with range: personal can only be cast on yourself. If the spell is on a wand, it can only be cast on the person that activated the wand. As an additional note, you cannot make a potion that has range: personal so, for instance, you'll never come across a potion of Shield.
I cannot speak for the previous adventure, but in ordinary cases the wand of Expeditious Retreat should have not have worked on anyone other than the person activating the wand.
Back to your point, no you cannot use a wand of disguise self on Sarsczek. If he had a high enough UMD and succeeded on the roll (or had the ability to cast the spell himself), he could use the wand on himself, however.

Burning hands is great but sometimes you need to throw it over someone's head, or get it farther than burning hands can reach. I recommend Acid and Alchemist's Fire too. Pretty cheap to get 2x of each at this stage of Mel's career.

OK, he buys two of each too.

Just to clarify for the GM. I didn't buy anything. I'll be resupplying my arrows after this part, so I'll be full again. I have enough arrows to be dangerous right now.
Saving for holy on my bow...because bad guys are not holy.

Vailis and Coco are now updated to level 6 :)

![]() |

Alright, time to post in gameplay. Sorry, wasn't getting the updates, I'll get to it within the next hour or two.
Ophelia's purchases are a cloak of resistance +2 (4,000 gp), and a spring-loaded wrist shealth (5 gp) containing a scroll of breath of life (1,125 gp). She can activate the scroll with a DC 10 caster level check (4 or more on the d20).

Sorry for my silence, people. I'm running my first PFS special tomorrow - #8-00: The Cosmic Captive - and I've spent an entire week getting ready for and stressing over it. After tomorrow it'll be over, and I can get back to posting.

![]() |

Sorry for my absence, I thought I had posted a warning Eastern holidays message on all my games but somehow missed this one :/
Quickly getting up to date.

![]() |

I can't afford an adamantine weapon, but while we're shopping, I'll pick up a packet of adamantine weapon blanch and coat 10 of my crossbow bolts.

![]() |

Insanely busy day, will catch up tomorrow. If I'm holding up the war, sarsczek will Snoop around.

I'll be on vacation Friday through Monday. I may sneak a post or two in within that period, but if you're waiting on Sarsczek to take any actions, I'd nominate my fellow rogue-ish buddy Mel to take control of my character. As a note, in combat Sarsczek will bite anything, no matter how gross or obviously dangerous. He has tasted multiple flavors of ooze and undead to date.

Got the lurgy, post coming in the morning.

![]() |

I'll be spotty at best from the 10th till the 18th. I should be able to get a post or two in on the 10th and 11th, but after that I'll be on business travel and will be up to the whims of my phone and hotel wifi. Since the Cosmic Captive special kicks off then I'll likely be giving that my top priority to update, but I'll keep you updated on my connectivity while I'm away. Either that or I'll be chewing on Black's face and reading my chronicle by then =P.

Mel has nimble moves, so the first 5' of difficult terrain is considered normal. I don't think that changes much in the overall picture though.
Also, I don't think I saw anything about Mel recharging his rapier after the last time he zapped someone. I was trying to be pretty methodical about that. He would have burned an arcane charge to recall shocking grasp and cast it into the rapier. Can we say he did that before going down the stairs? If not that's fine, I'm just glad to still be in the party :)
Not my turn, so nothing to post in the Gameplay thread.
No dayjob. I wonder if he should have 'cavorting expenses' instead :)
Checking resources.... while I was gone, Mel
* burned one arcane charge for combat bonuses
* discharged shocking grasp from his rapier
* cast mirror image
Anything else?

Cool, thanks.
More questions.... You told us that Black was human for combat calculations, but does Mel know/believe/suspect that he's human? I was thinking use darkness to shut him down while we approach. Standard action to cancel it, right? Grr, range of touch. Could he cast it on an arrow and shoot it near black? Spell combat, LOL. Could cast and fire all in one round!
Also, with all the broken porcelain on the floor, how much damage would a gust of wind cause? Wondering if that is a viable attack vs poking him with a sword.

![]() |

Oops, prolly cannot do spell combat with a bow. How about he just picks up a random piece of debris and lobs it in Black's general direction?
You explicitly cannot without a special archetype (that was not PFS legal last I checked)

GM, in response to your confusion regarding my channel - Quiella heals for 12 instead of 6 because of her Fey Foundling feat. Since I roll 3d6 for channel, she heals 6 extra - 2 points per die rolled.

Sorry for all my silly rules questions. I am trying to get better and do research before asking. I think that has lead to less 'stupid' questions. On the other hand, I knew I was pushing it with the cast & throw, but I was just hoping there was something I missed. :)
For sanity's sake, though, I went and checked the AD&D 1E PHB. The Darkness 15' Radius spell had a range of 1"/level and created total darkness. So what i was planning did make sense in at least one ruleset :) But when I noticed that the range in pathfinder is touch, I was heartbroken. Refusing to give up, I started down the arrow/dagger/debris path, totally missing that it would only drop the light by one level to dim. That would have shut me up from the start. Oh well.
Plus I need to remember Mel is a magus, not a pure caster trying to perform crowd control. :)
Thanks for all of your time and patience. This is a fun group.
