Bishop grabs arrows from a little-used part of his quiver and lets fly again:

May Asmodeus cleasing Fire destroy this thing !

@GMEF: Maybe you missed that Thorgan's flying? He activated his boots upon seeing the catwalks in the room and worrying about falling in.
Let me know if that's sufficient to avoid all the nasties, as it'd affect his action to recover from it versus continue to fly around swinging an axe.

EndlessForms |

Oh sorry, I missed that Thorgan and Chun Hei were flying/hovering. So you won't take the damage for immersion but you would still need to make the DC 18 Fortitude save against the fumes or take 1 Constitution damage, except that life bubble is protecting you so I guess we don't need to worry about that either.
Nikolai is hurled into the acid but flies out again, throwing more force at the godlike creature. Davo offers up hope over the bleak situation as Chun Hei does her best to hack off bits of the ooze, which is only marginally effective.
Bishop's blunt arrows only bounce off the ichor and still have no effect. Tamerius throws another fireball but it also doesn't have a great effect on the ooze.
The ooze then raises out of the acid a few more feet and reveals its horrible amorphous body....
Everyone but Bishop: DC 19 Will save against fear or panicked for 17 rounds. If you make the save, you are only shaken for 1 round.
Then Nikolai needs an additional DC 18 Will save or be shaken for 17 minutes.
Initiative:
1. Thorgan, Nikolai, Davo, Bishop, Tamerius, and Chun Hei
2. God Fount (235 dmg)
You guys are up!

![]() |

@EndlessForms: Nikolai is immune to fear, so I don't think I need to make the saves...?
Completely unfazed by the creature's display, but nevertheless impressed by its ability to withstand a horrifying amount of damage, Nikolai unleashes another volley of force missiles.
Empowered Battering Blast: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (19) + 17 = 36, for 5d6 + 5 ⇒ (3, 5, 3, 3, 6) + 5 = 25*1.5 = 37 Force damage.
Empowered Battering Blast: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (13) + 17 = 30, for 5d6 + 5 ⇒ (6, 6, 2, 1, 3) + 5 = 23 = 34 Force damage.
Quickened Magic Missile: 5d4 + 10 ⇒ (3, 4, 1, 2, 1) + 10 = 21 Force damage.

Chun Hei, shaken but not stirred, grimaces and continues her assault.
"By Yaezhing's might, this creature will suffer for its crimes!"

damage: 2d8 + 34 + 2d6 ⇒ (6, 4) + 34 + (4, 3) = 51

I remembered to subtract shaken, go me.

As a note I haven't been bothering with my bite because it's so much lower than my sword, but on the off chance it goes down from my attacks Chun Hei will totally bite it.

Dang.! I somehow missed that they were immune to bludgeoning too in the description. Sorry Bishop :/
will: 1d20 + 18 + 2 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 18 + 2 + 3 = 30
Davoliznakamushka is not easily perturbed... but neither is he particularly useful in this fight, lacking weapon to harm the beast or means to easily reach it. Instead, he waits, ready to assist any who might fall.
I'm giving every +5 to their saves vs effects like the fear, by the way - +2 morale, +3 insight

The buffs are helping me immensely at least.

Thorgan takes a breath, pleasantly surprised it's not foul-tinged thanks to the protective bubble surrounding him. He then judges the strange ooze unworthy and lays into it with a trio of swings.
Keep same judgements. Swift to bane.
Not sure if we advanced another round without Thorgan acting since I asked the question about flying, if so, pop the 2nd attacks spoiler.

@Nikolai: sure! The monster wouldn't know that anyways.
Nikolai keeps his cool and hits the God Fount with even more force, this time finally blasting it to bits!
Out of combat!
Once the creature is dead, the acid begins disappearing into large drains that open on all four walls. It takes 10 minutes for the acid to drain entirely.
Although barely perceptible amounts of greenish, glistening acid cling to a few surfaces here and there, this bunker-like laboratory is surprisingly intact. The room’s steel workstations appear sterile but are arranged messily, with blocky metal desks overturned and chairs flung askew, as if any workers here fled in a panic. To the south is a tiered platform supporting a large vat that is sunken into the floor. To the west is a heavy, riveted, industrial-grade door.
Most of the drawers in the workstations and the storage bins are empty, since many were left ajar, allowing the room’s flowing acid to destroy their contents. However, after spending 10 minutes searching the lab, you come across a closed drawer with surviving contents. The drawer contains an orange prism ioun stone.

