My dad is hauling me off with his buddies and making me go on a hunting trip with him all this weekend. So at some point today I'm going to drop off and you may or may not hear from me until Sunday.
I'm missing going to our town's convention, and going to kill things, so needless to say, I'm not too happy about it...
I would tell him I don't like to hunt, but this is the one thing he thinks I like to do with him, and if I told him I didn't like to do it, he would whine and bring it up all the time. My dad can be really petty.

Wishing you, your dad and your trip all the best.

Not wanting to come across the wrong way, there will generally always be conventions. We gamers are a patient, if random, lot so we'll wait but this time with you folks is unique and I hope will bring you fond memories.

Very much cherrs and good will to you and yours. (^_^)

Patience is easy when you have handheld video games.

Post coming up tomorrow guys ^_^

I'm on mobile too, so I don't get the sounds, but I do know what they sound like. Nice touch BTW. ^_^

Since Arthur is smarter than me, would it be a good or bad idea to try and remove it with his hands? I'm thinking bad. :/

You understand the properties of electricity from your deep studies of magic. You know that touching live wires is usually a bad idea. However, using a special technique, you can channel your own magical talent to block the harmful effects.

Roll 2d6+Int mod and put a non-cantrip spell of your own choice on the line. If your roll exceeds 10, you succeed entirely and you grasp the wire without harm. If you roll a 7-9, you succeed, but lose the spell you staked until you rest. If you roll a 6 or lower, you fail, lose the spell you put on the line until you rest, and your party gets slightly closer to leveling up.

I don't have spells, though....

Uhhhhmmmmm...well, Mr. Artificer, I'm not very experienced with your class. You saw the nature of my challenge and I assume you understand the ideas behind it - what alternative do YOU suggest?

RETIRED

I could attempt it with one of my potions maybe?
Short it out, either way, potion is expended, but if I fail, it's still lost but I don't gain anything?

Crossin' fingers fer ye.

Could you use a potion you've picked up, perhaps?

If you succeed entirely, you can save enough of the potion to make use of it for one dose still. Go ahead and try the roll. :)

Soo....
Force damage.

Sure. :)

Oh noes!

*HUGZ* teh Froggy!

Speedy recovery!

We have so many hospital visits in this game. O_o
Praying for you.

Guys, I've loved my time DMing for this game, but it has come to an end. I've become frustrated and fed up - through no fault of any of you - and I think I've definitely put too much on my plate as a DM. I'm burned out.

Part of the problem is the Pathfinder system. As I've played various different styles of PnP RPGs, I've grown a deeper understanding of what I like to see in a game, and I've noticed more and more that Pathfinder frustrates me as often as it excites me lately.

In a short while, after I've recovered from the shame I'm feeling for canceling this campaign, I'm going to experiment with coming back to the boards. One game at a time this time. But it won't happen right away. This was my first attempt at DMing an online campaign...it hurts that I'm shutting it down.

I hope you guys can understand and we can stay friends and play together again when I'm ready. It's not personal. I just can't do this anymore.

M Extrodinaraly Contrary Meatbag Fourm pyromancer 1

Of course.

It's fine. You did well.

I'll be glad to play in whatever you want next.

Thank you icehawk. I appreciate that, man. I was really hoping to not have to disappoint you guys - took me days to post this for that reason.

I'm sad to see this game go, but I understand.
If you don't get enjoyment out of a leisure activity, there's no point in continuing it.
It's almost just as well for me. I'm starting to get overloaded with games. :/
Message me if you start again. ;)

Wishing you all the very best, which same goes for every one.

Indeed, I too hope you return to DMing, it's been a fantastic/wonderful/fun adventure. (^_^)

Froggy...it was a great experience! It was my first time playing on the boards and was a great way to get started.

I hear you about the rules...I've started playing a lot more of the Savage worlds rules recently, much easier to learn so can concentrate on role-playing instead of worrying about rules.

Hey again guys. I've licked my wounds and recovered from my injured pride from canceling my precious campaigns, but you know I couldn't stay down for long.

I won't be DMing Pathfinder again, first of all. I love and respect Paizo and its products with all my heart for the part they played in my gaming development, but I can't deal with the huge volumes of rules and things to remember. Puts too much stress on me as a DM. I mentioned earlier to some of you that I was looking into Dungeon World, and I wanted to express to you guys that I am doing it.

This is a private recruitment drive that I'm posting in my former campaigns, to be fair to my favored players. I don't need the general riffraff of the boards if I have a cadre of players I have personal experience with.

If you're interested in participating in a PbP Dungeon World campaign on these boards, post here and let me know. Please, if you are interested in the game, research it and how it works - there are some ideas in the game that are foreign to Pathfinder or D&D, even though DW and D&D have many common roots.

Dungeon World Character sheets.

Check out the character sheet PDFs above if you're unfamiliar with the rules. They don't explain everything but they should give you some context for how the game works.

...
I don't think I'll ever be able to use that system.
Classes restricted by race, low hp, lack of overall options...

I'll take a little longer looking at it, but...

Hey Froggy - great news and count me in. My guilty little secret is I love buying/reading new RPG rule books and settings...and it's only $10 on Drive Thru RPG...I'll post a character concept after perusing the rules a bit.

It's not for everyone, Icehawk, I understand that. On the surface, its restrictions bothered me too. There's depth to the roleplaying and fiction-building mechanics that caused me to fall in love with it, however.

Here's the Barbarian class character sheet, which isn't included in the original link of character sheets.

Wishin' ye an' those joinin' in yer fun has a swell time. (^_^)

Much cheers ta' all.

Hey Caln, a few of the players from my other campaigns are discussing character creation here. I'm not sure if you'll be able to see/post to it because it's a discussion thread for one of my previous campaigns, let me know if you can't see it.

Cheers to Suny and Arwen, you guys are still awesome and I hope we can game together again :)

Sure DM you can always pm me.

(and please don't forget to put the game on inactive status)

Done and done.
