The Flaxseed Pathfinder Lodge

Sorry for the delay. The first couple days here in Florida have been way busier than expected. I've been in the field from sunup to sundown. But now that I've got the brunt of the work out of the way things should be easier.

Ref: 1d20 ⇒ 13

Nikolai throws more force about, leaving Suliji quite wounded. Meanwhile Thorgan puts his axe into the blade golem and sends the weapons scattering about the room, ending the arcane construction!

Meanwhile Bishop puts a few arrows into the other construct but isn't able to defeat it. (+5 counts as adamantine for purposes of DR, but not hardness unfortunately)

5d100 ⇒ (19, 69, 4, 11, 54) = 157
2d100 ⇒ (47, 74) = 121
Ref: 1d20 ⇒ 1

Across the room Tamerius' xill allies have trouble hitting Suliji, but do finally manage to strike her twice. Tamerius then calls in even more allies to the fight and one of them catches Suliji in a lasso. Kahl' Heel is also able to put the final construct on the ground.

2d100 ⇒ (90, 29) = 119

Surrounded and with things looking grim for Suliji, she throws her hand out as if pushing open a door and then quickly steps through a dimensional sliver and is gone!

(dimension door)

Unless you have some way to stop her or catch her.... Otherwise, you can easily defeat the golem and start cleaning things up. Don't forget there the Patron Iaovin Ratarion is still here!

Then he moves toward the Patron Iaovin Ratarion.

I'm Tamerius Blakros my Lord. Nice meeting you. I hope you are well and taste the irony of this situation when Pathfinders come at your rescue.
Please understand that we are not responsible for what's going for your people and we have tried to be as correct as possible with your crew. Unfortunately Mr Kahyn was not eager to let us pass.

Then he adds with a smile Oh ! And I almost forgot to tell you something : Remember Jhandorage Vaulnder Alexayn. He sends his regards.

The Flaxseed Pathfinder Lodge

Tamerius sends his minions after Suliji but he also knows that a powerful spellcaster like her could have used a dimension door to go quite far and she is far more familiar with this building than you are....

Iaovin Ratarion picks himself up off the floor and dusts himself off a bit. "Yes, well, I'm glad you've cleaned up," he waves his hands to where Suliji was just standing a moment ago, "this mess. At least for now. Your message is clear, Tamerius, and I understand."

He stands for a minute shifting gaze from one Pathfinder to another before finally adding, "Well, we shouldn't let the awkwardness of this situation delay your return. I will make sure you have no more problems on the way out of the building and out of town."

At his instance that we don't have to awkwardly stand there, Bishop relaxes Good, that was going to be awful.

"May we some day find common ground for a greater good in this world."

After that he's ready to go. "I miss my dog."

It's been a little while, so I don't know if we need do anything more than spread the Founder's name and stop Suliji.

The Flaxseed Pathfinder Lodge

"Obviously we are sending our best agents after her right away." the Consortium leader says. "It is in both of our best interests, it seems. We are doing what we can."

---

As you conclude your infiltration of the Aspis Building, the chaos and carnage throughout Ostenso is coming under control of local authorities.

You meet Marcos Farabellus at the Grand Lodge in Absalom. When you join him, he is accompanied by Ambrus Valsin, Trotter Flaxseed, and a dark-skinned woman wearing a mask shaped like a steely whorl with three eyeholes—a member of the Decemvirate.

Farabellus speaks up, "Well, Suliji may have gotten away but let's not forget all that you did accomplish in Ostenso though. You broke into the Consortium headquarters, which is no small feat and something that will leave the Aspis questioning their own power. And not only that, but you did it with no casualties to yourselves or the agents working for you and with minimal casualties to the Aspis. In fact, you saved one of the Patrons, something he won't be forgetting any time soon." He laughs heartily and proclaims, "I knew I could count on you! You’ve made the Society proud today."

Valsin stares off into the distance, deep in thought, with a slight frown on his face. Eventually, he speaks, saying "I wonder, though, if we may have let an opportunity pass us by that the Society may never have again. It may have been that with Suliji's help we could have killed off several Patrons and left the Consortium crippled and scrambling."