![]() |

Nikolai breathes a sigh of relief.
"So much for ze self-proclaimed 'God'..."
He then moves over to inspect the door.
Perception 'Take 10' = 34.

![]() |

Nikolai gives Bishop a sympathetic smile, which, disconcertingly, still manages to look slightly predatory.
"Don't vorry. Zere are times vhen ve are each not especially useful. Ze important zing is zat we managed to triumph/"

![]() |

"I assume the circle of amber light on the top platform would return us, master Nalmois, a portal back.".
The gnome tries to collect a sample of the drying ichor - who knows if it will be useful?
"I suppose I we can find nothing else here we should check on our teams."
I feel like we're missing something

![]() |

@Davo: Well, there is the 'industrial' door mentioned in the room description... presumably, there is something beyond it ;-)

![]() |

Bishop nods at the intimidating looking door. "We're not done yet."
He gives Nikolai an appreciative nod, and grabs his bow Decision even harder.

![]() |

Don't overlook the +1 caster level ioun stone we just found!
Thorgan gives the industrial door a cautious gaze.
"Too bad none o' ye brought a good way t' see through one o' these... no tellin' what's locked on th' other side, but clearly it's somethin' they wanted to keep in."

EndlessForms |

When you find your way past the industrial door (which has unlocked itself after the acid finishes draining), you see Professor Inphira Kramolag (female human if you were wondering) slumped on the floor. She is delirious from oxygen deprivation but is easily revived.
A flicker of sarcasm crosses her bruised lips, though the expression visibly pains her. “You’re not... Oh, good. It gets better.” More words begin to raggedly emerge, but a coughing fit overtakes her, and she pauses before continuing. “Whoever you are, you’re going to want to heal me. This place is about to fall down on your heads, and only I can tell you how to escape. I built this place, you know.”

![]() |

Sense Motive: 1d20 + 22 ⇒ (18) + 22 = 40
May be you build this place but it seems you loose control of it.
But now is not the time to discuss what you make wrong - a lot by the looks of this place - but why we as Pathfinder will agree to let you get out of this place... alive.

![]() |

Bishop, arrow in hand, waits for a nod from Tamerius. He'll plug her so full of holes that the wind from his arrows will make her corpse whistle.

![]() |

"I am fairly certain that this demiplane is cotangent to the ethereal or shadow plane, in which case we can find our own way out thank you very much, but feel free to amuse us. We do have several questions for you, but they can wait."

"Starting vith, vhy you zought it vould be a good idea to attack ze Society...", Nikolai butts in, helpfully.

![]() |

Chun Hei looks to her companions, if the decision is made to help her, Chun Hei will cast heal on her. CL 12

![]() |

As expected for a dwarf, Thorgan guffaws when the professor makes her "offer" in exchange for healing.
"Ahhh, why not? If she does somethin' we dun' like, we can always return 'er t' th' same state we found 'er in!"

![]() |

"Or we can be civilized people and bring her to some manner of authoritative justice. I'm sure the Chelish government would be happy to comment on the legality of her experimentation."
Yes, let's heal her and move on

![]() |

As we are not in Cheliax, I don't think official chelaxian will have any authorities here. But people from Nidal are and I'm not sure they are better than the chelaxian. Says Tamerius Davo
If you want to survive this encounter professor, we need to be sure that you will not be a threat to the Society anymore, to know of you past, future and present plans you had or have in motion.
After all, we are not the Consortium and the society is welcoming of ancient Aspis agent ready to amend.
Tamerius could aslo cast Heal on her if needed.

EndlessForms |

Ok, I'm back from the holidays!
Tamerius can see right through her scheme and knows that the lab is in no danger of collapsing, and Kramolag simply wants to be healed quickly so she can slip off and regroup herself.
"The Society? Oh yes, I am sure you think you're avenging yourselves and in a way you are. No doubt you’ve felt very proud every time
you executed another Korholm leader? You're really only helping your true enemy, you know. This goes deeper than you realize and you're playing right into every expectation so far."

