There are 4 cure moderates from the bug cache. There we're five but I chugged one as soon as we got them. With that and a night's sleep, I guess I'm back full.
I'm holding onto those. I am still a bit of a squishy caster.
They're kept in a panel in the right arm of the chair part of the strider if anyone needs it.

We shouldn't sell any of the magic items. At next level I get the ability the rip their full value in materials out of them to be used in new magic items, which is what we'd use the money for anyways.

I have had many PM's with the Dm about Suny's character and agree that toning down some of her behavior so as not to derail/distract/etc the goings on of everything else is a good idea.

Which does not mean I don't keep having fun and such with descriptions and actions. (^_^)

Can I get some help? I'm trying to use the item creation rules to make an item with constant detect magic and 5 uses of read magic a day.
I can't figure out how to work the charges per day part for read magic.

Assuming everything is at first caster level...

2 (because detect magic's duration is measured in minutes a level.) times 2000 because it's a continuous magic item times 1/2 because it's a cantrip.

4000, plus
2000 times 1.5 times 1/2 or 1500, divided by 5/5, or one,

For a total of 5500 gp to create the item, and six days of work.

If item is constant, no charges. x0.5 for cantrip. x2.0 for constant minutes.

If you can live with command word, 450gp cost. Not constant.

Command word, is as many times as you want.
Continuous is always on.

Neither requires limited charges per day. Or chargea at all.

Now, if you need it cheaper... You can have it 1/day for 20%, 2/day for 40%, 3/day for 60%, 4/day for 80%. 5/day is same cost as unlimited, so why bother.

Detect magic constant is a must, I want to just put it on and forget about it.
There's a cheaper way to do the read as well?

I don't think you can "forget it" as it requires concentration. That's just my take. Read Magic cheaper, sure.

I didn't mean to dictate, just typically seek the most cost effective way (cheapest).

Indeed, but if it is constant, you always have the first round effect of knowing when there is magic in the sight zone.

You have to concentrate to get the later effects witch will take a standard action every round you concentrate.

I think I'll just go with the 2000 for detect magic constant right now. I can make something else or upgrade it later with read magic. Haven't needed it yet, so less important.
And for me it's 2000×2=4000 for the market price then 4000÷3=1334 for my cost to make it.

No, the crafting cost is exactly 4000, so market price would be 8000.


It's .5×1×2000×2=2000 in crafting costs.

Prices presented in the magic item descriptions (the gold piece value following the item's slot) are the market value, which is generally twice what it costs the creator to make the item.

I think it actually is. It doesn't say that it's the crafting cost, so I think I'm right in assuming it is displaying market price.


Which means this is costing me 667 gold for it. 0_0

Sometimes I feel like we just keep trying to string this game along with our occasional posts and all of our flash-in-the-pan combats. :/
I'm afraid that this is going to keep happening and this will become more of a daily obligation to come back and check in than a real game that we play consistently. :/

You're welcome to leave if you aren't enjoying yourself, Arthur. We've been chugging along at this pace for some time now and it's been working fine. Sorry I didn't post over the weekend, I was with family.