Trotter then pipes in to come to your defense, "Suliji was treacherous, there is no guarantee that she would have cooperated or held up her end of the deal. An opportunity to strike at the heart of the Aspis? Maybe. But a risky one, and at what cost? Driving the knife in deeper, widening the wedge between our organizations? No, instead they did the most peaceable thing and maybe the Patrons will recognize that. We can only hope."

The member of the Decemvirate, who has been intently watching and listening but heretofore silent, finally speaks up.

“The Society has endured for centuries and shall endure for many more—beyond the lifetimes of any of its members yet sustained by future generations and the organization’s guiding principles: Explore the world’s mysteries, report those findings, and cooperate to ensure one another’s success. As evidenced by recent events, we must sometimes go beyond that call to ensure a future in which we can study the past. Even when agents fall in service to lore, we commemorate them and foster another to pursue her objectives.” She reaches for a bag and withdraws an intricate helmet adorned with three gem-studded flanges. Cradling it in one arm, she continues.

“Even among the Ten, malady and misfortune inevitably claim everyone, and another must rise to ensure the Society lives on, immortalized in deed and legend. We watch for those who might accept—and be worthy of—that challenge. You have earned a rest, brave Pathfinders, but we hope to see your return to the field.” She returns the helm to the bag and adds, “Perhaps then we shall meet again to discuss certain future opportunities to leave your mark on this age and beyond.”

---

In the weeks and months to come, the Pathfinder Society and Aspis Consortium step back their hostilities toward one another, making several quiet concessions to one another to maintain the peace. It’s only a matter of time before an Aspis agent fells a Pathfinder or a Society expedition thwarts a Consortium operation in the name of historical preservation. Even as hostilities gradually begin anew, both organizations prove increasingly careful not to let the conflict get out of hand—especially true for the Consortium’s Patrons, who are painfully aware how decisively the Society could retaliate if it deigned to do so again.

---

And that wraps up Part III and the entire All for Immortality series! Congratulations! I hope you all had fun with it, even if it took a little longer than I anticipated due to my schedule changes and time constraints the past few months.

Since I'm still on the road I won't be able to send out chronicles until Thursday at the earliest, more likely Friday or Saturday.

The Flaxseed Pathfinder Lodge

Hello everyone!

Before we get too far, please post the following for my convenience:

PFS number
Day Job roll
Initiative modifier
Perception modifier

Thanks! I won't harp on you guys about my expectations because I'm sure you all know them by now and anyways I think we've got a really good group here so I'm sure we won't have any problems!

We will probably start either tomorrow night or some time on Tuesday, depending on how busy I am tomorrow.

Thanks!

What levels do we have? Trying to figure out which tier we're playing.
My preference would be to bring a 15 and play high, but I can potentially bring a 12 and play low instead.

Hi there. If we start at 15, will we level ourselves out of the series?

My level 14 is an archivist bard. I need perhaps a week to extract him from a game - he will be 15 by the end of that game, unless I go half-speed. Not strong in physical combat, but some magic and does well on knowledge skills. He can also do quite well as a rogue, which we would likely not need if Rob is on the Job.

I have a level 12 dwarven monk (core), puncher/grappler.

I have a level 12 Cleric of Abadar, with a focus on channeling. Also doubles as a better then average diplomat, no melee capability. I need to level her, but that is straightforward.

It's 3 parts, each 1 xp. My 15 is at 42xp and so could play all 3 parts.

My 15 is a Ranger 3, Fighter 3, Rogue 1, Shadowdancer 8 - Melee skirmisher w/ rogue skills and shadow shenanigans.

My 12 is a Melee badass Battle Oracle 12. I'm not particularly fond of playing in her pbps due to an abundance of immediate actions that are a pain to deal with in pbp.

In theory I also have a 12 druid and a 14 Barbarian/Ranger/Living Monolith neither of which I particularly want to play.