![]() |

Tamerius stops his comrades who try to heal her.
Don't listen to her lies ! She just hopes to be healed. There is no danger of collapsing.
He turns to Kramolag listening again Sense Motive: 1d20 + 22 ⇒ (14) + 22 = 36
Is it another lie ? Another way to deceive us ? We killed your guardians, and your pets. Saved your lab's researchers and even have time to save you from a stupid death don't you think it's time for the Truth ?
I fear my patience for your games come to an end...

![]() |

"Look lady, I have little patience for games and intrigue. Answer the man. Answer truthfully. Answer quickly. My string fingers grow itchy." Bishop has no edge in his voice and speaks more like a passerby quickly looking for directions. He does, however, stare hard at the woman after he ceases to speak.
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 3 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 3 + 6 = 15

![]() |

Sense Motive: 1d20 + 22 ⇒ (13) + 22 = 35
Thorgan guffaws several times before finally losing patience with the woman and her deceit.
"AHL'RIGHT! AH'VE HAD ENOUGH O' YE ASPIS LIES OVA' THA' YEARS!"
Stepping forward, Thorgan looks about ready to abandon all reason and let the angry side of an Angraddian take over his better judgements. Spittle flies through the room like a torrential downpour.
"TIS TIME YE PLAY IT STRAIGHT UNLESS YE WANT T' BE ON THA WRONG SIDE O' THIS DWARF N' 'IS AXE!"
Intimidate: 1d20 + 28 ⇒ (19) + 28 = 47

EndlessForms |

@Davo: you know of no reason why it wouldn't.
"Aspis? Is that what this is about? No, this isn't about the Aspis. It's about the Korholm Agenda." Kramolag grimaces. "My role was strictly coerced. I had and have no interest in the Korholm Agenda beyond its use for minor field tests, and even that was my making the most of a bad situation. If I had my way—" she looks around with disgust "—and clearly I can’t have that, I would have wanted nothing to do with the Agenda or the hellion Suliji Peshar."

![]() |

Nikolai raises an eyebrow.
"If you vere coerced, as you say, perhaps you could provide some additional details (along viz corroborating documentation) zat vould enable us to bring zis Agenda down, along viz zis Suliji Peshar...?"

![]() |

What is this Korholm Agenda ? How were they able to coerced you Professor ?
Asks inquisitively Tamerius
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 22 ⇒ (5) + 22 = 27

![]() |

Chun Hei listens, her hand having moved from her spellpouch to her sword.

EndlessForms |

What is this Korholm Agenda ? How were they able to coerced you Professor ?
"Suliji’s the one who started it all—she and her withered patron. What do you know of what the Korholm Agenda’s done? You were at the attack on the Grand Lodge or at least heard about it, right? Suliji knows how to manipulate. She pulled together a group of six of us. Some she lured with a chance for revenge, others with the promise of profit, and me with the looming specter of blackmail. We did her bidding, coordinated her attack on the Grand Lodge, and ultimately suffered when the Society began attacking to avenge itself. No doubt you’ve felt very proud every time you executed another Korholm leader? We’ve learned the hard way that Suliji uses those happy feelings as a smokescreen to operate with impunity, letting you think you’ve won every time you kill a decoy. No doubt she sold me out because I looked too deeply into her real plans."

EndlessForms |

Nikolai raises an eyebrow.
"...and vhat, pray tell, are zose real plans...?"
"Suliji’s an ambitious woman, but she covers her tracks well. I found that she returned to Ostenso regularly over the past two years—and not to check in at the Aspis headquarters. Instead, she was sneaking into the mausoleum of Jhandorage Vaulnder Alexayn. He is—or was—one of the Consortium’s founders who died more than a century ago. He was practically an informal saint of the Druman Kalistocracy by the time he died, so she might be smuggling his wealth out. More likely she’s found some other advantage within, possibly one tied to the Consortium’s early days that she could hold over the Patrons’ heads or use to tear the Consortium apart."

![]() |

So, one rogue agent of the Aspis, uses the Consortium ressources to get what ? Revenge ? Power ? Wealth ? Seems like plans within plans but for which goal ?
What was your role in her scheme ? What do you do here, in this facility or in the other we found in Nidal ? What was the purpose of your research Professor ?
Asks Tamerius, always looking for a lie or a treachery from the Professor.