Dark Archive

I have only characters level 12... may be 14 if I apply the chronicles from Wardens of the Reborn Forge to it (in this case I will asks DMS to provide my character with it)

My characters are a Cleric of Asmodeus with a focus on summoning and fire, a melee bard (Arcane Duelist) and a Ninja

Sovereign Court

Sadly, I have an abundance of level 12s (several of whom I can still play - usually, I have them reported as 'dead' once they hit 12), but only one higher than that - and he is a 17 :-/

My choices for this arc are:

(Original Recipe) Summoner 12
Bard(Archaeologist) 6/Dragon Disciple 6
Sorceror(Crossblooded) 12

Out of those, I would prefer to play the Sorceror - The Summoner is a melee beat-stick which isn't a lot of fun to play, and the Bard, quite frankly, wasn't optimised for high-level play (he was the skill-based, light-infantry running mate of a well-built archer throughout most of his career).

Liberty's Edge

I'm in a case where I've only got 1 available character, this one.

Strictly speaking I can report Wardens of the Reborn Forge parts I-II right now. I'm happy to do so if you'd like Ilmakis.

Meanwhile I'm headed back to school today, so I'll post in a few hours, but for now:

Ilmakis, something to consider. If you apply the chronicles to the character before we complete Reborn Forge, then you have to forfeit the 4th bonus chronicle. Sorry, it's very specifically written in there.

Dark Archive

In this case, I prefer to play at level 12. I don't mind playing up if needed.

If Tangaroa goes 15 it's x̄(12, 12, 14, 15, 15)= 13.6

If Tangaroa goes 12 it's x̄(12, 12, 14, 15, 12)= 13.0

Either way, I don't think high tier is an option...

Dark Archive

If it's 13.6 don't we play 14-15 with the 4 players adjustment ?

GMEF fired an invite to me as well. I just have a 12 available to play this at the moment, so would push it to the lower subtier.

I could also sit it out. If things work out, I never have any issues playing up.

Agreed, always play what makes you happiest. That's ESPECIALLY true at high levels in my experience.

No worries EF. I've got plenty of time today and Friday since I'm proctoring AP examines instead of teaching.

I want to play the character that will make the party succeed. That's what makes me happy.

Besides, I like the gnome.

I will have to half-track the first game, since I'll be at 42.5

I played the special but cant for the life of me remember who the mastermind was.

On the off chance it matters, this character did play the immortal conundrum, so has interfaced with Thuvians before. The point of contact was a woman though, not the Emir.

I admit I'm curious as to if the fights in this adventure are "random" (a la the confirmation) or preset.

Hey guys, just giving you a heads up now, but I'm going to be completely MIA from Thursday night to Sunday morning. Normally I find time to squeeze in a post or two, but I'm spending the weekend as one member of a 12 person relay team running about 200 miles from Boston to Provincetown. We do it because we're crazy, but my fiancee's mother past away from cancer, so we run to support the ACA.

I'll be back to posting ASAP, but I figured I'd give you the heads up now.

On a business trip 6/6 to 6/10. I should be able to post, but bot me if needed.

I'll be gone next week so the game is going to have to pause during that time anyways.

I was going to bot Chun Hei or move on, but I knew this announcement was coming up anyways:

This is just a reminder that I will be taking the preliminary exam for my PhD program from Monday-Friday this week and will not be back until next Saturday or Sunday. Thank you for being patient while my games take a short break!

Hey everyone. I just got word that our network at school is down tomorrow (my grades are due Friday, good thing I didn't procrastinate!) I'm also closing on a house and moving this weekend.

I'll try my best to post what I can, when I can. I'll be back to my normal speed Monday, even moreso since my students will be taking finals.

I am considering buying boots of speed since we're not always running under haste/blessing of fervor.

Any thoughts?

Other than that no purchases and Chun Hei has not leveled.

Thorgan's a fan of winged boots at this stage in the game. :)

Bishop just hit level 15. I think I'm saving the money for now. He's leveled up. Working on Timber now.

Two points, whilst I mull over purchases:

1) Based on the fact that I did not use a lot of slots last game (since I didn't need to, what with the party's damage output), I am happy to be on 'Heroism' detail, covering the entire party (including the devil and the wolf). I am also happy to cast Endure Elements on everyone, as well.

2) After the second part, I have some AP GM credit that I can apply to Nikolai, which will take him to level 15 for the 3rd part.

I havent had a chance to update my sheet, but Davon is half speed and should not be leveling.

I may give Tamerius chronicles from Reborn Forge which will push him around level 14.
What do you think if we play in high tier ?
